CHAPTER 18

After the playful chase and with the sun beginning to set, Xyrex and our friends settled down, enjoying the rest of the day with laughter, snacks, and shared stories.

Meanwhile, Luther and I found a quiet corner of the park, wanting to enjoy a little moment together. We sat close to each other, lost in our own world, enjoying the serene atmosphere.

Just as we were about to share a tender moment, our friends seemed to have an uncanny timing for interruption. Kit and the others noticed us from a distance and decided it was time for some mischief.

"Hey lovebirds! Whatcha doin'?" Kit shouted, making a heart shape with his hands.

Romeo joined in, "Oh, look at them being all romantic! We should join in too!"

Wence and Tarius giggled mischievously, "Yeah, let's give them some company!"

Before we could react, our friends surrounded us, making a circle and pretending to coo and aww at our affectionate moment.

Luther tried to suppress his laughter while I blushed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and amusement. "Guys, seriously? Can't we have a moment?"

Kit put on an exaggerated pout. "But we just want to share the love! It's a group thing, you know?"

Romeo chimed in, "Yeah, we're just spreading the love around here!"

Wence and Tarius made kissing noises, causing everyone to burst into laughter.

Despite our attempts to shoo them away, our friends were determined to keep the interruption going, throwing in cheesy romantic phrases and exaggerated gestures.

"Love is in the air, people!" Tarius announced dramatically, earning chuckles from the group.

Luther couldn't help but join in the fun, pretending to be overly romantic and showering me with exaggerated gestures of affection, much to the amusement of our friends.

Eventually, our friends eased up on their teasing, seeing that we were all in good spirits. They left us with playful waves and cheeky grins, promising to give us some space.

As they wandered off, Luther and I shared a laugh, grateful for the fun-loving nature of our friends. "Well, that was unexpected," Luther chuckled.

I nodded, still blushing a bit. "They always find a way to keep things lively."

We leaned in closer, stealing a quick, tender kiss before the sun dipped below the horizon, creating a moment that was ours amidst the playful interruptions. It was a reminder that amidst the laughter and fun with friends, our bond would always remain strong and filled with cherished moments.

The following Monday at school, the playful atmosphere from the weekend lingered among our friends. As Luther and I walked hand in hand through the school courtyard, we noticed our friends gathered in a corner, chatting and laughing.

Arjelyn and the rest of the girls were giggling about something, while Kit, Romeo, Wence, Tarius, and Tober were engaged in a spirited conversation nearby.

As we approached them, Arjelyn spotted us first and elbowed Diaxia, gesturing towards Luther and me. "Hey, look who's here! It's our lovey-dovey couple!"

Diaxia grinned mischievously. "Oh, don't mind them, guys. They're just lost in their own world again."

Tessia giggled. "I swear, they're always in their little romantic bubble."

Luther chuckled, nudging me playfully. "Looks like we're the entertainment for the day."

Tober winked at us. "You guys know you're our favorite couple to tease, right?"

Kit chimed in, "Yep, we're just spreading love and cheer everywhere!"

Romeo laughed, "Speaking of love, did you two have a memorable weekend? Any romantic escapades?"

Before we could respond, Secret interrupted with a teasing grin, "Oh, come on, give them a break! Can't they have some privacy?"

Wence teased, "But that's no fun! We need more romance in our lives!"

Amidst the banter and laughter, our friends surrounded us, sharing jokes and light-hearted teasing. Despite the interruptions, Luther and I couldn't help but smile at their playful antics.

As the bell rang, signaling the start of classes, our group dispersed, heading off in different directions. Luther and I exchanged a knowing glance, both amused and grateful for the lively and supportive friendships we had.

Throughout the day, amidst classes and corridors filled with chatter, the bond between us all remained strong. The playful teasing and warm camaraderie among our friends were a constant reminder that amidst the routine of school life, moments of joy and laughter were always close at hand.

Later that day, Luther and I decided to video call our friend Kiara, who was studying abroad in another country. We found a quiet spot in the school courtyard and dialed her up, but not before signaling to our friends to join in on the call.

The screen lit up, and Kiara's smiling face appeared on the video call. "Hey, you two lovebirds!" Kiara greeted us enthusiastically.

"Hi, Kiara!" I beamed. "We've got some company here too."

Just then, Kit, Romeo, Wence, Tarius, and even Tober crowded around, waving enthusiastically at the camera.

"Hey, Kiara!" they chorused in unison, each vying to get a spot in the frame.

Kiara laughed. "Wow, it's a whole party! How's everyone doing?"

Amidst the laughter and cheerful banter, each of us took turns updating Kiara about our lives at school, sharing stories and inside jokes that had happened recently.

Kit and Romeo recounted the funny incident from the park, exaggerating details and adding their own humorous twists. Wence and Tarius jumped in with their side of the story, causing Kiara to burst into laughter.

Wence shared some of the pranks they played on each other, especially the times they interrupted Luther and me during our moments together, which made Kiara laugh even harder.

Amidst the lively conversation, Kiara took a moment to ask about Luther and me. "So, what's the latest gossip with our lovebirds here?"

Luther grinned. "Oh, our friends here never let us have a quiet moment. They're always popping up to tease us whenever they can."

"Yeah, they're professional interrupters!" I joked, nudging Luther playfully.

Kiara chuckled. "Ah, sounds like they're just spreading the love! But I can see you're both doing great."

As the conversation continued, our friends filled Kiara in on all the latest happenings at school, sharing stories and jokes, making her feel like she was right there with us.

Before the call ended, Kiara offered some heartfelt words of encouragement and love, expressing how much she missed being with us and how proud she was of each of us pursuing our dreams.

As the screen went dark, we all exchanged cheerful goodbyes, feeling a little closer despite the distance. Luther and I shared a smile, grateful for such wonderful friends who made every moment, even a simple video call, feel like a celebration of friendship and shared memories.
