Chapter 43

(Readers POV)

I opened my eyes and saw that I'm in my Atlas dorm room.

(Y/N): What happened last night?

I looked down and saw Yang, asleep, on top of me, with the covers on her. I put my hand on her head and started to run my hand gently through her golden locks. She smiled in her sleep and snuggled closer to me. I checked the time on my scroll.

(Y/N): It's time to get up.

I started to shake Yang gently. She groaned and opened her eyes. She looked up at me and smiled.

Yang: Good morning, handsome. Did you enjoy last night?~

I stared to remember what happened. I felt my face heat up, causing Yang to giggle. She gave me a quick kiss on the lips.

Yang: Glad to see you enjoyed it as much as I did.~

She rested her head on my chest and held me close. Yang let out a satisfied sigh.

Yang: I love you so much.

(Y/N): I love you too.

Yang looked around the room.

Yang: No one else is in here with us.

She leaned in, her face being a few inches away from mine.

Yang: You want to go round two?~

The door suddenly slammed open, making me and Yang jump in surprise. We looked over and saw Ruby, Weiss, and Ying standing there.

Ruby: Finally! You two are awake!

(Y/N): What's wrong?

Ruby: A lot is!

Weiss: For starters, everyone thinks Penny killed a bunch of people.

I pinched myself and flinched. Yep, this is real. I got up from the bed.

(Y/N): Ok, what happened?

Ying: We're still waiting to find out. But I know Penny didn't do anything like that!

Ruby: Yeah, me too.

Yang got up and walked into the bathroom. I rubbed my eyes.

(Y/N): This certainly is one way to wake up.

I saw Ying staring at me.

(Y/N): Are you ok?

Ying: Yeah... I'm fine.

She looked down at the ground. I can tell she's lying to me.

(Y/N): Let me get you some water.

Ying: You don't need to do that.

I walked over and grabbed a bottle of water on a table. I tossed it to Ying and she caught it.

(Y/N): There. You're welcome.

Ying: Alright. Thanks, dad.

I stopped. I looked at Ying and everyone else is too. Her face turned red.

(Y/N): Um...

Ying: I-I'm so s-sorry! I didn't me-mean to!

I heard the bathroom door open.

Yang: Did she just say what I thought she did?

(Y/N): Listen. I don't want to know your kinks.

There is a knock at the door. It opened and my mom walked in.

Dye: So she finally told you.

Wait, what? Mom walked up to Ying and picked her up.

Dye: She's my granddaughter!

(Y/N): You really expect my to believe that she-

Everything just clicked to me. The same hair color. Pretty much the same name as Yang's. Why she seems to already know everyone.

(Y/N): Oh my god.

Yang: Wait a minute. You knew?

Dye: Yeah. I knew since she got here.

Mom started to pinch Ying's cheeks.

Dye: I could just see my special little boy's face in hers.

Ying: S-Stop.

Dye: You even sound like him.

Ruby: So I'm an aunt now?

Weiss: How are you here?

Mom let go off Ying. Ying rubbed her cheeks and looked at us.

Ying: Alright. I'll tell you everything.

(Ying's POV) (Flashback)

I looked around the city. All I see are broken buildings and no people. I felt a hand touch my shoulder.

Raven: You shouldn't be wondering by yourself.

Ying: I was just looking for any survivors.

Raven: We both know you won't find anyone.

Grandma Raven slashed at the air and made a portal. As much as I don't want to believe her, she's telling the truth.

Raven: Everyone is worried about you.

We walked through the portal. I looked around and my mom ran up to me and hugged me.

Yang: Don't go out without telling me! I was worried sick!

Ying: Sorry mom.

Ruby: You're alright. We need to discuss our next plan.

I looked at Ruby.

Ruby: It's been about a month since (Y/N) went... haywire. Weiss has been dealing with Grimm in the ruins called Atlas. And Salem is still running around.

Dad. Where even is he?

Ying: You never told me.

Yang: Told you what?

Ying: About dad. What happened to him?

I looked at mom and she turned her back towards me. She clenched her hands and looked at the ceiling.

Yang: I... Don't want to talk about it.

I was about to ask my mom further questions, but Grandma Raven put her hand on my shoulder and shook her head no at me.

Raven: What can we do, Ruby?

Ruby: Even with you being the Spring Maiden, our chances of victory are slim.

Grandma Raven looked at the ground.

Ruby: Salem is still searching for us. We need to look around and found the others. We'll get ready for an attack on Salem. We leave tomorrow and if you see Salem, run.

(Time Skip)

Me, Raven, Yang, and Ruby are walking through a forest. It's very creepy and no life at all.

Ying: I don't like this place.

Raven: Be a big girl and keep walking.

I just nodded. I still can't help but be scared. I heard some rustling. Grandma Raven drew her sword.

Raven: Come out! We know you're here!

A black haired girl walked out from the trees.

Ruby: You don't know when to stay dead, do you Cinder?

Cinder: That old hag still has something I want. I won't die as long as Salem wants me to live.

Raven dashed at Cinder and they started to fight.

Raven: Get out of here!

Mom and Ruby grabbed my arms.

Yang: We're leaving!

They started to run, dragging me behind them.

Ying: What about Grandma?!

Ruby: She'll be fine!

A tree got knocked down in front of us, causing us to stop. A man with bleach white skin and white hair walked up to us. He smiled at the three of us.

Yang: It's been a long time... (Y/N).

(Y/N): It's been awhile, Yang.

Ying: Dad?

He looked at me and froze for a second. He coughed and looked at me.

(Y/N): You know Yang. It's very rude that you wouldn't let me see my daughter.

Yang: (Y/N). Join us. I know you're still there. Together we can beat Salem.

(Y/N): I don't care about beating Salem. I don't need any help. I won't help you.

Yang got her gauntlets ready.

Yang: Then looks like I'll have to force you.

(Y/N): Really? I'd like to see you try!

He rushed at us. He kicked me away, sending me through a few trees.

Yang: Ying!

(Y/N): Keep your eyes on what's important!

Aunt Ruby rushed over to me.

Ruby: Are you ok?

Ying: I'm fine. We have to help mom.

I saw dad appear right in front of me.

(Y/N): Please let mom and dad handle this. I don't want to hurt you.

Ruby got her scythe and slashed at him. (Y/N) jumped back and continued to fight mom.

Ruby: This wasn't what I expected. We're in serious trouble. I'm sorry, Ying.

Ying: Sorry about what?

She hit me on the head with a blunt part of her scythe. I fell over and quickly lost conciseness.

(Time Skip)

I opened my eyes and quickly looked around. I'm still in the forest. I heard footsteps. I looked behind me and saw that Cinder woman.

Cinder: Good, you're awake. I need to... Get rid of some stress.

She rushed at me and started to slash at me with swords. I tried to block, but she kicked me to the ground. I got stabbed in the hand, causing me to scream in pain.

Cinder: You should have seen their faces. They looked terrified before they died.

They're... Dead?!

Ying: No... You're lying!

Cinder: I have no reason to lie.

She's right. I started to cry. She pulled out the sword from my hand.

Cinder: You'll see them soon enough!

She started to torture me. Constantly slashing her swords at me. My aura broke, but she still continued. She eventually stopped.

Cinder: Have fun being food for the Grimm.

She quickly left the area. I looked to my right and saw Grandma Raven's body. It started to move slightly.

Raven: Finally... She's gone.

She slowly got up and looked at me.

Ying: Grandma...

She walked up to me and wrapped her arms around me in a hug.

Raven: You're still alive. Thank god.

Ying: I don't want this.

Raven: I... Have a plan. A plan to fix all this.

She stood up and red flames came from her eyes. She slashed at the air and a portal opened.

Raven: Using the Maiden powers, I discovered I can make portals through time. Walk through it, and you'll be able to stop all this.

She fell down to her knees. I limped to her.

Ying: Please, don't leave.

Grandma put her hand on my cheek, rubbing it, and kissed my forehead.

Raven: Be a big girl... And save us.

I shedded some more tears and nodded. I saw the life leave from her eyes and the Spring Maiden power out of her body and towards the sky.

Ying: I'll fix all this. For you. For everyone.

I limped to the portal and walked through it. I walked to a snowy area and saw a bunch of people looking at me. I saw a young version of my dad and stumbled to him.

Ying: Help...

I fell over and lost conciseness.
