Chapter 27
(Readers POV)
It's been a few weeks since the attack on Haven Academy. Me and everyone else are at a train station. We have to bring the Relic to Atlas. I was sitting with Yang.
Yang: Are you excited that we are going to Atlas?
(Y/N): I'm only excited because I'm going with you.
Yang: Oh how you flatter me.
We shared a quick kiss.
Ruby: You two are so cute together.
Ruby appeared behind us. Yang turned around and started to talk to her.
Yang: Hey sis. How is the Relic?
Ruby: It's just fine. It's in safe hands with me.
(Y/N): Really safe hands.
Ruby: That's what I said.
Does Ruby really not have the concept of sarcasm? I sighed and crossed my arms.
(Y/N): When are we going to be leaving?
Ruby: Uncle Qrow said that he needed to send a letter to someone, then we can leave.
(Y/N): Finally. We have been waiting for an hour.
I looked up to see Qrow walking towards us.
Qrow: Alright guys. We can leave now.
I got up and grabbed my bag.
Yang: Can you carry my bag for me?
(Y/N): Do you want me to carry you too?
Yang: You'll do that for me?
(Y/N): No.
I walked away from Yang. I could hear her groan. I smiled to myself. She quickly ran up to me.
Yang: You really are mean sometimes.
(Y/N): I'm not going to be doing everything for you. You can't rely on me for everything.
Yang: I know. I just didn't want to carry my bag.
(Y/N): You have got lazy.
Yang: I'm not lazy. I just take a lot of breaks.
Me and Yang got on the train. We walked into our cabin and put our bags down. I laid down on one of the beds.
(Y/N): Do you know how long this trip will be?
Yang: I think Qrow said something like a few hours.
I groaned.
(Y/N): But that's so long.
Yang: Quit acting like a baby.
I looked up to see Ruby and Weiss walked in.
Ruby: It won't be so bad. You do have your girlfriend.
Weiss: I'm still surprised that you two got together.
(Y/N): What is that supposed to mean?
I looked at Weiss.
Weiss: I just would never thought. I am happy for you two.
(Y/N): That's what I thought. Is the train about to go?
I felt the train starting to move.
Ruby: There is your answer.
I sighed and got up.
(Y/N): Is there anything we can do to pass the time?
Ruby: I brought a board game.
(Time skip)
Me, Yang, Weiss, and Ruby are sitting on the ground. We have been playing for an hour now.
(Y/N): How have we been playing for an hour and made no progress?!
Ruby: Yang! Attack you with my Army!
Yang: You just activated my trap card, Nevermore!
Ruby: Now you have to roll the dice. If you roll a seventeen or higher then I lose, but under that and the Nevermore will turn against you and destroy your base!
Yang: That's a risk I'm willing to take.
She picked up the dice and rolled it. It landed on eighteen.
Ruby: NO!
Yang: Looks like you are out the game sis.
Ruby got up and walked to a corner and started to sulk. At least some progress has been made.
Yang: Alright Weiss, your turn.
Weiss: Um... I play this one.
She put down on a card that showed a pack of Grimm. She was trying to attack my base. I looked through my deck. I played a card that would block her upcoming attack.
(Y/N): I guess you just wasted your card.
Weiss: How do you have so many defensive cards? Every attack I do on you, you just block it.
(Y/N): Are you sure this deck is shuffled properly?
Ruby: Yeah, I shuffled it like ten times.
Yang: I just took down your base Weiss.
Weiss: What? How?
Yang: I played the dragon Grimm card, which instantly destroys any base.
Ruby: How did you get that?! There is only one card like that in the entire deck!
Yang: You have to believe in the heart of the cards!
I guess Weiss is out now.
Yang: Your turn (Y/N).
(Y/N): I play the Atlas army.
Yang: You have to roll the di-
(Y/N): I get it. Roll the stupid dice.
I rolled it and got a perfect twenty.
(Y/N): What does twenty do?
Yang looked at the rule book and quickly closed it.
Yang: It does nothing special.
Ruby: It does though. If you roll a twenty, then your attack goes through all defense cards and does double damage.
(Y/N): Oh... that means I win!
Yang: NO! How could I loss to you?! You got lucky, that's all!
(Y/N): Why do you take these games so seriously? It doesn't really matter who wins. It's about having fun.
Yang: But it's fun when I win.
Yang started to pout. I guess she really is upset that she lost. I got up and hugged her, trying to comfort her.
(Y/N): Look on the bright side, you won against Ruby and Weiss.
Yang: You're right. I did win.
(Y/N): I guess you did in a way.
I heard a knock on the door. I got up and opened it.
Qrow: Hey kiddos. There are some Grimm heading towards the train. We are going out to deal with them. Go get your weapons.
He walked away. Everyone got their weapons.
Yang: You want to see who can kill more Grimm?
(Y/N): Sure, even though I'll beat you.
Yang: This won't end up like that stupid board game.
