WARNINGS: Slight angst

This is basically about how they wrote the song. For the sake of this story the song will be entirely written and composed by Ikon. They wrote it in honor of their leader Hanbin/ BI. Please remember to support Ikon even though they are now 6 and also to support Hanbin in his solo career.

3rd Person's POV

Today is a sad day for the YG family, no one more so than Ikon. You see 2 years ago today their leader Hanbin, left the group as he got into a scandal that could destroy both his and Ikon's image. So in order to protect his members he left they company.

The YG family was heartbroken as they lost a talented, close friend of theirs that day. Those who knew him best were extremely upset. But nobody was more upset than his members themselves.

Jay, Song, Bobby, DK, June and Chan will never forget that day. Although they understood why he did it they still were disheartened and sometimes felt that it was their fault since he left to protect them.

*2 months before Ikon's comeback in 2021*

Chan's POV (PS - sorry if I write from Chan's POV a lot, he's the member I know best)

Today is the day that my hyungs and I will come together to create a song for our comeback in 2 months. Right now we are sitting in Bobby hyung's studio trying to come up with a concept for the song. After bouncing ideas off of each other I then think of a concept that I kept coming back to.

"Hyungs, why don't we do a emotional, ballad kind of song. It might be quite a vocal heavy song but I think it'll be a nice refresher from what we normally do and will also act as the calm before the storm since we're gonna be participating in Kingdom soon."

As soon as I said my idea I looked around the room to see everyone giving it a thought before indicating their agreement. Just then Jinhwan hyung said, "Great idea Chanu except what will the song be about. You know very well that these types of songs have to be very raw with feeling and the only way to do it properly is by basing it off of something that has actually happened to us."

I look at Donghyuk hyung and I give him a nod and he then starts to explain the idea we thought of a few days ago. "Actually hyung, Chanwoo and I already thought about that. Now before you guys say no to this hear us out. What if we did a song about Hanbin hyung and how much we miss him. The song would allow us to express our slight feelings of guilt and will also show the fans that we miss him just as much as they do. It will also show hyung that although he left, he will always be a part of us, no matter how far apart we are."

DK hyung finished our explanation and we looked around for some sort of reaction from the rest of the band. Slowly but surely they started to see where we were coming from and eventually agreed. Bobby hyung then said, "I think what we'll do is we each write a song or letter or something about our feelings about this topic then I shall combine it into one song and take it from there."

3rd Person POV

The 5 other boys nodded and they all got to work and poured out all their feelings into these few pieces of paper. Once they were all done they then combined it and changed some lyrics and pronouns so that netizens don't come for their heads, they created the beat for the song and distributed the lines among the 6 of them. 

And that is how the song came to be. 6 different songs about the feelings of 6 different individuals about how one person's departure changed their lives. These 6 songs that are now combined into one emotional yet powerful song that allowed them to finally release their feelings and allowed them to ask the simple question they've all been wondering.
