It Takes Two - Part Two
Henceforth, this story shall have no first-person POV. Also go read Another Side To The Hermits by MightysWolf, this arc was totally inspired by it.
Slowly, Stress opened her eyes. Every bone in her body ached from fatigue, and her head was throbbing as if a million horses were galloping on her skull, all at once. Looking around, she saw that she was in the G-Team base's weapons room. Tango, however, was nowhere to be found. Sighing, she groggily grabbed her sword and staggered out. After all, Tango might be in trouble.
Making her way down to the basement area, she took a look around. At first glance, nothing seemed amiss, just your everyday G-Team base... until she noticed that everything was branded with the letter 'M' instead of 'G'. Confused, she wandered to the other side of the balcony, only to find a sign that confused her yet more.
It read: "ZombieCleo's ZedaphPlays-inspired Peace Room/Torture Chamber"
Now utterly perplexed, Stress continued her search for Tango. Entering her armoury, she looked at the lockers. It seemed that whatever had changed affected here as well, as the heads were different. She supposed that the G-Team of this world consisted of those hermits: Mumbo, Impulse, Cleo, Joe, False, Ren and Python. She guessed that Grian, wherever he was, had been the mole in this world's STAR team.
"Stress? What are you doing here? This is M-Team property!" Grian's voice came from behind her. Turning her head, she saw that he was dressed smartly in his red Architechs suit, and covered in Redstone dust.
"What are YOU doing here? The war ended an age ago!" Retorted Stress.
"Looking for my buckets. I've checked everywhere: my storage system, all of Cub's various shulker zones, the STAR team base, False and Ren's lab, your and Iskall's fairy hole thing, Mumbo's... whatever that mess is... But that's not the point! You're STAR team, but you're in the M-Team base."
"Hon, I'm not STAR. I'm G-Team."
"And so am I!" Tango's voice suddenly resounded.
Grian spun around, sporting an expression of pure shock. "Wha- Tango!? What is going on?"
Stress breathed a sigh of relief she did not know she had been holding in. Now she had backup, she was safe. Right? Right?
The mist scrapes at the tree, revealing a word: "MEANWHILE"
Cub sat back and smiled at his handiwork. He was so happy that the typo he'd made had led to this: free cookies. He'd always been leaning towards the good side of Chaotic Neutral, and this 'Jingler' persona let him embrace it fully. He sometimes wondered what would have happened if Mumbo Holmes had assumed that he was simply the Jangler, and left it at that.
All of a sudden, bright blue beams of light popped up all over the server. The wind around them stirred, and they went out one by one. Startled, Cub contacted Entropy, connecting to the others.
"Did anybody else see that?"
"See what?" Grian hadn't seen anything.
"Mumbo, X and I didn't see whatever you saw." Iskall was a negative.
"What, those weird blue beams? I'm the only one at the Country Club who saw them." Strange. Scar had seen them, but nobody else had. Perhaps it was to do with Vex magic.
His job done, Cub made his way to one of the nearer places a beam had shown up: the STAR team base. Swooping down, he planted his feet on the top of the turtle. The building on top looked so much better without Grian's fringe on it. Clambering to ground level, he quickly pushed the door to the underground section, ready to dodge phantoms.
As he ran down the stairs, he heard a faint groaning, in Impulse's voice.
"Impulse? Is that you? I'm coming!" Cub continued making his way down the stairs. Thank goodness it was him to the rescue, not Scar. Scar would probably demand some kind of ransom, and that would only end badly.
Rounding the corner, he saw Impulse pinned to the ground by a chair. But something was very off. Instead of his usual outfit, he was wearing an outfit like Tango's. Cub watched as Impulse blearily opened his eyes, and he mumbled:
"Cub? Why... why are you wearing Scar's hat?"
And cliffhanger! I'll finish this eventually...
This took on a reasonable 703 words. At some point I'll calculate an average chapter length.
This has been Pi, I'll see y'all at some point in the future!
