One Day Before The Murder

Chapter 1: One Day Before The Murder

It was a regular day with the gang (we haven't decided on a name to call us so we use gang). I was a high school dropout and never saw going to school again in my future. Our gang hung out on Freedwen Way near a bunch of abandoned buildings. Most people were scared of us, but its not like we carried guns or anything. My parents officially kicked me out when I turned 18, when they realized that I wasn’t going anywhere in life. I lived in a tiny apartment with all of the other screw ups a.k.a my band members. But I couldn’t lie, I was enjoying life. We went to a whole lot of parties and we earned our money by taking a bunch of part time jobs. Some of our gang members steal money out of the cash registers at  the places that they work. I just did my job and quit each job within a week.

My best friend Cara was just like me. In fact she was the one that introduced me to the gang.

I did have a sister but she was the amazing one that my parents were always behind. She actually did something with her life. My parents don’t even try to contact me anymore, they have basically give up. My family is the gang. My sister on the other hand was always trying to contact me, but I never called her back, emailed her back, her and I just were so different. Any time I saw her, she always tried to change me into someone just like her.

I did have cousins and grandparents but none of them really tried to contact anymore, because like I told you, they all think of me as the screw up of the family. But don’t let that fool you, it makes me feel more powerful.

I had learned how to ride a motorcycle since the gang always rode around on their motorcycles. I already had my licence to drive a car but as Cara  told me ‘Cars don’t give the same effect as Motorcycles.’

Lately I had been working more, since I was saving up to buy my own motorcycle. As of now I was working at the local Starbucks, as well as the local Stop and Shop. I had been working at Starbucks for 2 weeks now, and Stop and Shop for 1 month now. The only reason that I hadn’t quit yet, was that I needed a motorcycle. Then I would finally feel like a true gang member.

My boyfriend (also from the gang) have been going out for over a year now. We had a weird yet awesome kind of love. I didn’t see marriage is our future but I knew  that one day it would happen. His name is Nick Drewken and he really is the best boyfriend a girl can have.

I never thought of having a family because I knew what a suckie mother I would be.

The gang had a couple dogs that we owned together. They were my children. We had a total of 5: 2 Boxer dogs, 1 German Shepherd, 1 Dalmatian, and 1 Chocolate lab. I had actually gone and rescued both Boxer Dogs so of course they were my favorite.

Just because I am in a gang, doesn’t mean I wear all black. I am actually into fashion. I was always trying to get in to the latest fashions. Even my motorcycle helmets were all Neon, and fancy. Really no one in our gang wore all black. Plus wearing all black out in the open really scares people. We want to be intimidating, not pee your pants scary. Our gang really was different from the rest.

Now that is just a little bit about myself. Oh and one more thing. My name is Quinn Nepli , but most of my gang members call me Q. Who knows why. Maybe because its shorter. But now Q is pretty much the only thing people call me. My family are the only ones who still call me Quinn.

Most of my life was the gang. But I do have a life outside of the gang. When I was in school I did have many friends. The ones who did not become part of the gang, and had lives were always taking me out.

Personally I could not imagine my life turning out any different. I wasn't a kind of person who worked hard for things. I took little jobs, I rode around on motorcycles, and I hung out with my gang. There really is not much more to me than that. I loved living a simple life. Nothing was better than being the person that I was meant to be.

Overall life for me was pretty good. I didn’t have any enemies but I did have a lot of friends, which is all anyone could really ask for.

I did not have the picture perfect life, but it was perfect to me, and in the end that is really all that matters.
