Relationships

Parental Figures
The Yeshuian society has an unique parent-child relationship system. The parent of Yeshuian children is referred to as Teshuan which is a title that signifies an individual as a parent and teacher. The Teshuan is one individual who is charged with caring for, teaching, and raising five Yeshuian children. Teshuans are not biologically related to the children and the children are not biologically related to one another. Instead, the authorities assign the Teshuan with up to five children to raise at a time. Often the children are assigned in intervals but each case varies with the capabilities and strengths of the Teshuan. The Teshuan raises each child  from infancy until they reach maturity. Maturity varies between the individuals, but the Teshuan is able to tell when a child has reached their own maturity. In other words, maturity is not about biology or age but rather an individual's capability of caring for themself. Once a child reaches maturity they are released from the Teshuan's care and move on to the next stage in their life independently.

Siblings
Yeshuian sibling relationships are unique in that those who share a sibling bond are technically not biologically related. Due to the way Yeshuian children are raised (see Cultural Society for more info) the children who are raised together are typically not biologically related. Aside from the peculiarity the sibling relationship simulates companionship and a healthy sense of peer competition. Yeshuian sibling bonds also act as peer social teachers in which they learn how to interact with others through interaction with siblings. The sibling relationship is considered crucial and indispensable in Yeshuan culture.

Friendships
Friendship is an important part of Yeshuian life. Companions or friends are considered to be a close tie to another individual in which those two or more people share an emotional bond created through multiple meaningful encounters. Friendships are made when one individual reaches out to another and the gesture is returned upon another occasion. Similarities between the individuals are not necessary to form a friendship. The only thing needed to form a friendship is two individuals reach out to one another on an emotional level to help one another.

Significant Others
Yeshuians only truly fall in love once. The reason for this has a lot to to with their telepathic abilities and brain chemistry. When a Yeshuian truly falls in love with another their telepathy allows them to connect their psyche to the psyche of the one they love. This connection is directly linked to the production of Phenylethylamine which is a chemical that releases dopamine and norepinephrine aka happiness. That psychic connection only happens once, and is forever linked to the person the Yeshuan has fallen in love with. It's a bond that can not be broken, even if the love is not returned. The connection also enhances a Yeshuian's empathic abilities in regards to the person they connect with. The connection allows the Yeshuian to intimately feel the emotion of the person they have connected with. For various reasons many Yeshuians do not allow themselves to fall in love and avoid becoming too attached to one person. Culturally, it has even become somewhat of a taboo on the home world since "falling in love" is now seen as a type of dependency upon another individual. Typically the only people of the Yeshuian race that allow themselves this connection are the Scouts (see Cultural Society for more info), who use this connection as a way of better understand the people and culture they were sent out to research.

Strangers and Acquaintances
Strangers or individuals that a Yeshuian is unfamiliar with are treated with respect and kindness until that person proves to be a threat. If that person is a threat they are then avoided. Acquaintances are treated but the same, but Yeshuians tend to be more friendly with acquaintances than they are with strangers.

Allies
Allies are given the upmost respect by Yeshuians. They hold their allies in high esteem and cater to their allies needs and requests with little objection. Yeshuians aim make everyone their allies if at all possible.

Enemies
Yeshuians do not consider any one to be an enemy, only people who are threats. They give every effort to resolve the situation. No situation is considered hopeless or lost. In other words Yeahuians believe that any group no matter how oppositional can be made peace with.
