Katsuki lip reads in this. Lip reading is super hard, so obviously he wouldn't catch every single word, but he's smart enough to take the key words and fill in the blanks. I'm just filling the blanks in to make it easier to read.

Ever since the day in the living room, Katsuki had been avoiding Shoto like the plague. If the dual haired boy entered a room, Katsuki was scurrying to leave, except for class of course. That he just had to suffer through.

The two toned smug bastard now thought Katsuki thought he was cute! And it was all Midoriya's fault. Katsuki didn't even think that! Mostly.

Okay, so there were worst looking guys in class, but that didn't mean Katsuki thought he was cute!

It had been nearly a week since then, which meant that more and more of the class was being taught asl by Midoriya. And of course the nerd was taking it way to seriously, giving them notes and little worksheets that would help them, even sending out videos to help them practice.

Katsuki couldn't help the very, very small smile that made it's way onto his face as he realized that in a span of a few weeks, nearly twenty kids were trying to learn a different language just so they could talk to him. He had never felt so.... included? Cared about? He wasn't positive, but it sure as hell was a foreign feeling.

Most of the class could now introduce themselves in sign and hold a very basic conversation. Katsuki was trying really hard to stay patient with them, seeing as he had had the same conversation with all of them every single day. It got repetitive when all they could ask was 'how are you?', but he wasn't a complete asshole and knew that they were trying for him, so he took a deep breath and signed slowly.

Katsuki was scrolling through his phone on the couch, sitting next to Midoriya while Kirishima sat in front of the green haired boy. They were both happily chatting away and Katsuki couldn't care less about what their conversation entailed. Until he looked up and caught some of Kirishima's words.

"-wish I knew more sign so I could actually hold a real conversation with him."

"I can read lips dumbass." Katsuki spoke up, keeping his head raised to catch what Kirishima would say back. His voice was raspy, as to be expected when he rarely used it.

"I know that, but I know how hard that is. Plus Midoriya said you don't like talking and I don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything." Kirishima said back, making sure that he kept his head up so Katsuki had a clear view of his mouth.

"It's not that I don't like to talk, it's just fucking weird to not hear what I'm saying. Plus I have no god damn clue how loud I'm being." Katsuki explained with a small shrug. He had always been a loud person, so he knew that semi yelling was his default and he couldn't exactly hear to adjust the volume. When he did talk, on occasion, he'd normally just have Midoriya or his parents tell him if he needs to quiet down.

Kirishima nodded in understanding. "Yeah, that would be super weird."

Midoriya tugged on Katsuki's sleeve lightly to gain his attention. "I can just interpret if you want."  He signed, knowing that lip reading was straining for Katsuki.

Katsuki shrugged again. "Just sign what he's saying, I can talk." He said.

(I'm just gonna have them talk, but know that Midoriya is signing everything he and Kiri say)

"So what'd you wanna know shitty hair?" Katsuki asked, turning back to Kirishima for a second.

"I thought he called me dumb hair?" Kirishima asked, slightly offended all over again.

"There isn't exactly a sign for 'shitty' in that context, so he settled for dumb hair, but talking he can say whatever he feels like I guess." Midoriya said with a shrug.

"Y'know, our hair isn't that different bro." Kirishima said.

"Yes, yes it is. My hair's a lot less shitty." Katsuki said back, but his eyes were averted from the two boys when he saw a head of red and white hair walk into the room. He tried to get up and leave, but Midoriya grabbed his wrist.

"Nope, you have to deal with this eventually. Everyone's starting to notice how you avoid him. It looks suspicious Kacchan." Midoriya said with a teasing smile, letting Katsuki read his lips seeing as his hands were busy holding the blond in place.

"I hate you, so much." Katsuki grumbled.

Midoriya just signed 'I love you' in return because he could do that with one hand.

Katsuki narrowed his eyes at his childhood friend. "If you loved me, you'd let me go."

Unfortunetly, Kaminari had just been walking over to their little group and had heard what he said and instantly broke out into song. "IF YOU LOVE ME LET ME GOOOOOOOO!" He sang loudly, making everyone in the common area look over at him.

Shoto's eyes moved from one blond to the next, raising an eye brow when he noticed that Katsuki was already staring at him. Katsuki instantly averted his eyes, but Shoto decided to just go over to their group. He wasn't stupid either, he knew that Katsuki had been avoiding him all week, but from the sight of him and Midoriya, he wasn't going to be running away any time soon.

"Oh, hey Todoroki!" Midoriya said with a beaming grin.

"Hello Midoriya." The two toned teen said, taking a seat on the floor next to Kirishima and in front of Katsuki.

"Well there goes my chance to have a conversation with Bakubro. He gets all moody when you're around." Kirishima said with a small smile to Shoto, knowing why he gets moody. Midoriya may or may not have told him about the whole 'cute sign fiasco'.

Shoto shrugged. "Sorry." He said, but no one really thought he meant it.

Katsuki had looked away from them, keeping his eyes trained on a window on the other side of the room. Midoriya tugged on his sleeve again, making him sign and turn to his friend.

"Don't be rude."  He signed sternly.

"I don't want to talk to him." Katsuki signed back.

"You know, my favorite thing about sign language, is the fact that you have to point at the person you're talking about." Shoto spoke up, making Midoriya squeak and turn to him wide eyed.

"What'd he say this time?" Katsuki said with a sigh, turning to Shoto.

"That I know you're signing about me." Shoto restated for him.

"Lovely." Katsuki said sarcastically. "Trust me, it was all bad things."

"Oh I'm sure. I mean, who'd want to be called cute? At least call me hot or something." Shoto said, his face not giving away any of his emotions, like usual.

Katsuki's face on the other hand, turning bright pink as he registered what he had said. "This is why I didn't want to talk to him." He hissed at Midoriya.

"I didn't say you had to." Midoriya said and signed back.

"Yes, yes you did nerd." Katsuki said back, letting his head hit the back of the couch as he closed his eyes. "Ha ha fuckers, can't hear or see you now." He said.

Kirishima tried and failed to hold in his laughter at the statement. Midoriya looked thoroughly annoyed with his friend, and Shoto's eyebrows were slightly scrunched in question.

"Does he... do this often?" Shoto asked, turning to Midoriya.

"All the time." Midoriya said with a slight whine as he let his head droop.

Shoto raised his eye brows in slight surprise before reverting back to his blank face. He lifted his right hand and lightly grabbed Katsuki's pant leg, making the blond's face scrunch up in confusion, but he still refused to open his eyes. Then Shoto activated his quirk.

Katsuki's eyes flew open as he lifted his legs onto the couch and away from Shoto's reach. "Did you just freeze my fucking pants?" He asked, looking at the ice on his pant leg.

Shoto nodded. "I can melt it if you want."

The blond's eyes moved from Midoriya's signing back to Shoto, narrowing as they went. "Then my leg would just be wet, jackass."

"The heat would dry it, smartass." Shoto said back in a challenging tone that Katsuki couldn't hear, but he still knew it was there.

Katsuki rolled his eyes at him. "Whatever, I'm gonna go change." He said, marching his way out of the living room and over to the elevators.

Once he was gone, Midoriya turned to Shoto shaking his head with a smile. "You guys have a weird way of flirting."
