When Katsuki woke up, everything was fuzzy. He had to blink a few times before he could even make out shapes of things around him. Eventually his vision cleared up and he was able to see that he was in the nurse's office at UA.

He brought a hand up to his head, rubbing the side where there was a dull throb. How did he get there? He couldn't remember what happened.

He traced back to the last morning he remembered. He was hanging out with Shoto and Midoriya because Kirishima had gone to train. They hung out for most of the day before Shoto dragged him off for their sort of date. They went to the same park as their first date and star gazed. While they were starting to head back they were.... attacked by a group of villains!

Suddenly Katsuki sat bolt upright and looked around for someone, anyone else. He needed to know what happened, if Shoto was okay. He couldn't remember much after the first few punches were thrown.

Recovery Girl walked back into her office and saw Katsuki looking around frantically. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down! You need to lay down Bakugou! I know you're freaked out, but you're going to hurt yourself if you don't calm down." She scolded, pushing him to lay back down.

Katsuki snapped his ruby eyes to her. "Where's Shoto?" He asked, bringing a hand up to his throat as he talked.

The old nurse looked at him with sympathy in her eyes. "Bakugou, can you hear me?" She asked him.

The blond slowly shook his head, having read her lips.

She heaved a sigh and pulled out a paper and pencil from a drawer in her desk. It would be easier on him if he read written words rather than try to read her lips.

Todoroki is just fine, he was dragged out of here by Aizawa for some questioning. Would you like me to go get Midoriya for now?

Katsuki read her note quickly and then gave a small nod.

Recovery Girl nodded back and placed the paper and pencil on his bed, before walking out of the office again to go find the green haired boy.

Katsuki was left alone, once again in complete silence. That was when it started to sink in that he was once again deaf. He tried his hardest to hold himself together and not think about all the things he was going to miss, but it was hard. It was really, really hard and in the end he couldn't stop the tears that fell from his eyes at the poisonous thoughts.

He pressed the heels of his palms into his eyes in an attempt to stop the tears, but nothing could stop the sobs that left his lips, growing stronger when it hit him that he couldn't hear them either.

He wasn't sure how long he was left alone, but suddenly there were arms wrapped around him. He was startled and tried to get away from them, until a hand directed his face to look at the person who held him. He was soon face to face with Shoto.

"Sh-Sho, I can't- I can't hear!" He said, not having the energy to using his hands and sign it.

He watched as realization made it's way across Shoto's face, before he was pulled into another tight hug. Katsuki clung to Shoto's shirt as his face was pressed into his chest, just letting his sobs ring through the room, not caring who saw or heard.

The dual haired teen shifted them around to He was leaning back on Katsuki's bed and the blond was laying on his chest. He made no move to push him away or berate him for crying, which Katsuki appreciated and knew he wouldn't do in the first place, but sometimes thoughts like that attacked his mind.

He was supposed to be this big, bad person who had no weakness and never slipped up and it was a lot of pressure. Sometimes it was nice to just have someone hold him while he fell apart.

A few minutes later, Midoriya raced into the room, freezing at the sight in front of him. Recovery Girl walked in shortly after, but left when she saw what was happening. She wanted to give the boys some privacy.

"Todoroki, what happened?" Midoriya asked hesitantly, scared for the answer.

"I told you he wouldn't leave. He stayed and he had to use his quirk to fight the villains." Shoto said in a far off whisper, staring blankly at the wall ahead of him.

"So he- he can't-" Midoriya tried to ask, but he didn't want to break down. He wasn't the one who was deaf again. He had no right to cry and he needed to be strong for his best friend.

"He can't hear, Midoriya."

(Time Skip to like a yearish later)

"Helix, are you sure this is a good idea?" Midoriya asked the nurse, clear signs of hesitation in his voice.

"Absolutely not, but what's the worse that could happen?" She asked back with a goofy grin.

"I don't like the sound of that." Shoto spoke up as his grip on Katsuki's hand tightened.

"Well he doesn't know the sound of that, so doesn't this seem like a better idea than nothing?" Helix asked, tying her purple hair up in a messy bun. She had work she needed to do if this was going to turn out good.

"Damn, this lady has no chill." Kirishima muttered to his boyfriend.

Midoriya nodded. "She spends all her time with Recovery Girl, the woman is a bad influence."

They watched as Helix knelt down in front of the hospital bed Katsuki and Eri were currently standing on. "Okay, you know what to do, right?" She asked the young girl.

Eri nodded, nervous but still smiling. The little girl really did just want to help people, and from what Helix had told her, she was about to really help someone.

Eri stood up and walked across the bed to sit directly in front of Katsuki. The teen was a bit intimidating, but he did his best to smile at her to try and put her at ease. It seemed to work at least a little bit because she smiled back.

She raised her hands to Katsuki's ears and activated her quirk.

"Are you sure this is safe?" Shoto asked Helix, seeing as she was the only adult that was supervising the, probably illegal, medical procedure they were completely winging and making up as they went.

"Not a clue!" She said, her voice as bubbly as ever.

The students had come to learn that Helix was a lot like Mei, in the fact that she really only cared about her medical discoveries and she wasn't entirely... there.

"Dear lord." Kirishima mumbled.

Once Eri was done, she moved back so that Helix could take over. The purple haired woman moved into her spot and kneel in front of Katsuki, moving his head around in all different directions as she looked at his ears.

"Hey! Careful!" Shoto barked at her as he saw Katsuki wince.

The blond squeezed his hand. "Sho, it's okay."

"Oh great, you can hear again!" Helix said happily, finishing with her inspection of Katsuki's head and ears.

The blond nodded and let out a breath of relief. Eri's part was really the hardest of the whole operation. Now that she fixed him, Helix just had to make sure he stayed hearing this time.

"Okay, now that Eri has given you the ears of a ripe nine-ish year old, I just need to reinforce... well everything in your ears. If all goes well, you should keep your hearing until you're like- forty or fifty, but even then it'll fade out gradually and hearing aids should work wonders." Helix explained, lifting her hands and placing them over Katsuki's ears.

Once again they glowed a bright blue for a few minutes as she worked. She let them drop to her sides and smiled at Katsuki when she was all finished. "There you go kid. Have fun, but be careful for a few days. It's like when you glue something in place, you need to wait for the glue to dry or else it'll crumble. By next week you should be completely cleared for training again." She said, beaming at him.

Katsuki's eyes wandered to his boyfriend and then his friends that had come with him. No one had expected him to pull the crazy purple haired nurse into a tight hug and thank her, but the hug and thanks Eri received was a bit more anticipated.

Once he had thanked both girls, he was pulled out of the nurses office by his boyfriend and followed closely by his friends. In the hallway, Shoto pulled him into a tight hug.

"You can hear again." The dual haired boy whispered.

"I can hear again." Katsuki whispered back.

"Aw shit, did we miss it?" Mina's voice rang out.

The only students who had come for the actual operation were Shoto, Midoriya and Kirishima. The others of the Bakusquad had missed it for extra classes they had to take because they were all failing. Kirishima would have had to take them to, if his smart ass boyfriend hadn't studied with him.

"Yeah you did, raccoon eyes." Katsuki said, not even looking at them.

"Hell yeah! Bakubro can hear again!" Kaminari cheered, forgetting that Katsuki had never been able to hear the squad call him 'Bakubro'.

Katsuki lifted his head to glare at the blond. "What the hell did you just call me?" He asked slowly.

Kaminari swallowed thickly at the deadly look in Katsuki's eyes. "I-I- I didn't-"

"Babe, you have to be really careful right now, remember?" Shoto whispered to him, making Katsuki sigh.

"Fine, but Pikachu? Next week, you're dead." Katsuki threatened.

"Why is it always me?" Kaminari asked with a groan.

"Well he can't touch Kirishima because he's Midoriya's boy toy," Mina started.

"Hey!" Kirishima said in offense.

"He won't touch me outside of training because I'm a girl." She continued, like she didn't hear him. "And Sero usually stays out of his business. You on the other hand, seem to tick him off like it's an Olympic sport."

Kaminari nodded with a hand on his chin. "Yeah, that's valid."

"I've been able to hear you guys for five minutes and I'm already contemplating going deaf again." Katsuki said, dragging his boyfriend with him as he walked past his group of idiots.

Once he was back in his dorm with Shoto next to him, he sank into yet another hug.

"You were kidding about going deaf again, right?" Shoto asked him, clearly worried that the others had officially annoyed him too much.

Katsuki snorted at the question. "Of course I was kidding. I wouldn't give up hearing your voice for anything." He said.

Shoto softly chuckled at how cheesy his boyfriend was being. "I love you, Katsuki." He said, placing a kiss on the top of the blond's head.

Katsuki hummed into his chest. "I love you too."
