"Midoriya, I need you to teach me as much sign language as physically possible in one night."

"T-Todoroki, that's... that's a lot of signs..." Midoriya said nervously over the phone, unsure what else to tell the other boy.

"I realize that, doesn't change anything." Shoto said, already heading to the other boy's dorm room. He didn't have a lot of time, but thankfully a majority of sign language was just memorizing the signs and a few structural differences. Shoto knew he had a good memory, so he was gonna try as hard as he could.

"I- Todoroki, that's a lot to ask of me and yourself. You're gonna burn yourself out." Midoriya pleaded, trying to reason with the other boy. He knew there was little to no chance of him being able to change Shoto's mind, but he thought he should at least put up a fight.

Shoto hung up the call, knocking on Midoriya's door. The green haired boy answered it with a heavy sigh a few seconds later. "This won't be my first time learning a language over night." Shoto said with a shrug.

Midoriya gaped at him.

"My father had a business dinner and didn't find out that they only spoke Mandarin Chinese until two days before. He was forcing me to attend, so I needed to figure it out fast." Shoto explained, obviously noting the disbelief on Midoriya's face.

"You learned Mandarin Chinese in two days?!" He shouted.

"Enough to fake my way through a business dinner and no, it wasn't two days. It was one. My father knew two days ahead of time, but he didn't think to grace me with the information until the night before." Shoto said, walking right into Midoriya's dorm, stopping when a curious sight caught his eye.

"Dude, why're you here?" A groggy looking Kirishima asked, sitting up on his elbows in Midoriya's bed.

Shoto just raised a questioning eyebrow at Midoriya.

"Calm down, we were hanging out after the whole elevator thing and he passed out." Midoriya explained, trying to hide his embarrassment.

Shoto nodded, accepting the answer as reasonable. "Midoriya's going to teach me sign language." He answered the redhead.

"Isn't he already doing that? Along with most of the class?" Kirishima asked, his brain not comprehending what Shoto was saying, seeing as he had woken up only a few minutes ago.

"Todoroki thinks he can become fluent in one night and apparently I have to teach him instead of his boyfriend." Midoriya said sassily, moving from his door back to his bed. He sat criss-cross at the end of it, watching Shoto.

"I don't think I can, I know I can, he's not my boyfriend yet, and he can't teach me because I'm trying to surprise him." Shoto said, crossing his arms over his chest and staring right back at Midoriya, almost in a challenging manner.

Midoriya stuck his tongue out in a childish manner. "First off, don't think I didn't notice the  whole 'yet' thing, we'll circle back to that later. Second, you don't get to be all sassy, seeing as you're forcing me to stay up all night and try to teach you an entire language." He said sternly. He was going to be up for hours, trying to teach him how to sign, he didn't want to deal with his attitude as well.

"Fine, can we just start?" Shoto asked him, dropping his arms in defeat.

Midoriya's face split into a wide grin. "Yup!"

Katsuki spent the entire next day in his room. He refused to leave, only letting Midoriya in once to bringing him food. He was allowed to stick around for about ten minutes before Katsuki kicked him out. To Kirishima's surprise, Midoriya was smiling widely when he was kicked out by a scowling Katsuki.

"Why are you so... happy right now?" The redhead asked him, just having left his own dorm room. Midoriya had made his way over to him when he caught his eye, he was nearly skipping.

Midoriya looked up and down the hallway, making sure they were alone. Kirishima looked at him in confusion, but let out a small gasp when he was forcefully pulled back into his dorm. "You have to promise not to tell!" Midoriya told him.

Kirishima nodded, a smile making it's way onto his own face now.

"Kacchan's hiding because he's nervous about his date with Todoroki tonight! I teased him about it and he kicked me out." Midoriya explained in a childish whisper, enjoying the fact he was gossiping with his crush.

"Really? Bakubro's actually hiding away because he's nervous about a date?" Kirishima asked in disbelief.

"Mhm! He's gonna be so freaked out Todoroki just starts signing to him." Midoriya said, bouncing slightly in excitement.

He was genuinely happy for his bestfriend. After he lost his hearing in middle school, he became isolated with only Midoriya to rely on. No one else even cared enough to try and learn the only language Katsuki had. The fact that Shoto actually cared enough to learn the language in one night for a date... it just completely floored Midoriya.

Kirishima pulled him into a tight hug. "You're a great friend, you know that right?" He asked, wanting Midoriya to know that he was truly one of the best people he knew.

Midoriya sighed into the embrace, letting his head rest on Kirishima's chest. "Yeah, I've been told once or twice." He said teasingly.

"Good." Kirishima chirped.

Shoto took a deep breath, staring at Katsuki's dorm door. It was currently six o'clock, meaning that Katsuki had to be expecting him. He was just hoping that he would scare the blond again by suddenly walking into his dorm.

With a final nervous breath, he pushed the door open slowly. His eyes scanned the room and locked onto Katsuki, who had snapped his head up at the sign of movement.

"Hey, you ready?"  Shoto signed to him with the faintest smile.

Katsuki's eyes widened in surprise. "He taught you more sign?" He asked out loud, not realizing that he didn't need to anymore.

"I might have forced him to teach me all of it."  Shoto signed, looking only a smidge guilty for it.

"What a charmer, half and half."
