The sky changing its shade to a darker one with each passing minute...
The big cotton balls in the sky ready to begin their quarrel..
People ran for covers and the rain sprinkling on the roads forming puddles...
It was almost midnight...
But it seemed as if it was the rebirth of the city!
All fresh and breathing clean air!
Raindrops were sputtering on the windshields as if trying to create a new picture!!

Nandini always loved the monsoon showers.....
It brought her back memories which made her eyes twinkle!

Her mother!!!!

Her mother loved the rains....
They lived in a small house, built high upon a hill with a courtyard in the middle...
The rain first kissed them and then went on its happy trails..
Nandini ,Navya and her mother enjoyed the rains by happily drenching in it standing in the courtyard....
After the cold showers,the hot elaichi wala chaai, her mother served!!!
The taste of it was reminisced by her mouth in this cold weather!

Here she was with Mr.Akdu....
Dat too in his car!!!
She couldn't think anything worse than this

Just when Nandini was lost in her beautiful memories
She exclaims!!!!

N:Woh dekho!

M:What?

N:Chaiwala!!!

M:So?

N:Kya so so kar rahe ho!!!mujhe chaai peena hai!!

M:Oh Helloo!!!hum picnic pe nahi aaye hain!!!
I am just dropping you home!
Now shut Ur mouth!

N:No no!!!tum gaadi roko!!I will get down here...vaise bhi ghar paas mein hi hai!!main chalke jaaungi....

M:No way!!the car will only stop at Ur house!!!
Chup chap baitho!

N:Tumhara problem kya hai!!mujhe chaai peena hai....
Tum gaadi roko

M:No means no

The bickering continues!!!

N:Dekho tum,agar gaadi nahi rokoge.... toh!!!....

Nandini rolls her eyes pointing her index finger at him

M:Toh?

N:Toh!!main khoodh jaaungi!!!
One.....two....three.....

Nandini acts as if she is going to jump out of the car

Manik stops the car

M:Eyy eyy....paagal ho tum???ek chaai ke liye khoodhne Jaa rahi ho!!!
Really!!!R u out of ur mind!!! Haven't u ever drank tea in ur entire life!!!??

N:Bhashan Baad mein dena!!!ab aao mere saath!!

M:I am not coming!

N:Ok...mat aao...mujhe kyaa!

Nandini tries to get out

It was already after midnight
Thus Manik stops her

M:Wait!!!!!(sighs)
I will come!😁

Murmurs:Sab meri galti hai!!!lift Dena hi nahi chahiye tha..

Nandini smiles hearing him murmuring

M:Give me the umbrella

Nandini knowing that he would ask for the umbrella which was kept in the backseat,hides it in her handbag

N: There is no umbrella here!😝

M:What!!!!Hatto tum!

Manik searches for it!!!but finds nothing

He also searches for it in the front seat
Turns back

M:Look Nandini!!!..........

Manik finds the backseat empty

He finds Nandini drenching in the rain outside

Manik's Pov---
It was a heavenly sight
Her cream colour sareee and the floral print blouse were complimenting her complexion

(Check the chp"the surprise" for the picture of the saree)

Long black wavy hair strands on her face welcomed the incoming water droplets!

Manik couldn't take his eyes off her!
Serene beauty in front of him
Nothing less than a Greek goddess!

A car honk made Manik come out of his thoughts
He came out of the car, holding his hand above his head 😂

M:Listen Nandini,we don't hv an umbrella to walk to the teaman!

N:So??tumhara galti hai...u should hv stopped when I told u to!

Manik again starts to give his bhashan on how they should head towards their respective homes

Nandini unable to tolerate this,takes manik's hand in hers and starts walking!!🙈

Manik is shocked at this act of Nandini

But he is just a mute spectator

Neither does he refuse or pull his hand away

He walks behind her as if caught in a trance!

The rain beating gently against them!!

N:Bhayya do chaai dena!

It is only then our hero comes back to his senses

Even though Nandini had left his hand,he was still in the same position 😂

N:Helloo Mr!!Ghoor kyun rahe ho?

M:Kya??k...kuch nahi!

Just then Manik looks at himself!!
He was all wet from walking in the rain

M:Dekho,tumne kya kiya??
Kya zaroorat tha Yahaan aane ka!!
Already its late!!tumhe ghar nahi jaana?

N:Do minute chup nahi reh sakte ho tum?

M:U knw wat...I am gonna leave

N:Eyy!!!nahi nahi!!!chai toh peeke jaaooo!

The chaiwale bhayaa hands over the tea towards them

M:Kyun bhayaa!!aap is time pe bhi kaam karte ho?raat ke do baj chuka hai

Bhayya:Haan beta!!bus stand Yahaan se sirf ek kilometre hai!!!wahaan bohat sare passengers chaai khareedte hai!

M:Achaa!

N:Wo dekho!!hum wahaan aaram se baitke pee sakte hai!
Chalooo!

M(in his mind):Ohh god!kahaan aagaya hoon main!!kya kar Raha hoon!!😬

Manik walks with her to a shed which had a wooden bench

Both sit on it sipping their tea..

N:Kitna acha mausam hai na!

M:It's two in the morning!!ab tum mausam ki taarif kar rahe ho!!
Sach mein paagal ho tum!

Nandini gets annoyed

N:U knw wat..tum mujhe ek baat batao!!
Tumhe ache se baat karna nahi aata hai kya??

M:Aatha hai!!lekin tum jo kar rahi ho!!!yeh paagalpan hai!
Raat ke do baje chaai kaun peetha hai yaar?

N:Main peeti hoon!!
Dekho tum!!
Kitna quiet hai yeh jagah!!
This is called uninterrupted silence!!!
The only noise is of the sputtering raindrops...
Fresh air aur yeh chaai!!
Haaaaa!!!!this is the heaven on the earth!

M:Mujhe nahi lagta!!
I hv seen better!😂

N:I knw dat u hv!!
Lekin jo khushi choti choti cheezon se milti hai na woh bohat keemti hoti hai!!
They r priceless!!
Yeh raat!!!ek ajeeb sa Nasha hai isme!!
Pehli baarish ke baad jo khushboo aati hai na!!
Aisa lagta hai ki main apne maa ke god mein sar rakhkar so rahi hoon!!
Same feeling!!!

Purane din yaad aate hai!!
Mujhe apni maa yaad aati hai!!Aisa lagta hai ki main us khushboo Ko choo rahi hoon!!!
Meri maa ko choo rahi hoon!
Papa,mumma,main aur Navya!!!
Woh purane din!!kuch aise pal jo main puri zindagi yaad rakhungi!!

Manik was dumbstruck at her confession
He was amazed seeing how Nandini found happiness in these small things!
Even when she appears to be a strong lady,he was able to see the child in her tdy-in the way she was enjoying the rain

Nandini sees that Manik is lost somewhere!!!
She gives a mischievous grin!!
She holds her hand beneath the roof ...
Water was dripping from the roof...

"Splashhhhhhh"

She threw the water on Manik

Manik comes to his senses

M:What the..............

Nandini starts laughing
Her laughter fills his ears as soothing music...
He was like a plant in the desert which was getting drenched in the first shower-her laughter
It filled his heart ❤️

N:Waise!!!Alya tumhari girlfriend hai kya!!??

M:Kyaa???tum yeh sab Kyun pooch rahi ho??

N:Aise hi!! conversation badane ke liye!!
No problem!!mat batao!!😕😏

M:(he remembers something):Hmm...woh !!!

N:What?

M:Woh....r...Rohan kaun hai??

N(smiles):Nahi bataungi 😁

M:(annoyed):Fyn!!

N:Waise tum mujhe pooch rahe the na ki mujhe is time pe chaai kyun peena tha!!

N:Bachpan mein , main navya aur mumma baarish mein bheegte the!!

N:Baarish mein khel khoodke bimar pad jaaate the!!
Phir Papa office se aake sabko dhaandte the 😬😁😁
Then mumma to pacify him used to make this special elaichi wala chaai!!!
Hum sab saath milkar baahar courtyard pe baitkar bohat sare baatein karkar peete the!!
Isliye main jab bhi baarish mein bheegti hoon chaai pee leti hoon!!woh sab yaadon Ko taaza karne ke liye ☺️

Manik smiles listening to her story

Nandini is shocked seeing that

N:Areh areh!!!!aap smile kar rahe hai!!!

Achaa ab ghar chale..tumhare maapaa behen sab wait karte honge na

Hearing this Nandini's face drops

N:Kaash aisa hotha!!
Ab intezaar karne ke liye sirf Navya hai ghar pe!
Maapaa bohat saal pehle hi guzar gaye mere!

M:Ohhh!!!I am sorry!!mujhe nahi patha tha!!

N:Itss fynn!!!!
(Tries to lighten the mood)
Ab chale humare sweethearts ke paas?

M: Sweethearts???

N:Haan..tum kab se apne ghar jaane ke liye taras rahe ho!!
Aisa lagta hi ghar nahi apne beewi se milne jaa rahe ho!

M:Waahh!!Kya comparison hai!!!😂

N:Hmm main hoon bohat smart🤣🤣

Just then lightning strikes the sky ,followed by the thunderclap

N:Manikk!!!!!!!
She holds his hand in the split of the second closing her eyes tightly!

It was the first time Nandini had addressed him by calling his name

"Manik"

There was something different in the way she called him!

Unknown emotions were gushing in his heart

Manik smiles looking at her

M:Kuch der pehle toh tum bohat tareef ka Rahi thi na baarish ki!!
Lekin tumhe lightning se dar lagta hai

N:Haso mat tum!!
Haan dar lagta hai!!!

Nandini then notices how she had held to him tightly

Her face gets flushed unable to meet his sight
She slowly withdraws her hands

This makes Manik a bit sad,but he brushes the thought away!

M:Chale!!!?

N:Haan!!

They start walking towards the car

The rain had subsided by that time!!
Only the screams of the clouds were to be heard..
The painful cold wind was at its peak
Nandini was Shivering out of cold

Manik seeing her like dat,offers his coat....

Nandini feels an inhibition to accept it

Understanding this Manik forcefully makes her wear it

Nandini smiles

She was amazed to see a different Manik

This Manik was more carefree!

She saw him smile!!

The lips which usually curved to form a frown relaxed tdy in front of her!

They had already reached the car

M:Nandiniiiii......

N(coming out of her thoughts):Haannn!!!

M:Kis duniya mein ho tum??Kabse bula raha hoon!
Get in the car!

N:Wohh!!kuch nahi!bas aise hi....

This time Nandini chose the front seat itself

They drove to WINTERFELL VILLA

M:Hmm....so v will meet tmrw...in the office!

N:Ok!!!

Nandini tries to remove the seatbelt...
But it was stuck

Seeing her struggle with the seatbelt,Manik moves forward to help her

He was a just few inches away from her

His hotbreath was fanning her neck!

Her breath hitched in her throat

She was unable to breath!!!

The proximity was making her weak....

While Nandini was struggling with the newfound feelings,Manik was enjoying this😁😁

Manik through the corner of his eyes looked at her face
Her eyes were shut....
She was shining as the water droplets adorned her face
Her wet hair and smudged bindi made her more surreal!
She looked like a flower that had just bloomed....

M:(in his mind):Main kyun Aisa soch Raha hoon??..kyun har baar uske paas aana chaahta hoon..kyun khud Ko rok nahi paa Raha hoon!

Manik moves away as he takes out the belt

M:Ho gaya!

Nandini opens her eyes and finds Manik smirking..

Unable to meet his gaze she runs out of the car...

Then stops and turns around..

Her cheeks had a pink tinge...

N: Thank u!!!for the lift!!!
Goodnight...

M: Good morning!!!😂 And thanks for the midnight chaai!!!

Nandini gives him her best smile and runs inside...

Manik smiles looking at the retreating figure!!
