ooo. ⠀⠀⠀THE BAXTER FAMILY was a cliche American household. A couple who met in college and got married three years later only to pop out two kids shortly after. Two daughters. Twins. They lived on Maple Street in their picket-fence town. Jim worked a 9-to-5 office job while Izzy was a secretary for a law firm out of town. They made good money, and they were well known by their neighbors. Their daughters were athletic and smart and popular. Their daughters sporting their mother's long blond hair and their dad's cunning grin. The perfect mixes of them both.

ooo. ⠀⠀⠀ CYNTHIA BAXTER WAS ALL SUGAR, no spice, and everything nice. She was made of silk and diamonds. Pink bows tied her light blond hair back as she grinned in family photos. The world was at her fingertips, and the world seemed to be on its knees. She danced in cheer uniforms and frilly skirts, her mind up in the clouds just the way Hawkins liked it. She was naive and innocent. Too good for a town like this one. Too good for people like Tommy Hagan, but she loved him anyways. She let him sweep her off her feet like she was the damsel in distress he claimed she was. She let her bubble shrink to just him and their friends, the rest of the world shielded away from her as long as she dawned on Tommy's jacket.

ooo. ⠀⠀⠀ EVELYN BAXTER WAS ONLY SPICE. Rougher around the edges, she was made of denim and sewn-up patches. Her worn-out converse with doodles all over them never escaping her grasp even in photos with her nicely dressed family. She stormed the halls of Hawkins High in thick sweaters and blue jeans, her eyes always following her sister's oblivious figure. She hated this town. More specifically, the people in it. Everyone wanted to be perfect, too cocky and unrealistic. She hated people like Steve Harrington and Tommy Hagan, who had been convinced Evelyn's twin sister needed to be kept away in a tower of innocence so long as Cynthia dated Tommy. Evelyn hated it, but she didn't do anything to stop it. Why would she? Cynthia was happy. And Evelyn was free from the harsh words and painful shoves as long as Cynthia dawned on Tommy's jacket.

ooo. ⠀⠀⠀ NANCY WHEELER WAS NERVOUS. She had fallen for Hawkins' golden boy, Steve Harrington, and was entering an unfamiliar world. A world of parties, and popularity, and kisses in the girls bathroom. Then, something changed. Her best friend went missing. Her brothers best friend died. And Nancy's heart began to race as soon as she was in the same room as Evelyn Baxter. Her hands always finding the blonds. Her eyes lighting up when she spoke. Nancy didn't understand it, she didn't want to understand it. She tried to ignore every time Evelyn pushed Nancy's brown hair from her face, she really did. She tried and tried to push her feelings for Steve Harrington. She loved him, didn't she? She had to love him.

ooo. ⠀⠀⠀ JONATHAN BYERS WAS A REALIST. He didn't need to sugar coat things. He hated his life, he hated his dad, and he hated himself for not being there when his brother disappeared. Jonathan Byers was miserable. But something changed. A petite blond he had watched for the last ten years came to him with her glossy smile and short skirts. She wanted to help him. She wanted to save him from himself, even if she never said it. And weirdly enough, Jonathan wanted to save her, too. He wanted to sweep her from the facade she had been pushed to believe. He wanted to burst her bubble and show her the world is not shades of saturated pinks and yellows. No, the world was much duller than that, you just had to find someone to make it brighter.

my characters are going to make mistakes. you might not agree with some things they end up doing, however, considering they're 16, it's only reasonable they make bad choices! they are teenage girls who fall in love and get their hearts broken. they're going to do things that will annoy you, make you mad, or confuse you. they're still learning and growing as most teens and young adults are.

as this is a fanfiction, characters like chrissy cunningham, eddie munson, and jason carver will be making appearances in earlier seasons and characters like tommy hagan, carol perkins, tina, & others will be making appearances in later seasons. so when you see chrissy mentioned in chapter three, you know why.
