|•Chapter 11•|
"Hi! It's good to see you." Jake yelled out as Norm jumped out of a helicopter. It was the next day and barely anyone got any sleep. Dispute Neytiri's protests Jake called Norm and Max right away as they raced to the village to help Kiri.
Metkayina crowd around as they started to approach the helicopter. "Neteyam Tsìlpey! Keep them back!" Jake yelled out to us.
We quickly turned as we started to push villagers back away. The dust that was being brought up by the helicopter soon settled as they turned off the helicopter. Jake, Norm, and Max grabbed bags as Jake rushed towards our home.
We started to walk away as Metkayina soon came forward trying to touch the helicopter. We quickly made our way to the Mauri.
Machine beeped as we all sat around waiting for Kiri to wake up or for something to happen. Tuk was holding one of Kiri's hands. Max, Norm and Jake were crowded around each other as they looked at the tablet Max was holding. "There's no bleed. There's no fracture. No effects of hypoxia. The brain looks good." Max said turning to Jake as he had a confused look on his face
"But we still have this interictal activity.." Max's voice trailed off as Tuk spoke up.
"Is she going to be okay?" Tuk asked quietly, still holding Kiri's hand by her face.
Tsìlpey crawled to be by her as she picked up Tuk and sat her in her lap. "Kiri is a strong girl, she will make through this, I promise you Tuk. It's gonna take time though for Kiri to be back to normal." Tsìlpey explained.
"Will she still be able to play with me?" Tuk asked looking up at Tsìlpey.
"She will be able to Tuk, probably double the amount of times she does with you now!" Tsìlpey says trying to cheer Tuk up. Tsìlpey whipped her head around when she heard Neytiri's voice.
"You are Tsahik!" Standing in the doorway was Ronal with a disappointed scowl on her face as Tsireya was right behind her holding a basket, looking around curiously.
"Remove these things." Ronal said.
"Out!" Neytiri yelled. "You have done nothing!"
"Come on, come on. Let's just take a break." Jake said quickly, Jake didn't want to make Neytiri more mad.
"Okay, hold on." Max said.
"I gotta take her IV off." Max said quickly.
"Come on kids." Jake said getting up and ushering us out. "Let's give the Tsahik some space."
Tsìlpey got up trying to get Tuk to follow her. "Come on Tuk, let's give the Tsahik some space."
"I want to stay with her." Tuk said gripping Kiri's hand tighter.
"Tuk-" Tsìlpey started before Ronal stopped her.
"She is alright. She will be of good use while I heal." Ronal said.
Tsìlpey hesitated slightly before sighing and getting up and walking outside where Lo'ak and Neteyam were at and took a seat next to them. It was quiet before Tsìlpey broke the silence. "Where were you Lo'ak?"
"What?" Lo'ak said as he turned his head to Tsìlpey.
"Where were you when all this happend? You didn't come with us to the Spirit tree." Tsìlpey said. Neteyam now turned his head to his younger brother.
Lo'ak looked behind him to see if Jake or Neytiri was there or if anyone was listening before turning back to us. "I went to Visit Payakan." He whispered at us.
"Lo'ak, he's a killer!" Neteyam hissed at him.
"He isn't a killer!" Lo'ak said back at him. "He rescued Tsìlpey and I before we got killed!"
"Just because he didn't hurt you that time doesn't mean he won't do it this time!" Neteyam said. "You have to use your brain. Aren't you going to back me up Tsìlpey?"
Lo'ak looked at Tsìlpey waiting for her to speak up. "I think you should be careful Lo'ak." Tsìlpey said quietly.
"Not you too Tsìlpey!" Lo'ak said getting up. "He isn't a killer why can't you understand that?"
"Lo'ak Tsireya and the others have been here their whole lives while we have been here for a few months. They know the animals and the reefs better than us, they know the stories better." Tsìlpey said. "We should listen to them."
Lo'ak scoffs. "You act like your my sister."
"She's my girlfriend Lo'ak. She hangs out with us all the time." Neteyam said in defense.
"She should go away." Lo'ak said starting to walk away. "Besides she's not even our own blood." Neteyam yelled something back at him. Lo'ak kept walking away.
