Yasmina walked to the edge of camp and pulled a pack of cigarettes and a lighter out of her pocket. As she lit one and took a drag, she started to think about Sammy. Sammy is beautiful in her way. She was kind, smart, and funny. She took another drag and began to think about if she told her how she felt would Sammy accept her for who she is or be like the last person she confessed her feelings to who ran from her and hurt her more than the knife she once used to drag across her skin. "When I fell in love with Sammy, the fear of rejection hit the hardest, not the realization that I loved her." She said into the sky. No one was there to see the fear and the tears running down her face as she clung to her jacket like a lifeline as she crumbled to the ground in tears. As she walked back into camp, she saw Sammy and Brooklynn kissing as the two girls separated. Sammy whispered, "I love you, Brooklynn" Brooklynn replied, "I love you too, Sammy." Yaz realizes that Sammy was in love with someone else. Someone who could love better than she ever could. Yasmina chuckled dryly and whispered, "Even if she's happy with Brooklynn, I will feel like a part of me will constantly be missing without her. But I will never ruin something like this friendship we built. I will always love you. But from a distance."
