Chapter Three

Y/n's pov

There was a wave of panic washing over the crowd. The one with a faded yellow hoodie and frowny face ski mask stepped forward. "There will be tests of endurance, isolation, food and sleep deprivation and mental and physical abuse." He said as he seemed to look down at the group.

"There will not be exceptions," he said putting his hands in his jean pockets.

"We," he motioned to the people around him "are in charge here." He stepped back and stood back in the line.

The crowd stood in a shocked silence as a man in a white hoodie stepped up with his hood down. He pulled it down revealing paper white skin and a unnaturally large smile making someone gasp. "Hello everyone~ I'm Jeff. I'm seventeen." He said before stepping back.

"I'm Eyeless Jack, call me E.J. I'm twenty-one." Said a man with a blue mask and black hoodie as he waved lazily.

"I'm Clockwork. Sixteen" A brown haired girl said uninterested.

"My names Liu. I'm eighteen." A boy with green eyes and a partly stitched face spoke.

"I'm BEN drowned, just call me BEN. I'm actually fifteen." A small link look alike said not looking up from his handheld game.

"Hia'! I'm Laughing Jack!" A black and white clown laughed waving excitedly.

Call me B.P, for Bloody Painter. I'm seventeen." He said picking at his nails.

"Jane. Fifteen" A pale girl with black eyes said coldly.

"Hello! I'm Sally!" A small girl in a pink dress with blood seeping down her head waved. "I'm eight!"

"Names' Puppeteer. I'm twenty." A man with gray skin and glowing gold eyes said looking around.

"Hello tributes, I'm Hoodie." Much to his name, said a boy in a yellow hoodie with a red frowny face ski mask said.

"Masky... Me and Hoods' are nineteen." A man in a white porcelain looking mask said annoyed.

"Call me Kate, nothing else." Said a girl in a black and white hoodie matching her mask. "I'm fifteen."

"To y-you all I'm Sir, ad-address me as s-such. I rank highest o-out of the pr-proxy." He said proudly adjusting his orange goggles.

You looked around the at the people you were now competing against. "That brings us to the rules," Masky spoke walking to the front. "There's three and they're fairly simple. One, you won't be under a twenty four hour watch, decide to try and escape you are automatically eliminated. Every group has one so I'd suggest that not be you. We will and have always found them." He said looking over the crowd.

He seemed happy with the result and started again. "Two, any sabotage of other players with result in elimination, I would recommend teaming up with anyone you deem useful." He said eyeing some of the more muscular participants.

"What the hell is wrong with you freaks? I'm not doing this." A girl who stood next to you spoke in a disgusted tone.

Your face paled as Hoodie walked up next to Masky. "Care to say that again Sunshine?" He said coldly.

"You're all sick fuc-" she began before Hoodie pulled out a revolver from his belt and shot her once in the leg making everyone gasp and jump in surprise.

Masky spoke again his tone seeming satisfied. "Three, respect your higher ups, and we have ourselves a perfect example! We won't hesitate to snap your necks."

You kneeled down quickly trying to calm her screaming. "Uh, uh," You looked around frantically "Does anyone here know first aid?" You asked looking at the blood seeping from her wound.

Ticci Toby's pov

I paid no mind to what Masky was saying before a gunshot went off making me direct my gaze towards a girl in the front row who crumpled to the floor her knee bleeding while screaming in pain. "Three, respect your higher ups, and we have ourselves a perfect example! We won't hesitate to snap your neck." Masky said matter-of-factly. Geez she must have really pissed him off.

I smiled under my mouth guard at the brat; she deserved it. I paused when someone kneeled down panicked and leaned over their body trying to calm them. My body jerked as an image flashed in my mind. It was blurry and distorted but it held a blonde girl with her hair pulled back neatly into a ponytail leaning over someone who lay on the floor her head bleeding from what appeared to be a beer bottle with a man standing over them shouting. The woman on the ground waved off the girl "I'm fine Lyra; just go." It ended leaving me back in the present. "Lyra?" I whispered to myself not pinpointing where I heard it before. I quickly looked back over at the person helping the girl. I felt raging jealousy bubble up in my heart unlike anything any other time in my life. I needed them, not this bitch.

I jumped off the stage my hatchet gripped tightly in my hand as I swung it into the brat's head.
