Umi's POV

I couldn't believe it.

I accidentally pushed (Y/N) away and he fell down from the rooftop.

Umi: No... This can't be...

I looked at (Y/N) in horror while cupping my mouth.

Honoka: You...! You murdered (Y/N)!

She was furious of what have I done.

Umi: I didn't mean to!

Honoka: Then, why did you push him?!

Kotori: You two! This isn't the time to argue! I'll call the ambulance!

She said as pulls out her phone and calls them. Without thinking any longer, I ran down the rooftop to head toward where (Y/N) fell down.

Honoka: Hey! Where are you going?!

She pursuit me all the way until we saw (Y/N). I managed to get to him who's still conscious, but he looks so pale from the blood loss.

Honoka: Out of my way!

Honoka carries (Y/N) between her arms.

Honoka: Hang in there, (Y/N)! Kotori-chan has called the ambulance!

Umi: (Y/N)! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to push you off the edge!

(Y/N): It's... o... kay... I'm... not... mad...

He said as he slowly loses consciousness and we both paid attention to what he's about to say.

(Y/N): I... lo... ve... both... of... you...

That's his final words before he passed out.

Umi: No...

Honoka: (Y/N)-kun...

I can't believe that even after all of that, he still accept us.

Honoka cries and sob loudly as she caress (Y/N) softly.

Umi: Hang in there, (Y/N)! Don't die yet!

I also cried as tears flows down my cheek to (Y/N).

After a while, the ambulance arrived and carried (Y/N) as they drove off the school to send him to the hospital. As we watched the vehicle slowly disappears from our sight, Honoka spoke up.

Honoka: That's a lie. He only loves me and that's it. He didn't actually mean that.

Umi: Honoka...

Honoka: It has to be false. There's no way he would ever love you as well.

Umi: What (Y/N) said is the truth.

Honoka: Shut up.

She said coldly and glared at me angrily.

Honoka: Someone like you don't deserve him at all.

Umi: Honoka, I'm-

Honoka: YOU PUSHED (Y/N) OFF THE ROOFTOP!!!

She yelled right at the front of my face with tears flowing down her eyes.

Honoka: You murdered (Y/N)! It's all your fault!

She grabbed me by my collar and I couldn't fight back because I deserved it.

Honoka: You actually do mean to end him because you didn't get what you truly want.

Umi: That's not-

Honoka: Do you think I would accept you as (Y/N)'s second girlfriend like that?!

She asked the question and I can't answer it. It's true, I'm the one who got (Y/N) injured and now, he's not waking up.

Honoka: Hey, I'm asking you a question!

Umi: I don't know!

I answered her question, not knowing if (Y/N) actually means it that he loves both of us or only to prevent any more conflict between us.

Honoka: I knew it. Someone like you... shouldn't deserve him at all!

As she was about to raise her hand and hit me...

Kotori: Both of you, stop!

Kotori grabbed Honoka's hand and pulled it away.

Kotori: Is it really necessary for both of you to fight on who gets to be (Y/N)-san's girlfriend?!

Honoka: Kotori-chan...

She slowly let go of me while also keeping her expression and glances to Kotori.

Kotori: You're putting too much pressure on him!

She continues scolding us and ask Honoka.

Kotori: You two, please answer honestly.

She looks at Honoka first.

Kotori: Do you think that by hitting Umi-chan, you'll solve problem?!

Honoka didn't answer, but she shake her head slowly.

Kotori: Then, why would you do it anyway?

Honoka: Because I was so furious that she hurts my boyfriend.

She answers slowly as Kotori avert her eyes to me.

Kotori: Umi-chan, is it true that you accidentally pushed (Y/N)-san?

Umi: Y-Yes.

Kotori: You have no intention to take his life, right?

Umi: I would never do such things! I love (Y/N) and he even said it that he loves both of us before he passed out!

What I said is the truth. I don't want to take away someone's innocent life especially u's and (Y/N).

Kotori: Can you girls please get along with each other once again?

Honoka: You want me to be nice to this girl?

The moment she said "this girl" like I'm her enemy offends me.

Umi: Don't you use that word to me!

I lose my temper and grabbed her hair harshly.

Kotori: Stop it!!

Both of us pulled each other's hair and then Kotori tries to separate us only for Honoka to harshly push her as she fell to the floor hard.

Kotori: It hurts...!

Umi: Kotori! You...!

Before she could react, I raised my hand and...

*SLAP!*

I slapped Honoka at her left cheek, causing a loud thud noise.

Umi: Are you so blinded by love that you don't care about us anymore?!

I teared up again as I asked Honoka.

Umi: Is this the Honoka that we used to know?!

She rubbed the part where I slapped her and cried again.

Umi: Please stop this!

There's no response coming from her for a moment before she simply says...

Honoka: Kotori-chan... let's go home together.

She walks away from us slowly and didn't even look back.

Kotori: Honoka-chan...

She looks at me one last time before leaving to catch up with Honoka. I'd only watch them leave the school until I can no longer see them.

Umi: (Y/N)... get well soon. Please don't die.

I prayed for his safety before leaving the school.

A few days later...

For the past few days, me and Honoka didn't talk to each other. The others is also worried of us, but Kotori explained things to them and promise to keep it secret only between us.

Things aren't quite the same without (Y/N). I tried to talk to Honoka and be nice to her again, but she only gave me a cold shoulder.

Me and Kotori visit the hospital every day after school to accompany (Y/N) just to make sure he's not quite lonely.
He's covered in bandages around his body and head. Luckily, his heart's still beating and his injury is getting better. However, it's not a sign that he'll wake up anytime soon.

Kotori: (Y/N)-san's still not awake?

Umi: Not yet.

My hope is slowly fading, but I'm yet to give up.

Kotori: Our next live is coming soon, and Honoka-chan's still saddened of what happened.

Umi: Maybe we should cancel our live.

Kotori: No! We can't do that!

Umi: Then, do you have any other option?

I asked and she shook her head, not knowing what to do either.

Umi: Unfortunately, I don't either.

Kotori: Umi-chan...

I sighed before looking back at the unconscious (Y/N).

Umi: As long as (Y/N)'s still unconscious, we can't be assured that things will be fine.

I kept myself silent for a moment and stand up from the seat.

Umi: Let's go.

I said before leaving the room where (Y/N)'s at as Kotori followed me from behind. After gazing at him one last time, I left the hospital straight to my home.

Later that midnight...

(Y/N)'s POV

Hospital

I woke up and I found myself in a room. There's the heartbeat monitor and I found myself covered in bandages on my arms and head.

Doctor: You're awake. That's a relief.

I heard the doctor coming in to the ward and I let out a light grunt after trying to move as I can feel the pain taking over.

Doctor: Don't move too much.

He helped me to slowly sit down on the bed.

(Y/N): Wh-What happened?

I asked him while breathing slowly to slow down the pain.

Doctor: Your head was badly injured from falling down from school's rooftop. Luckily, your friend swiftly call the ambulance and we managed to recover your injury.

Then, the memories of that evening plays back in my head like a photograph. Umi accidentally pushed me off the rooftop and as a result, I landed head first to the concrete floor.

(Y/N): Oh, yeah. That night...

Doctor: Care to tell me what happened?

I told him about the incident and he understood fully.

Doctor: I see. They're blinded by love to see who's worth to be your girlfriend.

Then, the flashback of Honoka and Umi bickering in the library flashes in my head.

Doctor: I got to say... this competition is literally stupid. They could've gotten someone killed by their action.

He gave me a stern look before continuing.

Doctor: I'm no expert in idol career, but from what I know, aren't they forbidden to be in a relationship with someone?

(Y/N): ... They do.

I answered and he looked at me confused.

Doctor: Excuse me?

(Y/N): It's true that idols aren't allowed to be in a relationship, whether it be a secret or public. But for me, it's absolutely fine as long as they're not distracted by it.

I said it, not knowing that if I do mean it truly.

Doctor: You're so weird, you know?

(Y/N): Well, maybe I am. That's just my point of view.

He stared at me confused for a moment before sighing and changing the topic.

Doctor: It'll take a while for you to be fully recovered, so don't push yourself.

(Y/N): For how long?

Doctor: By looking at your injuries, I'd say a few weeks.

(Y/N): I see...

I looked away from the doctor to my arms on the blanket.

Doctor: So, how's it doing with you?

(Y/N): It hurts whenever I'm trying to move.

I said as I tried to move my body.

Doctor: Then, I suggest that you take enough rest for the injury to heal.

He wrote something on his writing board and told me to eat and drink.

Doctor: You must be hungry, right? Go ahead and fill your stomach.

He then leave me alone in the room as I began eating the hospital food which is tasteless. While at it, I stare outside of the window to see the night and it's beautiful with the stars illuminating the sky.

(Y/N): I need to know what happens between the girls.

I said in my heart while digging in to the food that's provided before going back to sleep.

The next day...

Kotori's POV

Love Live is coming soon, and things are still not looking bright for u's. As much as we want to compete, Honoka and Umi's still not in good mood.

It's break time and we're having our lunch together. I couldn't enjoy my food much unlike before and was contemplating about (Y/N)-san's condition instead.

???: Kotori...

Someone calls out my name and it's Nico-chan with her stern look.

Kotori: Y-Yes, Nico-chan?

Maki: Still thinking about (Y/N)?

Kotori: Yeah...

I felt lethargic and as long as things would be this way, nothing will change.

Eli: What about Honoka?

Hanayo: Will she ever come practice with us?

Kotori: Umm...

Umi: She won't come.

Umi answered with a hint of anger in her voice on my behalf.

Eli: Umi...

Umi: Honoka doesn't want to perform as long as (Y/N)'s not waking up.

Nico: What?! But, she has to! She's literally our leader!

Kotori: I'll try to talk to her later.

Nozomi: If that doesn't work, then...

Nozomi raises her hands as she moves her fingers and smirked.

Nozomi: I'll teach her some lesson~

Rin: B-Best for Honoka to come back, nya!~

Hanayo: I agree...

Everyone else was slightly frightened except for Eli as we continued our rehearsal after our short break.

After our dance practice, I invited Umi-chan to go visit (Y/N) again today. But, she said...

Umi: I don't want to come today.

She paused her steps and looked down to the floor.

Umi: It'll be the same thing again. He won't be awake.

Kotori: Umi-chan...

Umi: You just go ahead. I got things to do at home. See you.

I knew I couldn't force her, so I just kept myself quiet and watch her leave.

I went ahead to the hospital without Umi-chan and head straight to (Y/N)-san's ward.

I got there and... he's not in his bed. I was slightly panicking. Then, I saw someone entering the room and...

(Y/N)'s POV

I just got back from using the toilet and I met someone I didn't expect to see at all.

It's Kotori.

(Y/N): Umm... maybe you should knock before you enter?

I tried to make a joke, but it failed as she rush toward and hugged me tight. Fortunately, I can still breathe.

Kotori: Thank goodness you're awake.

(Y/N): Y-Yeah, I am right now.

Kotori: I missed you so much.

After a moment of that warm hug which I admit I enjoyed it, she let me go and begin asking questions.

Kotori: How long have you been awake?

(Y/N): Ever since yesterday.

Kotori: Sorry, I didn't bring any souvenirs.

(Y/N): It's okay. I don't want to burden you anyway.

A brief moment of silence fills the air as I felt awkward. However, I can tell that Kotori is more anxious than I do. So, I asked her about their progress.

(Y/N): So, what's up with you girls right now? Still arguing about me?

Kotori: Well...

She explains everything during the time he passed out.

(Y/N): I see... Both of them are hating on each other right now.

Kotori: Umi-chan said she won't come to visit you today because she gave up.

I was surprised with a hint of happiness that the girls would still come and visit me at the hospital.

(Y/N): This can't keep going on for a long time. Love Live is coming, so I don't like any bickerings between you girls.

I decided to think of a plan and knowing that their bond is still strong despite being in an argument, I finally figured out how to reunite them again.

(Y/N): Kotori, can you do something for me?

Kotori: Huh? What is it?

(Y/N): I think I know how to unite Umi and Honoka once again.

I explained her my plans and she understood the whole thing. What is the plan, you may ask? You're about to find out soon.

After the explanation, she gets herself ready and we carry on with it.

(Y/N): Are you ready?

Kotori: Yes.

She took out her phone and start recording me as I begin my speech.

(Y/N): Hey, Honoka and Umi. How are you right now? As you can see, I'm finally awake after the injury if you're watching this video. I just woke up yesterday and I'm still recovering. Anyway, I have something to confess to you girls.

I take a short deep breath before continuing.

(Y/N): Remember what I said before I get knocked out? About me loving both of you girls? It's the truth. I don't want you to fight over useless things like who deserves me more. I don't even know if I could bring you happiness. Besides, I'm just being a huge fan of school idols, especially u's.

Then, I told them my request to end the video.

(Y/N): Come and meet me at the hospital while I'm recovering for few weeks. I'll be waiting here and your answers. That's all.

Once I finished my message, I asked Kotori.

(Y/N): Did you record everything I said?

Kotori: Y-Yes!

(Y/N): Good. The rest is up to you now, Kotori.

Kotori: Leave this to me!

Then, the nurse enters the room and said...

Nurse: Excuse me, but the time for visiting is over.

Kotori: I have to go now. See you, (Y/N)-san.

(Y/N): Take care.

She bows down her head to me and left the ward as I laid down on my bed to continue resting.

Kotori's POV

Honoka's House

I arrived at Honoka's house and called for her.

Kotori: Honoka-chan! Are you there?

No response from her.

Kotori: I need to talk to you!

Yukiho: Oh, it's Big Sis Kotori.

Honoka's little sister appears from the front door.

Kotori: Yukiho-chan, where's your sister?

Yukiho: She's still in her bedroom, locked in. You know, she's been like this for a few days. The only time when she leave the room is to either use the toilet or to eat. That's it.

Kotori: I-I see...

Yukiho: Come on in. Maybe you could do something about it.

Kotori: Pardon my interruption.

I entered her house and head upstairs to her room's door. I knocked it a few times.

Kotori: Honoka-chan! It's me, Kotori! Open the door!

Honoka: What do you want?

She said coldly.

Kotori: Please just listen to me!

Honoka: I want to be alone right now. Go away.

It seems that she's so depressed that she couldn't get to see (Y/N). So, I decided to do the thing he asked me to. I pulled out my phone and played the video I recorded.

(Y/N): Hey, Honoka and Umi. How are you right now? As you can see, I'm finally awake after the injury if you're watching this video. I just woke up yesterday and I'm still recovering. Anyway, I have something to confess to you girls.

Honoka: I-Is that... (Y/N)?

The video keeps playing as she opens the door slowly.

Her eyes widened the moment she saw (Y/N) talking.

She grabs my phone and was glued to it.

(Y/N): Come and meet me at the hospital while I'm recovering for few weeks. I'll be waiting here and your answers. That's all.

The video stops there and Honoka was relieved to hear his voice again.

Honoka: (Y/N)-kun... You're alive...

She cried and I hugged her to comfort her.

Kotori: There, there...

I patted her head and she's back to her usual self quickly.

Honoka: He said he wants to see me at the hospital, right?

Kotori: Yes.

Honoka: Okay, I need to calm down. Thank goodness my boyfriend's alive!

Kotori: You remember what he said, right? That he wants you and Umi-chan to-

The moment I mentioned Umi-chan, her expression changed. But, she got anxious instead of her usual angry yandere self.

Kotori: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have mentioned that-

Honoka: I'll think about it.

Her response made my chest slightly lighter.

Honoka: You'll go meet her next, right?

Kotori: That's what I'm about to do.

Honoka: Then, go. I need some time for myself to calm down.

I stood up and was about to leave, but I paused my steps and told her...

Kotori: Honoka-chan, please come back. u's still needs you and Umi-chan.

I left a message to Honoka and head over to Umi-chan's house and I can see her from her room's window.

Honoka: Umi-chan!

I called for her name and she opens the window.

Umi: What is it?

Kotori: Can I have a talk with you for a moment?

Umi: Come on in, then.

I entered her house and go up to her room.

Umi: What is it that you want to talk about?

Kotori: (Y/N)-san is fully awake now.

I get straight to the point and she was very shocked.

Umi: Really?

Her expression brightens up when I brought up (Y/N)-san.

Umi: Are you telling the truth? What did you guys talked about?

Kotori: Yes, let me tell you.

I told Umi-chan about my meetup with (Y/N).

Umi: So, that's what happened.

Kotori: Oh, and also...

I pulled my phone out and shows her the video I recorded.

Kotori: I want to show you this.

I played the video and her eyes widened in disbelief to see (Y/N)-san again.

Umi: (Y/N)... You...

As the video keeps playing, she was relieved to see him awake.

Umi: Thank goodness he's... He's...

She couldn't continue her words as she fell down to her knees and tears flows down her eyes as I hugged her for a while. Once her sadness subsided, I asked...

Kotori: Will you go back to school tomorrow? We can come visit him later after that.

She took a few moment to decide before answering.

Umi: As long as I get to see him afterwards, then yes. But... I know Honoka will be there too because of his request.

Kotori: Take your time, Umi-chan.

Umi: Thank you, Kotori. If it wasn't for you who helped us out, then...

She was about to think that what if (Y/N) are awake, but none of us are there to visit him. So, I tried to get rid of those thoughts and keep the positive vibe stay.

Kotori: You're welcome. I'm just helping out my childhood friends to get together again.

I said as I packed my things up and about to leave.

Kotori: I have to go now. See you.

Umi: Take care.

I head back to my house for the night. Hopefully, things goes well in the next few days.

The next day...

(Y/N)'s POV

Hospital

I'm at the hospital room while watching the time goes by slowly during school hours. Not going to lie, I'm kind of bored. I wonder how many homeworks will I have to complete when I came back to school.

After a few hours, Kotori finally came.

Kotori: (Y/N)-san, I'm here.

(Y/N): Oh, finally. I've been waiting for you. So, how did it go?

Kotori: See for yourself.

She said as she gazed at the door and... Honoka shows up.

Honoka: (Y/N)-kun...

I got to say, she looks a bit messy. Probably because of spending her time locked in her room and skipping school.

I was about to greet Honoka, but she ran toward and hugged me tight as I returned the favor.

(Y/N): I should have expected this.

Honoka: Don't do that ever again! I couldn't bear to lose you!

Kotori: Honoka-chan finally decided to come back to school and resume her idol training.

She explained the results after she showed the video.

Kotori: For Umi-chan... she said she'll come a bit late.

I can see Honoka's face becomes gloomy when she's about to meet the one who she hated on.

(Y/N): Let's just wait for the one I anticipated for to come.

A few minutes later, footsteps can be heard from outside as a familiar figure walks in to the ward.

It's Umi.

(Y/N): You're here.

Umi: (Y/N)...

She says my name quietly and approaches me with her hands on her chest.

Umi: I'm sorry... for pushing you off the rooftop...

I decided to not answer her apology first and get to the main point of our meeting.

(Y/N): You know the main reason why we gathered here. So, I want you to be nice to each other again like before.

Honoka: There's no way I could ever accept Umi-chan after what happened! Because of her, you... You...

She couldn't finish her words and looked down.

(Y/N): I said what I said, and I mean it.

I said and lift her chin up.

(Y/N): It's not just to stop the conflict between you girls, but to also prove that my love toward you wouldn't change.

Umi: What (Y/N) said is right. Why are we fighting over something trivial like this?

Honoka: Umi-chan...

Umi: If only we could agree with each other that we can share (Y/N), this wouldn't have happened.

Honoka: I agree. It's kind of my fault too for almost breaking our friendship.

Umi: I forgive you.

They embraced each other into a hug and it's wholesome to see it.

Honoka: Now then, (Y/N)-kun...

She came close to me.

Honoka: What prove that you love us?

(Y/N): This.

I kissed Honoka at the lips and she was utterly stunned by my action. So, she sunk into the kiss and wrapped her arms around my waist for a few moments.

(Y/N): And to Umi...

Umi: What is it- mmph?!

Then, I kissed Umi right after and she also shows the same reaction. We stayed in the position as Umi closed her eyes for a moment.

(Y/N): You see that I'm not lying before I passed out, right?

Honoka: You're... not... lying...

Umi: You truly stick with your words...

(Y/N): Why would I ever lie?

We all smiled to each other and I thought that things can finally be at ease until...

Kotori: No fair!

Suddenly, Kotori yelled at and she felt jealous of watching us.

Kotori: Are you going to just leave me out after all of what I've done to keep you guys together again?

I couldn't say a word because of how true she is.

Kotori: I also cared about you as much as my childhood friends.

Honoka: Kotori-chan...

Umi: Don't tell us...

Kotori: (Y/N)-san, I know that you didn't do anything nice to me yet. But, the moment I saw you trying to solve the conflict between Honoka-chan and Umi-chan, I was moved by you.

She walked closer to me and our face is a few inches away from touching.

Kotori: What I meant to say is...

She took a few moment to say the word.

Kotori: I love you (Y/N)-san, and I want to join the harem as well!

(Y/N): Then, let me ask both of Honoka and Umi...

I asked both of the girls their permission to let Kotori to be my next girlfriend.

(Y/N): Will you accept Kotori Minami as part of the harem?

Honoka: There's no other choice, huh?

Umi: Looks like we have to accept.

Kotori: Then...

Kotori suddenly take this chance by kisisng me on the lips. I only let her do what she wants because I should at least reward her with something. After that, she whispered at my ear.

Kotori: If we saw you talking to other girls that we don't know, you'll face the consequences. Understand?~

(Y/N): Alright then, Minalinsky.

Kotori: Don't call me that! It's embarassing!

She pushed me and the pain surges in my head.

(Y/N): Ouch! That hurts!

Honoka: Kotori-chan! You're being too rough!

Kotori: It's his fault for mentioning my maid name!

Me and Umi only watched both of them arguing as she giggled from it and caress my face.

(Y/N): Thank goodness things has gone back to normal.

After the apology and love confession session between me and the second year of u's, they tries to feed me and I only obeyed them.

With that, I have 3 idol girlfriends as my harem.
