(Y/N) had brewed up some hot water using the kettle, retrieving some powder from the nearby cupboard. Once it was done, he walked over and sat down in the dinner table with Melanie. Who was eagerly waiting for her cup of coco.

"Ah, thank you, babe." She smirked as he gave her the cup in his left hand.

"So.." (Y/N) took a short sip from my cup. "I payed with hot chocolate, I think I'm owed some explanations."

"You're so assertive." Melanie giggled. "I like that. You know exactly what you want, and I have what it is you need."

She drank a few more sips of the hot chocolate, before laying down the cup and clearing her throat.

"So, this is something I didn't expect to tell you this fast. I honestly thought I was going to have to tell you this later in life, long after our... beautiful marriage... Anyways, I never told you where I was born, all I said back in the cafeteria was that I moved around a lot when I was young which was partially true. I was born here, in Little Valley just like you. My dad was a prominent restaurant owner, well established among the town. I even attended primary school here, I met friends learned whatever's drilled into a kindergartener's brain at the time, and it was when I met... you."

She lovingly gazed into his eyes.

"But, how come I didn't recognize you?" He asked, questioning both her and himself.

"People's appearances change if you remember correctly, I had dirty blonde hair when I was younger. But most importantly. I stopped using my birth name, Millicent. In favor of Melanie, which was a nickname people at middle school named me." She shrugged. It was at that moment that (Y/N) finally began to recognize her. She had, in fact gone to primary school with him.

"I-I remember you now!" He said. "I never really knew your name though, I guess I was just way too shy to ask anyone about themselves."

"Well, look who's mind is working now." She joked.

"Ha ha, very funny." (Y/N) sarcastically replied. "So, what happened with you. If I remember correctly. You just... left all of a sudden."

She nodded, further continuing the story.

"So, somewhere down the line, I heard about your mother's death during your birth. I felt extremely sorry for you, (Y/N). You were always the boy that stuck to yourself, you liked to read under that tree in the middle of the schoolyard, I always wanted to know more about you. But, like you I was also too shy to speak about my true desire. However, when my Dad died, I knew... I knew how you felt when your mother passed. As heartbreaking it was, it brought me closer to understanding you. Because I hurt, I knew how you felt. I finally had what I needed to approach and talk with you... Until my mother. The bitch that she was... sold my Dad's business and his building off to some other guy whose name I don't even remember. Later after that, we moved away... Far from you. That really pissed me off, but what rubbed it in was the fact that my mom apparently had little to no sympathy for dad. She married again almost immediately after we'd moved, it was as if she never even remembered him. Everything just... went on as if he never even existed, I couldn't believe it. I was distraught and furious at her... Yet, it taught me a valuable lesson. One should cherish their significant other as if tomorrow was the last day... I learned to love you more, and ultimately I'm thankful for it."

She let her heart out, a few tears formed in her eyes as she recollected. (Y/N) saw this and grabbed a tissue from a nearby box, handing it to her. Taking the napkin, she wiped her eyes, balled it up and threw it into a nearby trashcan.

"I'm glad you remembered me... even if I didn't do the same for you." (Y/N) was sort of embarrassed as he told the last half of that sentence. But to him, honesty is a virtue as well as necessary for a perfect relationship.

"That's alright, I understand." Melanie assured him.

"But that doesn't explain how you were able to move back here. Did you convince your mother?..." (Y/N) curiously prodded.

"Who said my mother even knows I'm here?" She giggled. "I had to get back to you somehow, you were always on my mind. I couldn't get you out. But, of course I never wanted you out of it. So I had to come back sometime, who knew what kinds of girls you were getting into while I was gone? So I had to hatch a plan... When the time finally came and mom had almost fully settled down into her new life, I poisoned her Sugar Daddy, taking some money that she owed me for wasting my years away from you, finally I caught a plane ride here. I even rented a hotel, I've been using it for weeks now." She laughed a bit at the part about the hotel.

"That is..."

(Y/N) paused, trying to find a word to use.

"... absolutely stellar dedication on your part. And I mean that with all my soul. However, there's something I wanna ask." He suggested, his hot chocolate lay there on the table cooling off as he rested his chin on his palm.

"Sure, ask away. Darling." Melanie grabbed her cup and sipped it some more.

"That day we met... officially... You planned that aswell?" He asked.

"Looks like you're catching onto the whole thing. The day before we 'met'. I enrolled into your school with a false name, as well as making sure to find you. I watched you from afar, walking all the way home, also taking note of your route. I also found you much more attractive than I remember. After that, based on your route home from school. I chose the perfect place to catch your eye, which worked like an absolute charm! The rest is all history."

"That house I took you to?" (Y/N) asked once more. Still bewildered and curious at his crush's sudden reveal.

"It was being renovated. The workers there, though... they asked too many questions." She brushed most of it off. "However, it was all worth it in the end... Do I see a little smile forming on your face?"

(Y/N) was rendered almost speechless, this girl his eye and heart was on for the last few weeks, had hers on him for the last few years... Feeling both a sense of joyful appreciation along with the slightest tingle of fear for himself. Yet it was all eclipsed by his wonder and still growing passion for her.

"Yeah... it's... It's like we're made for each other..." He was able to word out, otherwise his amazement at her sheer resolve and planning couldn't be formulated into speech.

"Speaking of which. I've always been wondering about whatever happened to Wonder-Boy and Powder-Sniffer back there..." She got up from her chair, approaching (Y/N) slowly. "Is my (Y/N) somehow responsible for their unfortunate... happenings?"

Smirking with glee, (Y/N) was more than happy to respond to her question.

"They're both six feet under, far away from you. Honey..." (Y/N) smirked, leaving his seat as well..

"Perfect." She smiled back. "Looks like you've developed your own little protective side for me."

"I'm just doing what has to be done for you. I gotta heave my end of this thing." (Y/N) spoke, proud of himself for his extinguishing of the interlopers.

"Thank God for that." She gently grabbed him by the collar. Pulling him in for a kiss. (Y/N)'s eyes closed as his lips bonded against Melanie's. "Hell, we should be crowned Prom Queen and King."

"That wasn't prom it was just a semi-formal." (Y/N) corrected.

"Aww, don't ruin the mood babe." She laughed a little.

"Well... speaking of which. I don't think we're gonna be able to stay around here for long." (Y/N) confessed.

"How so?" asked Melanie.

It was just then that we heard a police siren passing by, followed by another. Headed to the Town Hall.

"They took that long to respond?" Melanie questioned, dumbfounded.

"That's good for us, cause we have to get out of here." He urged. "Once they find those bodies, they'll be able to link them to us. We'll likely incarcerated for life if we're caught. We have to escape, Melanie. As of now our lives are on the line between freedom and complete separation."

"I guess we'll have to move fast, then." She said with a serious tone, which (Y/N) rarely heard. Yet it gave him a burst of pure motivation.
