Rinko's POV

A year ago...

As a student council member, I must be a good example for the school. I want to be the next student council's president next year, so I must do my best.

But, at the same time, a boy who was at middle school attracts me. He's quite shy and I feel quite bad for him not having any friends. His name is (Y/N), by the way. Here's how I met him for the first time.

It all started when I was a 2nd year high school student and didn't join the student council yet.

Monday, Morning

I was walking through the corridor heading to my classroom. Then, I crashed onto someone and fell down to the floor.

I gazed at the person, and I haven't seen him before. I assume that he's new here.

(Y/N): I-I'm sorry! Are you okay?

He asked with a worried look.

Rinko: Yeah... I'm fine.

He extend his hand and I grab it as he pulled me up.

Rinko: Thank you.

(Y/N): U-Umm...

Rinko: What's wrong?

The boy couldn't say anything as his body shaked a lot.

Rinko: Come on, I'll accompany you.

(Y/N): Eh? W-Wait!

I said as I grabbed her hand and he followed me from behind.

(Y/N): Where are we going?

Rinko: Don't worry. You'll be fine. Where's your class?

(Y/N): It's on Class 1-B.

I brought him all the way to the class he was in. I saw the class and bring him there.

Rinko: Here we are. Class 1-B.

He looked like he want to say something, but I don't know what is it. So, I told him.

Rinko: Don't be scared. Just say what do you want to say. I won't bite.

By the time he was about to say it, the bell rings as a sign that homeroom will begin immediately. 

Rinko: I have to go now. See you.

I excused myself from the class and head to my classroom. Luckily, I made it and I sat at my desk, thinking about the boy.

Rinko: That boy seems to be anxious, and somehow he interest me.

As I was thinking, the teacher enter the class and I decided to put the boy aside.

It's recess time and I was in my classroom having some nice lunch I brought from my home. I gazed at the corridor and I saw the same boy passing through my classroom. He glanced at me and paused his movement.

Rinko: It's him again...

He stared at me for a moment and then he head to the door as he entered my classroom slowly.

(Y/N): U-Umm... hey there.

Rinko: Hello.

I smiled at him and his face become slightly red.

(Y/N): I... I want to thank you for helping me!

The boy bowed down at me and he's being honest with it.

Rinko: You're welcome.

I smiled at him and he seems to be forgetting something. He then told me about it.

(Y/N): Oh yeah, I forgot to ask for your name.

Rinko: Rinko Shirokane. You?

(Y/N): (Y-Y/N)(L/N).

Rinko: Nice to meet you, (Y/N)-san.

Now that I know his name, I get to be closer to (Y/N).

(Y/N): Anyway, I got to go-

Rinko: Wait!

I grabbed his hand just before he could leave and I didn't know what am I doing.

Rinko: Can you... have lunch with me?

(Y/N): Eh? What?

Rinko: I really wanted to know you even more. Don't worry, I'll share some of my food with you.

I said and I'm being honest with (Y/N). I didn't hide any intention to him at all.

(Y/N): O-Okay then. Besides, I don't really have anyone to befriend with.

Rinko: Then, I'll be your first one, okay?

(Y/N): Alright.

He took an empty chair and sit at the front of me while facing me. I gave him my food as he ate them.

Rinko: I haven't seen you around here. Are you a new student?

(Y/N): Yes. I just got approved by the school to enroll here.

Rinko: I see.

(Y/N): Why do you want to know about me? I'm just an average guy who goes to school and do normal things, you know?

Rinko: You seems lonely, I must say.

(Y/N): Lonely? I didn't really have someone else at this school, so I guess you're a stalker and won't leave me alone until I talked to you.

Rinko: Y-Yeah...

I blushed as I glance away from him for a short moment.

(Y/N): Fine then. Go ahead and ask me questions, as long as if it's not something personal or confidential to only me.

Rinko: Don't mind if I do.

I asked him questions and he answered it with whatever he can. I get to slowly know him even more. I didn't realize that the recess is over when the bell rings.

(Y/N): I have to go now. See you later, Rinko-san.

He clean the table before returning to his class.

Rinko: Wait.

(Y/N) paused his movement once again and glance at me.

Rinko: Will you come and meet me again?

He didn't respond to my question for a moment. Then, he answered.

(Y/N): I'll think about it.

Rinko: If you do, then come and see me at the park after school.

(Y/N) only looked at me one last time before walking away back to his class. I believe that he'll come and see me, but for now I went to focus back to my class.

After School...

Hanasakigawa Co-Ed Academy, School Park

School is done for today, and everyone else went back to their house or go elsewhere. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for (Y/N) to come and see me here.

As I expected, he's coming toward me. I guess that (Y/N) trusted me and I'm quite happy about it.

Rinko: You finally came.

(Y/N): I do.

Rinko: Wanna walk home together?

(Y/N): Yeah, of course.

We went to walk out of the school together with the gentle wind blowing at us.

Rinko: Hey, can I ask you something?

(Y/N): What is it?

Rinko: Why did you enroll into Hanasakigawa?

He thought about it for a second until he answered.

(Y/N): To be honest, I just wanted to find a school nearby my house. I saw Hanasakigawa Co-Ed Academy and it's just around 20 minutes to go here by foot. So, that's why I chose to enroll to the school.

Rinko: I see.

(Y/N): Not going to lie, I didn't regret my decision at all. I met some nice person, especially you, Rinko-san.

Rinko: Fufu~ Looks like you and I share the same thing.

(Y/N): Wait, you do?

Rinko: Y-Yeah.

Another moment of silence as we passed through the neighborhood area. Then, I spoke up.

Rinko: Can we be friends?

He took a moment to think about it. After that, he answered shortly.

(Y/N): Of course, Rinko-san.

Rinko: I'm so glad to be the first one to befriend you.

I smiled at (Y/N) and he smiled back.

(Y/N): Same goes to me.

Ever since that day, me and (Y/N) become close friends as our bond deepen over time. I couldn't be happier when I'm with him.

A few months later...

It's been a while since me and (Y/N) become close friends. I spent so much time with him whether to help him with his study, or just to go spend time together at somewhere.

As time goes on, my feeling toward him is growing and eventually, I have a huge crush on him. I kept myself silent about this because I don't want to ruin our friendship.

But then, a question pops up in my head. What if (Y/N) had already someone else he has a crush on? I really don't like that. I want (Y/N) all by myself and no one else can have her.

After School...

Hanasakigawa Co-Ed Academy, Park

Tuesday, Afternoon

Today is the day, I'll confess my love to (Y/N). My heart beats rapidly for the moment and I can't let anyone get in my way.

There he is, standing under the tree waiting for someone. It's me, he would be definitely waiting for me, right?

As I went to approach (Y/N), I heard a female calling his name.

???: (Y/N)!

I know her. Fuuka Hoshino, the first year Hanasakigawa Co-Ed Academy at Class 1-B. From what I know about her, she's quite a bad person. Why is she calling (Y/N)? What is her plan with him? I decided to get closer to them and witness everything.

(Y/N): H-Hey, Fuuka. Why do you want me to meet you here?

Fuuka: Well... do you have a moment?

I hid myself from them as I heard carefully of their conversation.

(Y/N): Yeah, of course. What do you want?

Fuuka: I've been wanting to tell you for a long time now. You're one of my bestest friend ever. I'm so happy that I get to meet you and befriend you. But... at the same time, I have developed this certain feelings to you called "love".

(Y/N): Wait. So, does this mean you...?

She smiled at (Y/N) and confessed her love to him.

Fuuka: (Y/N), I love you! Please be my boyfriend!

(Y/N): Fuuka... I love you too!

His answer make me and Hoshino-san shocked. She squeals in happiness and my heart hurts as I grip my fist in anger and frustration. This scene is really infuriating to me.

Fuuka: Can I make a promise with you?

(Y/N): What is it?

She extend her pinky finger at (Y/N).

Fuuka: Promise that we'll keep our relationship as a secret. Promise that we'll also be together forever.

(Y/N): I promise.

He said as their pinky finger intertwined with each other. Unfortunately, they can't keep their relationship secret from me. And it hurts.

Rinko: No... it can't be...

I burst in tears as I ran away from the school.

I can't accept this.

I hope it's only a dream, but it's not.

It happened right at the front of my very eyes.

Hoshino-san has make her move, and (Y/N) is falling for her. I was a bit too late to do so. My heart shatters into millions of pieces. I only yearn for (Y/N), and he's already taken by someone else.

I went back home and lay down on my bed, hugging my pillows tightly as I cried.

Rinko: I wish that their relationship last short. I won't let Hoshino-san take (Y/N) away from me.

That's my wish from the day they become love couples.

A year later...

It's been almost a year after (Y/N) and Hoshino-san were in a relationship. I was able to keep myself up again and move on from my depression. But, my feelings to (Y/N) never fade even though he's taken by Hoshino-san. I'll never stop hoping that I'll be his girlfriend.

Rinko: (Y/N)... I love you.

I said as I grabbed a pillow and hug it as I pretend it's (Y/N). I caressed it gently just like how I would imagine (Y/N) was in my arms.

Rinko: I wish that Hoshino-san broke up with him.

Whenever my mind was thinking of her, it gives me an unease feeling. Like, I wanted her to break up with and go away from (Y/N). Little did I know, my hope will become true.

Fuuka's POV

After School...

Hanasakigawa Co-Ed Academy

Tuesday, Afternoon

Ugh, that (Y/N)... he's getting boring in my eyes. I can't believe I've fallen for someone like him only for him to end up not giving me what I want.

Then, that's where another guy came into my life. He's the perfect replacement for my old one. Here's how I met him.

I'm at the alleyway, about to go buy some things. Suddenly, I heard someone calling me.

???: Hey, sweetie.

A guy said that to me as I looked at him. He's really handsome and... he owns a sports car behind him! Oh my gosh, is this a dream?

I went to become flirty to him and keep myself calm. I need to forget (Y/N).

Fuuka: H-Hey, handsome~ May I help you?

???: Why, of course. Want to go out on a date with me? I'll give you a ride in my nice and comfy car.

My happiness is overload in my heart. A rich guy asking me out on a date with me is like a dream.

Fuuka: Of course I do! Umm... what's your mame?

Kazuraba: Just call me Kazuraba.

Fuuka: Oh, Kazuraba-kun~ You're my type of guy that I've been looking for. My name is Fuuka Hoshino.

When I said my name, Kazuraba-kun asked me.

Kazuraba: Aren't you that (Y/N)'s girlfriend? How about you become mine instead? I can give you money and the happiness you want.

He smirked at me and I'm happy when hearing his offer. I have no idea that he knew me that well.

Fuuka: I accept! I love you so much!

I accepted Kazuraba's offer without thinking twice because I know he won't let me down.

Kazuraba: I love you too, but before that...

He went close to me and I blushed. He brushed my hair as he lean over to my ear. I can feel his hot breath and he whispered.

Kazuraba: Break up with that (Y/N) brat so that I can have you all by myself.

His command is something quite easy for me to do since I don't need (Y/N) anymore. I regret asking him to be my boyfriend before, so now I have to do something about it. Besides, it's literally what I have in mind.

I whispered back at him as a sign of agreement.

Fuuka: Consider it's done~

Timeskip...

Rinko's POV

Hanasakigawa Co-Ed Academy

Thursday, Afternoon

The school is over for the day and I was about to go to the toilet.

Then, I saw something I didn't expect to happen. It was (Y/N) and Hoshino-san at the school area, she seems to be disappointed with (Y/N). I hid myself behind the pillars and peek at them.

Fuuka: Sorry (Y/N), but I have to dump you.

(Y/N): What? Why?

Fuuka: I have already some hot guy who is a hundred times way better than you.

(Y/N): W-Who would that be?

???: It would be me, you brat!

Then, he got punched at the face by the school bully, Kazuraba Shun. My eyes widened at him. He's the worst student here, got a very bad grades, but he's a rich boy that most girls in the school wanted to be his girlfriend.

(Y/N): K-Kazuraba? Why are you here with me and Fuuka?

He gazed at (Y/N) and Hoshino-san as they laughed at him. My heart hurts when he got hurt, but I keep myself calm and witness what was going on.

Kazuraba: What are you talking about? Fuuka is MY girlfriend. I'm the one who was supposed to ask you that.

Fuuka: Aww~ Ignore (Y/N), darling. He's here just to be a nuisance for me.

Kazuraba: Is that so? Well...

Shun-san cracked his knuckles as he smirked at (Y/N).

Kazuraba: Someone has to be taught a lesson here!

He begin punching (Y/N) really hard at the face as I cried silently hoping for Shun-san to stop.

Rinko: (Y/N)...

He continue beating (Y/N) until he had so many bruises on his body and face.

Fuuka: Darling, are you okay?

Kazuraba: Of course I am, sweetie.

Then, Shun-san spit on his face as he used his hand to spread it over all of (Y/N)'s face and wipe the leftover on his shirt.

Rinko: Stop... *sob* Poor (Y/N)... *sob*

Fuuka: Serves you right. You deserve it.

(Y/N): Why?

Fuuka: Let me tell you why. I'm already bored of you. I keep hoping that you would give me a surprise that'll make me happy. But no, all you did was to just be loyal to me, help me whenever I'm in trouble whether it's big or small and that's it. I was hoping that you would get like a sports car and take me anywhere for all day.

This makes me mad. Hoshino-san was treating (Y/N) like her bank account all this time they're in a relationship? She only seek for wealth and fame, and blinded by it.

Kazuraba: That's why Fuuka met me and ask me to be her boyfriend. I said "yes" and gave her everything that she wanted unlike you.

Hearing it really angers me. How could Hoshino-san and Shun-san said this to (Y/N)?!

(Y/N): So, you leave me because of how poor I am?

They looked at each other and then laughed at (Y/N).

Fuuka: You're quite laughable to look at. It's obvious.

Kazuraba: And as a punishment for making my girlfriend sad... I'll be happy to punch you just to see her smile again!

After that, Shun-san sent him one last punch on his face. (Y/N) couldn't fight back and I was heavy-hearted seeing this.

Fuuka: Let's go, darling. Leave this poor guy here.

Kazuraba: Anything for you, my sweetie.

Fuuka: Oh wait. One more thing before I leave. You can expose about our past relationship for all I care. Farewell.

They leave him at there, walking away as they laughed at each other. Once they're gone, I approached (Y/N) who's unconscious from so many bruise on his face.

Rinko: (Y/N)! Wake up!

He passed out after got beaten so bad by Shun-san.

Rinko: Don't worry, I'll bring you.

I tried carrying him, but to no avail, he's too heavy for me.

Random Boy: Hey! Let's help the student council's member!

I heard someone calling me as I saw two boys approaching us.

Rinko: Help me! I can't carry him all by myself!

Random Boy: Where do you want to carry this guy?

Rinko: Let's bring him to the infirmary!

Random Boy #2: Come on! Let's go then!

They carried (Y/N) as I just followed them from behind, worried about (Y/N)'s condition. Hikawa-san saw us and was shocked.

Sayo: Shirokane-san, what's going on?

Rinko: I'll tell you everything later! I want to bring (Y/N) to the infirmary now!

After a while, we finally arrived at the infirmary and I opened the door for the boys. I told them to put (Y/N) on the bed and clean him up. They washed his face to rinse Shun-san's saliva that he spit and I took the first-aid kit to wipe the bruise on his face.

Rinko: Thank you so much.

I bowed down at them.

Random Boy: Don't mention it, President!

Random Boy #2: You're trying your best for the school, so we figured that we should help you!

Rinko: I appreciate everything you guys have done. I really do.

They smiled at my compliments and they head out of the infirmary.

Random Boy: Hope you recovered quickly, bud!

Random Boy #2: Same goes to me!

They wish the best for (Y/N) who's still unconscious. They excused themselves and leave the infirmary, leaving only (Y/N), me and Hikawa-san.

Sayo: Now, Shirokane-san, tell me what happened to (L/N)?

I told her everything as she listens with carefully. Once I have done my explanation, she can't believe that happened.

Sayo: How could he?

Rinko: I feel bad for (L/N)-san.

I gazed at (Y/N) who's still unconscious from getting beaten up by Shun-san.

Sayo: Let's hope that he'll wake up soon.

Hikawa-san said as she went back to the student council's room to continue her work, leaving me and (Y/N) in the infirmary. Poor him, having to deal with a breakup and getting bullied by Shun-san.

But, I was relieved, that Hoshino-san finally broke up with (Y/N). When the time comes... I'll be the one who would teach them a lesson if they hurt (Y/N).
