Vishnu meditated on the Great Mother Goddess for an answer.

Devi Maha Kali, who rested in the air, smiled at Vishnu. "Vishnu, go forth and fight the two Danavas again."

Vishnu was surprised as Maha Kali continued. "I will distract the two Danavas with my glance. Then you should be able to slay them."

Vishnu immediately went to the two Danavas who were in the middle of the ocean.

Seeing Vishnu come back, the two Danavas were glad. "You have come back, and you want to fight. Come, stand, and fight us."

Vishnu and the two Danavas then started their battle again and rained blows on each other.

Fighting the incessant and powerful Danavas again, Vishnu looked to Devi Maha Kali for help.

Devi Maha Kali then smiled at the two Danavas and cast looks of love on them.

The two Danavas could barely focus on anything else other than the beautiful face of the Devi. To the two Danavas, it suddenly felt like they were stuck by shafts of love and they could not do anything else.

Vishnu realized the state of the two Danavas and spoke to them in a smiling voice. "Danavas, I am very pleased with the way you fight. I have never seen anything like this before. So I wish to grant you any boon that you seek."

Already the two Danavas were thrilled with the looks of Devi Maha Kali, and when they heard the words of Vishnu, they were beyond happy. Vishnu's words, in fact, made them so arrogant that they did not even think. They haughtily looked at Vishnu. "Vishnu, what can you give us? We are donors, not receivers. So instead of you granting us a boon, we will grant you anything that you want."

This was exactly what Vishnu was waiting for.

"I wish that both of you would be killed by me."
