Manik got back to home. Shreekant was sitting in the hall and checking some file. Manik came in and sat beside him. Shreekant kept the file away seeing him and passed a smile to him.

"You came back early today? Don't you have classes to attend?" Shreekant asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Dad, Fab5 doesn't need to attend classes. We are cool, you know." Manik told raising his imaginary collars. They both shared a laughter.

"On a serious note, I thought you must be spending time with Nandini as it's her birthday."

Manik passed him a smile. "She didn't come to college today, she was tired after last night. She was awake whole night with me so I thought to let her take rest."

Thinking about last night, Manik got lost. He remembered about their marriage moment. All the scenes from their marriage were flashing in front of his eyes. He didn't even realize when a sweet smile crept on his face.

Shreekant noticed the change in Manik's expression. He could see Manik was genuinely happy. He had never seen Manik so happy before Nandini walked into his life. He would love to meet her soon. He didn't get the chance to talk to her properly when they had met. The place was wrong so as the situation.

He broke Manik's trance. "Where're you lost?"

Manik nodded his head negatively. "Nowhere . You say you wanted to say something?"

"Yeah, I was saying bring Nandini home one day, I didn't have a proper meeting with her in the police station."

Manik smiled. "I will soon."

Then they talked for some more time, then they had lunch and retired to their respective rooms.

At Nandini's place
Nandini was helping chachi in puja's preparation and eagerly waiting for Manik. She was checking her watch time to time but still there are so many hours left before his arrival. She was getting impatient by each passing seconds.

After lunch amms asked Nandini to go back to her room and take rest till the she will prepare Payasam for puja. Nandini went back to her room and checked her phone but she didn't find any call or text from Manik. She thought he must be busy with the album preparation so she too didn't disturb him and decided to take a nap.

Nandini woke up when Rishab came to wake her up. She got up.

"What's the matter, Rishab? What're you doing here?" Nandini asked rubbing her eyes.

Rishab told her in sign language that amms asked her to get up and come down soon.

"You go. I'll freshen up and come."

Rishab nodded and left from there. Nandini again checked her phone but still there was no text or call from Manik. Her face fell.

"Where is Manik? Where is he so busy that he couldn't even send a text? Is he upset with me for last night's incident and on top of that I again asked him to bring sidoor for me.

But he said everything is okay. Then why is he ignoring me? Manik never forgets to call me and even if he is busy he sends me texts. Should I call him? Yeah, let me check."

Nandini was about to call Manik when she heard amms's voice calling her. She hurriedly went to the washroom and freshened up. Then Nandini ran to dpwnstairs. In this she didn't get the chance to call Manik.

Nandini was standing in front of amms. "Were you calling me, amms? Actually, I slept."

"I called you to ask, your friends are coming, right? Did you call them?"

"They will come."

"Okay, you go and get ready. It's almost 5. They'll be here any moment." Amms spoke looking at Nandini who was still in her pajamas.

Nandini panicked. "Sorry sorry sorry, amms. I was sleeping, so I didn't realise the time. I'll just go and change."

"No need to hurry, kanna. It's not that late either." Amms patted her head.

Nandini passed a smile to her and went back to her room to get ready.

She took shower and opened her cupboard. Her eyes fell on Manik's blazer and her dupatta. She smiled seeing it. It's the most precious thing she has ever got. She took it out and hugged it tightly trying to feel the warmth of Manik.

After a few minutes, she sighed and kept it back in its place. Nandini took out the anarkali amms gifted her for her birthday and got ready. She tied her hair in a bun and applied a little make up which she regularly does. She was glowing naturally which made her look prettier.

Nandini glanced at herself one last time. Being satisfied with the look, she took her phone and went down. Everyone was already there. They were ready for the puja and waiting for her only.

Nandini held her ears. "Sorry, chachi. I got late."

"It's your birthday, Nandu. So, you can be late."

Chacha too supported her. "She is right."

They smiled.

Amms came there and cupped Nandini's face. "Our Nandu is looking so beautiful today."

"That's true. She shouldn't cast anyone's evil eyes."

Then chachi took some kohl from her eyes and put it behind her ears. Rishab came and hugged her. Everyone smiled seeing them.

That time the door bell rang and chachi went to open the door.

At Manik's room
As soon as Manik got back to his room. He just fell on bed and drifted to deep slumber. He was up the whole night and this morning he also got up early as he had to pick up Nandini. He was damn tired.

Manik didn't even realize when time passed. His slumber broke with a phone call. He got irritated and growled. He thought to ignore the call. But it was buzzing continuously. He made a bad face and picked up the call.

"Who's this?" Manik's voice was dripping with anger. He shouted at the caller.

"It's me. Cabir. Are you sleeping, Manik? Are you serious? Have you forgotten, it's Nandini's birthday and we have to go to her place for veneration?" Cabir spoke all this on the go.

Manik got up with a jerk and all his sleep flew away. He took his watch from the side table and saw the time. He sighed that it's 4. He is not late. He can surely go on time.

"I remember. I didn't realize when I slept. I will meet you all directly at Nandini's place. Now hang up."

Before Cabir could say anything more, Manik cut the call. He got up from bed and ran to take shower. He came out in just his towel.

(How hot he looks!!!!!!!!! Burning it with water dripping on his body)

He was searching for some kurta in his cupboard, He found a white kurta there and took it out. He got ready in that looking killer as always.

(Manik's attire)

Manik was standing in front of the mirror setting his hair when Shreekant came to his room. He was passing through Manik's room when his eyes fell on Manik who was getting ready in traditional attire. He cleared his throat to get Manik's attention.

Manik turned back and passed him a smile seeing him standing at his door.

"Dad, come in, why are you standing there?"

Manik again turned and started fixing his hair.

"Where are you going getting all decked up? There is no special occasion that you are wearing this traditional wear?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

Manik was done with his hair. He turned to face him. "I'm going to Nandini's place, Amms has kept some veneration for her. We're invited there. So, I've to wear this."

As soon as Manik completed. Shreekant's lips curved with a smirk. "You are going to attend a veneration? That too being all decked up and I couldn't make you come with me for any veneration in past 19 years. The Manik Malhotra is changing and Nandini is doing that."

He was teasing Manik. Manik knew it but he couldn't stop blushing hearing him. Shreekant smiled seeing his son being all love sick puppy and he is loving it. He never liked that rough tough Manik.

He knew it very well. He and Nyonika are behind Manik's attitude. He tried to change it but failed, He made the wall around him and became all cold hearted. He never smiled. But now it has all changed.

Shreekant was happy seeing the changes in his son. He always wanted to give Manik a normal life but failed due to his differences with Nyonika. Now things have changed with Manik. He is smiling, laughing and blushing too.

What more can he ask for???

He silently prayed to God to keep Manik happy always.

"Dad, please don't tease me. I'm already late. I have to buy something for Nandini too." Manik said hurriedly picking up his wallet and car keys.

"Okay. Go. By the way are you coming back home tonight or are you spending the night too with Nandini ?" He asked with a naughty smirk raising his eyebrows.

Manik made a bad face trying to hide his blush. "Not again, dad."

He laughed. "Okay, go. Drive safe."

Manik smiled and ran out to avoid any more remarks from his dad.

Manik stopped at a shop to buy vermilion for Nandini. He searched a lot but wasn't able to find a perfect one. He knows it doesn't matter but still he wanted a beautiful one. At the last shop, his eyes fell on a box. But another woman was about to buy it.

"Excuse me." Manik said to the woman.

"Yes?"

"Actually I want this box. I know you've already taken it. But Nan... I mean my wife, she asked for a box and we got married recently. It's my first gift to her and it's her birthday too. It's just the way she likes. So, if you don't mind, can I have this one? I can buy another one for you."

The lady smiled. "It seems you love your wife a lot. You can take this one. I will look for another one."

Manik smiled too. "Thank you. Thank you so much."

"It's okay."

Manik paid for the box and drove off directly to Nandini's place. There he saw Alya's car and Mukti's bike which means everyone is already here, He can't go in front of everyone and give the box to Manik. So, he decided to call Nandini out.

He took out his phone from pocket and dialed Nandini's number.
