When he woke up, he just felt the side of the bed. It was cold. As expected. He knew she had a habit of waking up early. She must be with his parents right now. After all they too must have noticed his absence. He went downstairs after freshening up.

"Jeevika, did you tell Viren everything? I hope he wasn't too angry on you. You are his best friend after all. No matter what he will listen to you."

So his parents were unaware their friendship was merely hanging on a single thread all these years.

"I know, we shouldn't have pressured you to marry him. After all you did say he had a girlfriend but when we found out that she was involved with my mother for the sake of property, we had to take matters into our own hands. You are such a nice girl after all and have been his friend for years. We know given time, he will realize how lucky he is to have you as his wife."

His father said with a proud look on his face.

"Don't worry dad, I already know how lucky I am."

Seeing him smile, his parents' assumption about everything being resloved was confirmed. But Jeevika knew, he was just saying it for the sake of his parents. And she too went along, not wanting his parents to know about it for they would surely blame themselves in the end.

"Mom, dad I am thoroughly disappointed in you. You didn't arrange for honeymoon? Seems like you don't want grandkids."

Viren calmly took a bite of his apple. While others choked. Jeevika couldn't fathom as to what was going on in his mind. She for sure knew he was angry last night. But now he is on to the topic of honeymoon next morning as if yesterday night was just her nightmare. She avoided looking at him or else his parents would know, things were far different from how they imagined.

Before his parents could react, Viren took the responsibility upon himself.

"Well, since you haven't done anything, don't do anything. I will arrange for it myself. I know what Jeevi likes the best."

He slung his arm around her shoulders and winked at her. She awkwardly smiled not knowing where he was going with this. At first she thought he brought up the topic to show everything was ok between them. But then shouldn't he be thinking on how to avoid going altogether. But this guy does something completely opposite. He went upstairs whistling in a relaxed manner leaving Jeevika Wondering what was exactly going on.

Viren knew his wife, ah yes that's how he's gonna address her now. This change is most important and should be acknowledged right? So yes, his wife was tensed and confused about him more than ever since last he showed his angry avatar and now there was 180 degrees change in the morning. But yesterday's matter wasn't something to take lightly. Thus he decided to end it for once and for all. He needed to settle scores or that dear granny of his would just keep planning on and on.

'Just wait you old geezer. It's time to settle some scores.'

He smirked. Unfortunately, for him, his evil smirk was the first thing that Jeevika saw as soon as she followed him into the room.
