**Seventy Two**

It was crazy, very crazy of Amir to go with those men when he does not know what they would do to him. I went head over heels to the floor with a little yelp before turning around to glower at the person who pushed me into the room. I scramble for the scarf that had been pulled off my head instead someone had stepped on it to prevent me from picking it up. I looked up at Carlo with a fierce look. He bent down, picked up the scarf then rested his arctic blue eyes on me.

“You both have the same hair” he stare at my hair.

“Just give me the scarf” I gnashed out. He laughed throwing his head back.

“What is the use when I have seen the hair already?” He looked at the scarf as if it had offended him then in one quick movement of his hand, he ripped it apart. I said nothing and stared at him with disbelieve.

“What do you have against me?” I swallowed, my throat desiccate.

“Nothing” he threw the torn material away. “Just an undying attraction” I muttered astaghfirhullah under my breath then looked at him.

Carlo took gentle steps to me and I tried hard not to move back. I held his icy gaze that was laced with pleasure. He shrugged off his suit jacket to the floor and took out his pistol from his pocket to place it on the bed.

“I still wonder if you are not her. Everything about you is the same” he loosened the buttons of his sleeves.

“I am sure you have heard of something called identical twins”

“I see her in you” Slowly, he bent down next to me. I stole a glance at the door. It was annoying the door needs a code to unlock and there was no way out of the room. I noticed the glass lamp on the nightstand. That would help so much if I break the glass on his head. How about the pencil next to it? Pencil can kill right?

“Then wash your face to know I am not her”

“Do you have something against me?”

“You should know better than anyone” The corners of his lips went up. Noor, look at what you have gotten yourself to. A nemesis from your past.

“You are one of the few people that could sit in front of my father without fear. I like your confidence. It pulls me to you. We” He lifted his hand to my face. “Can mak……”

“Your father had taught you how to keep your hands off another man’s wife” I cut his words short and made his hand stop progressing “I see you might be into lots of women but your father must have said it a lot of times that you should stay away from a man’s wife”

“Not you. You….” He caressed my cheek. I knew the look in his eyes something I has seen many times. Lust.

“Get your hands off me!” My reflex was hard against his cheek.

I felt the stung on my palm from the force against his face. His face swept to the side. The pulse in his neck quickened as he swilled. There was a moment of silence where I felt nothing but terror and what was going to happen and the pulsing in my chest. Moisture dribbled down my back. He lifted his eyelashes. I knew there was going to be trouble. His eyes were deadly. Noor, get ready for a fight.

“I think I have hold in so much. Why don’t we just do it the other way? I can always get what I want the other way" he growled pulling me up with a strength that made me stagger.

"Leave me Carlo!" I struggled. His grasp became tighter.

He threw me on the bed and I took the chance to send my foot to his face. He cried out and teetered rearward while I took the chance to shuffle away. My breathing seized at the hard grasp at my ankle. I shrieked as Carlo pulled me back. His eyes flamed with fortitude to do the deed in his eyes. He pulled me closer, spread my legs apart then pinned then. While I struggled, he took the end of my skirt then ripped it. A loud scream with curses left my lips. I resisted, wrestled back and slapped his chest as much as I could just to prevent him from having his way when he settled in between my moving laps as he tried loosening his belt. We panted while we both battled. He got hold of my hands, compelled them to the bed. A warning from him followed next but that did not stop me from writhing underneath him. He pushed his body to mine as if to pin me down which he did. It was so wrong of him and I would not give him the possibility to have his way.

"Shut your trap!" He roared as his palm made contact against my face. My cheek stung. I felt the tears in my eyes. It hurt to get a hit from him. It hurts my ego as a woman.

"You bastard" my voice broke as I stared at his face through blurry eyes. His eyes glinted with victory.

He succeeded pushing my hand away from my chest. In a swift moment, I heard the tear and felt the top loosen around my chest. My breathing stopped, my eyes went wide but the beating in my chest continued. Carlo whistled out with delight. I stopped fighting. It felt like what he did halted everything I wanted to do. I stared at his face, mine stiffened with horror. Carlo glanced down at my exposed chest.

“You are big. What size are you using?”

That was what it too just for me to crack my palm across his face and kick him pitilessly. How my leg had moved beneath him? I don’t know. He reeled to a side of the bed. I took that as a luck to snatch his gun, pulled the slide and aim it at him.

“Wow, wow beauty. That’s so fast of you” he smirk raising his hands up. We were apart on both sides of the scattered bed. When he moved an inch, I wrapped my finger around the trigger.

“Don’t move Carlo or I would shoot you” I warned.

“I doubt that”

“Try me” he stared at me as though reading something from my face. We panted from a struggle I succeeded from.

“You won Noorie” he laughed.

I noticed the blood that trickled out of his nostril. How hard had I smacked him? I stepped back until I was standing on the floor the gun still aimed at Carlo. I have a will, the will to pull that trigger and teach him a lesson for wanting to rape me.

“Damn it!” he ran the back of his hand over his nose. “That was hard” his face was twisted to the blood he saw. He ambled nearer.

“I am warning you Carlo, don’t come closer!” my warning went into deaf ears. He took another step further "I said don't come closer!" I pulled the trigger. He wailed out as the bullet seeped into his left arm. A cry left his lips. I threw the gun to a side of the room, snatched the glass lamp from the night stand and charged at him.

The lamp shattered on his head into pieces. Glass fragments stayed in his brown hair and danced on the floor. His eyes watched me. From his scalp, blood rushed down to his face. I watched with horror at what I had done. That was just perfect. I hit him to distract him then smashed that lamp on his head. I could have laughed but held it back. He slipped to the floor like a sack of potatoes.

I exhaled hard resting a hand on my chest. That was close. He had nearly taken advantage of me. This was your doing Noor. You should have done something better that night than think of a club. My body trembled as I tried sucking in air to regulate my respiration. The shock that might have make me judder got to my legs. I sank to the floor. The door flew back. I scrambled grabbing the torn part of my top together to conceal my chest then searched for something to put over my head. A familiar form came in.

“Ines” I called.

“Ma’am” she voiced out amused. “What’s wrong with you?” she ran her eyes through me then gasped putting her gun away. Dante walked in. “Don’t tell me he….” She looked at Carlo’s lifeless body. I shook my head. “We should cover you up”

Dante sauntered to Carlo’s body. I watched as he pressed his hand on his neck.

“Is he dead?” I asked.

“No. Just knocked out”

“Oh dear” Ines crouched next to me. “Look at what he did to you” I ran my hand through my scattered hair. She rested a hand on my neck just to show me blood.

“I am hurt?” I touched the place but it stung.

“A scratch and a cut next to your eyebrow. Where is your scarf?”

“He ripped it apart”

“We can get something to cover you up”

“His shirt”

“Dante, remove his shirt. I am sure when you came back your husband must have said something about not going out”

“Of course he did”

“Ma’am, I think most times you are really pig-headed” she smiled.

They got me out after putting on Carlo’s shirt over me. It was big, falling to the middle of my thighs. Ines tried her best to get me something to cover my head. She ripped a part of the sheet off and gave it to me. I had grimaced at it before collecting it. With reluctance, I wrapped it over my head. It made me feel like a country girl reminding me of the handkerchief Cinderella ties on her head.

“Carina must have given you a device” Ines said as she helped me through gunshots and fights at the same time throwing orders at the forces around.

“Yes, she did. Is her real name Carina?” Ines ducked my head down to swing a punch at some man.

“We can call her that for now” she panted giving me a smile. I huffed.

“Secrets, Ines” I rolled my eyes. “I hate them”

“You know how to use a gun right?” she shoved a pistol into my hand.

“I do” I said in a bored tone.

“Then make use of it”

“I am in no mood to fight” I shoved the gun back to her. We turned into the final passageway that leads to the door which would take me out of the hell hole. “What about my husband?” I suddenly swirled around to look at Ines.

“He is fine”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes ma’am” she turned me into another passageway. I glanced at the device around my wrist. There was a dot indicating me. The location of the door blinked green.

“You know this thing is a genius” I smiled at the device.

“Carina did a good job giving you that” we strolled further.

“I can’t wait to be out” I shrieked and hopped into the air.

We halted at the sight of a woman leaning on the wall just a feet from the passage to my escape. Her hair, waves of brown cascaded down her back. Cladded around her body was a black dress with slits on both sides and feet concealed in heels that enhanced the beauty of her legs. Her nails coated with blood red were obvious on her manicured fingers. There was something that caught my eyes. The gun she held to her exposed thigh. Her smile, something I knew she must had used to steal away breathes and senses of men painted her made-up face. The pair of arctic blue eyes that looked at me reminded me of someone. She was familiar, very familiar and I could not just lay a finger on it.

“Hello Noorie” she greeted lifting her body from the wall. Her voice was something I have heard somewhere, supple and a little bit husky. Something that should be sexy to many men. “Liliana De Angelis at your service” Her smile grew merrier.

I stared at her face, taking slow steps towards her. She was dangerous. I knew it but that face. I stopped with realisation. This could not be happening. I muttered insults before casting her the fiercest of gazes I had ever granted anyone, my hands flew to my waist.

“It would have been easier if you had said you were Santino’s daughter instead of pretending to be my friend, Elizabeth Morning” I glowered at Liza.
