**Eight**
There is something lovely about London that made it an exciting city to be. It is wonderful and full of life. London is full of amazing things. The ambiance and energy London gives are astounding. It is a dense multiracial city which has lots and lots of interesting things going on. I had passed through lots of people during my tour and heard different languages.
River Thames, the longest river in London which stretched through the heart of London with its misty water which did not look appealing during the day but Mahira had said at night when it is lit up with boats and the city light, it is breath-taking. I could see the skyline in its background. It is overlooked by London eyes, Big Ben, one of the world's most iconic clock towers and the House of Parliaments.
Buckingham Palace where the Queen of England and the royal family stays is so beautiful. The palace is protected by greatly trained guards dressed in a red uniform which looked so cute on them. Close to the river bank is the Tower of London, a medieval castle which was once home to past kings and queens of England and the abode to crown jewels which are exhibited once a year.
London own one of the best museums in the world such as National History Museum where I learnt about the history of world wars and the history of the world. The best modern arts in the world are housed in art galleries such as Tate Modern, the National Galleries where I found George Seurat's acclaimed Bathers at Asnieres and also the Victoria and Albert Museum which was named after the late Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
London is rich in culture and history. London had sites which vary from lots of different history. From the ancient Roman ruins like London Wall to sites from the Middle Ages like the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey to lots of Victorian artefacts, sites and places like the Tower Bridge. London is a city which maintained its pride despite it was under blockade for months during the war. London fashion week which is held twice a year takes place in Somerset House.
Victoria Park, Hyde Park, Primrose Hill, Portobello Road, the Shard, Royal Albert Hall, Oxford Street, Marble Arch, Shakespeare's Globe, The Millennium Bridge, Piccadilly Circus, The Gherkin, the Venice are London's tourist attractions. Any time of the day, London is buzzing. Most places are within walking distance, biking distance, bussing distance, or tubing distance. You do not have to think about transportation. There is no need for you to stand at the bus stop for hours. There are different means of transportation which will be convenient for you. There are diversities of restaurants that sell different tasty cuisines. I think I fell in love with London.
To every clicking sound the camera made, I changed my pose giving the camera my best smile. Mahira clicked and clicked before lowering the camera and walking up to me. We were at the Venice which is famous for its winding canals and array of moored narrow boats. It is lined with building after building. At Venice, you can choose to learn how to ride a canal boat, go for a boat ride or have an afternoon tea on one of the boats. I walked away from the bridge towards Mahira who scrolled through the camera.
"They are beautiful pictures. Your poses were good" she said handing over the camera.
"Speaking as a photographer" I teased.
"I am one. I took amazing pictures. They are better than the ones you took" she fangirl herself with a pleased smile. I laughed.
"Come on, we should take one more shot of us before we go out to eat" I said beaming.
A woman passed by with her friends and we begged her to take a picture of us which she gladly did.
"Thank you" Mahira and I said before walking away.

The aroma of coffee, cocoa, and milk bathed the air of the coffee shop. Business was going smoothly with the long queue by the worktop and how almost full the shop was. People laughing and chatting and those that was at the shop either waiting for someone or to talk about business made it busier. Everyone had a purpose of being there. Mahira and I stood at the end of the queue. The door opened with a ding and a woman with low cut walked in to stand behind me. At the worktop, there was a guy tall and fair together with two ladies attending to the customers which made the queue lesser.
"Good afternoon" Mahira greeted the guy with a smile.
"Mahira, how have you been?" he asked returning her smile.
"I have been fine Jules"
"Your usual right?" he asked.
"Yes" Mahira nodded her head.
"What will you like to have?" Mahira asked me.
"Hot chocolate" I answered.
"Why don't you try our frappuccino? It is nice" he suggested to me.
"Sorry, I don't take coffee" I answered with a little curve of my lips.
"I am Jules, Mahira's friend"
"Jules, she is my sister in law and friend Noorie" Mahira introduced.
"Nice one. Not a Pakistani right?" he asked looking at me.
"Yes"
"Do you want sandwich?" he asked me.
"Yes, that will be nice"
He shouted our order into the kitchen where the clattering of pans came from.
"You have not been here for a while" he looked back at Mahira.
"I have been busy"
"Work right?" he leaned on the worktop.
"Of course"
"Alright, you ladies should seat down. Your order will be ready soon" he said.
"Thanks" Mahira and I muttered before turning "He owns this place" Mahira said as we walked towards a table close to the window that looked out at the busy street.
"Growing business" I said as we settle down into our chairs. I placed my bag on the table beside Mahira's purse.
"I have known him for seven years now" My eyebrows heaved up. "Whenever I come to this place, I branch here to either greet him or eat. He is a nice person"
"Seven years? That's long" I said.
"Yes" she leaned forward placing her elbows on the table, joined her hands then leaned her jaw on her joined hands.
"Those...." I began to talk when Jules arrived holding our order.
"Frappuccino, hot chocolate, and sandwiches for the ladies" he said placing our orders in front of us.
"Thank you" I grinned, my mouth becoming watery as the aroma of hot cocoa wandered my olfactory nerve. "Nice" I moaned as I chewed my sandwich. Mahira and Jules gazed at me.
"My pleasure" Jules said. He had a certain accent that was not familiar to me. It sounds nice but odd.
"I have gotten a better place for my business" he said handing over two cards to us.
"Congrats" I said.
"Congratulations Jules" Mahira raised, her lips curled up into a smile that showed her sparkling white teeth.
"Thanks, I will open it by next week. I hope you can make it" he gave each of us a card.
"Okay, we will try to be there if we are not busy" Mahira said examining the card.
"Thanks, Mahira and Noorie" he said and walked away.
When people leave the coffee shop, more customers arrive. The queue had become longer and the roar of some people at the other end flooded through the busy atmosphere.
After Jules left, Mahira and I began a conversation. Mahira had dragged me to shopping where we had shopped. It was stressful. Please why do some women love shopping. I hate it so much. It is tiring and you just keep walking and walking.
"That red dress looked so good on you" Mahira said after speaking about a blouse she got for her mother.
"Which one?" I asked chewing.
"The one without a back and a high slit" she said grinning with a knowing look in her eyes.
"Mahira" I groaned pinching her hand that lay on the table.
"What was that for?" she whisper-yelled when she jerked her hand away.
"For been nosy" I snorted.
The buzzing of Mahira's phone made us quiet. "Oops" she gasped picking her phone up.
"Hello Susanne" she said into the phone then paused. "I am so sorry sweetheart" she apologized picking her bag up. She gestured me to do the same thing. "I am on my way. I forgot" I did as I was told worry lines creasing on my forehead. "Okay dear, I will be there the next ten minutes" she ended her call. "We have a charity event to attend" she said paying at the worktop.
"What kind of charity event?" I asked.
"For orphans. If you have enough, you can sponsor an orphan or more than an orphan to school and donate for orphans and the needy"
That brought something to my mind. When I had checked the amount in my bank account, it was shocking. Never in my whole life did I think I will ever have such money in my account but my husband had given it to me. It was so much that even in a year, I will still have lots. I decided to use part of the money for something good finally.
