One stormy and snowy night at 2am Y/N was trying to fall asleep but she couldn't. She turned over and over in her bed trying to get comfortable and warm. Finally she gave up and sat up right. She pushed her blanket off and stood up on her frozen feet that hurt and walked over to Bucky. He was sleeping peacefully on his right side with his mouth slightly open. No sound came out. Y/N stared at him and then opened his eye. He woke up with a shock.

"Y/N? What are you doing?" He said alarmed. His metal arm grabbed Y/N's throat as a reaction. He quickly let go and put his arm behind him and apologized.

"Sorry Bucky, I couldn't sleep. So I came over to see if you were sleeping. Sorry for waking you. I'll go back to my bed now." She started walking back to her bed.

"Wait! You can climb into my bed if you want and I'll tell you a story, would you like that?" Bucky offered.

"Oooh yes please!" Y/N went and got her pillow and got into Bucky's bed on the left side.

Bucky turned over to face the little girl.

"When i was a little boy, my best friend's name was Steve. He was a short skinny dude. Some how though he was incredibly brave. He would always get beaten up by bullies. And you know what he'd say as they beat him up?"

"What?" She stared at Bucky's face with wonder filling her eyes.

"I can do this all day." Bucky said and chuckled. "He just wouldn't give up." The two of them laughed.

"And once, I found Steve in an ally on the floor, face down. Behind him was a strong man who had beaten him up.
-pick on someone your own size! I told him. Then i punished his face and kicked his butt."

"Woah! You're so cool! I wanna kick some agent's butts!" Y/N said enthusiastically punching her fist.

"Yeah, me too... but they are just too many! And if they let other super soldiers attack us back, then we have no chance." Bucky said and  put  some hair  behind  Y/N's ear.

"I wish I could meet Steve one day. Goodnight Bucky" Y/N said.

Bucky leaned closer and kissed her head.
"I hope you do. Goodnight sweetheart". Then they both turned around to have their backs to each other.

The next morning Bucky woke up first and found Y/N in his arms, her face on his chest. He smiled. He loved this kid so much.

He stayed there for a while until Y/N woke up. She moved her face away from Bucky's bare chest.

"Gomornin" she said smiling up at him.
"Good morning Y/N" he smiled back.

Y/N turned the other side and Bucky got out of bed. He stood up and walked over to the bathroom. He washed his face and put on a t-shirt.

Y/N then rolled over and fell off the bed. Bucky, from the bathroom heard the thud and ran over to her immediately.

He got down on his knees onto the carpet she was on. "Are you okay? Y/N?"

Y/N had tears in her eyes and was shaking. Then she burst out laughing. "HAHAHAHAHA! I-HAHA I fell of-HAHAHA i fell off the bed! HAHAHA" she carried on laughing.

Bucky let out a huge sigh of relief and rolled his eyes while laughing with the kid. "Don't ever do that again!" He said smiling.

"Are you hurt anywhere?"

"Hahah, Yeah my arm hurts bit... hahaha"

"Which one doll?" Bucky offered.

"This one hahaha" she said pointing to his metal arm.

"So you're fine?" Bucky squinted his eyes in search of a bruise. He found none.

"Mhm!" Y/N replied.

"Okay then, come on lets go get breakfast!" Bucky said picking Y/N up and putting her on his hip. "I don't want you to fall again so I'm going to carry you."

"Ugh buckyyy... i just fell once off the bed. You don't need to carry me. And why are you so tall?" Y/N said while being carried.

"It's not my fault im tall! And I'm carrying you until the cafeteria." Y/N wiggled and tried to get down. "And stop wiggling! I'm going to drop you!"

When they got to the cafeteria Bucky got food for himself and then asked Y/N what she wanted.

"Can i have a strawberry milkshake please? And a toast with marmite?"

"But you don't even have all your teeth yet!"

"I'll soak it in orange juice." Y/N said.

Bucky looked at Y/N weirdly. "Okay then..." he got a seat and put Y/N down.

He then went off to get a strawberry milkshake, a glass of orange juice, he spread marmite on a slice of toast, two pieces of chocolate cake, eight mini sausages, a slice of bread and cheese, a banana, an apple, a bowl of yogurt with honey, four fried eggs and a scone. He placed everything on a tray and went to sit next to Y/N.

"Here i brought you some extra food." He placed his food in front of him and Y/N's in front of her.

"Thank you Bucky for getting my food." She said every time.

"My pleasure Y/N!" Bucky would reply and they would smile at each other.

"Thank you lord God for this wonderful food, please bless it to our bodies in your holy name, ah-men" Y/N recited the prayer Bucky had taught her and they started eating.

After breakfast the two went and played chess. Y/N won fare and square.

"It's honestly embarrassing having a one year old beat me..." Bucky said.

"One and a half! I'm going to be two in three months remember?!"

"Yes I know, I know, you're a big girl now." Bucky laughed and winked at her.
