The next morning Bucky Barns woke up and went immediately to see how  little  y/n was doing. He fed her, changed her and gave her a bath. Then he dressed her up in a cute outfit.

"Come on y/n. Let's go for a walk." Bucky said. He found a stroller and took her outside.

Then some agent came up to him. He grabbed the hands for the stroller and jerked it. Y/N went flying and hit her head on the side. She started crying.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?" Bucky shouted horrified and furious with the agent.

"You don't have permission to take y/n out." He took her stroller and started walking away. Bucky stood there for a second. Then he ran over to him and punched him hard in the face with his metal arm. The agent fell to the floor. His face was completely deformed. Blood spurt everywhere. Even on little y/n.

Bucky took a step back. "Woah, I'm so sorry!" He got down to help the agent. "I didn't mean to..." and the agent took his last breath.

The agent had called security as soon as he had gotten hold of the stroller and now more agents were coming. Six men grabbed Bucky by the arms and cuffed him. Bucky didn't even struggle to get loose. He thought he deserved what he was going to get. Someone took y/n to her bedroom. She cried and cried but they just shut the door and eventually she fell asleep.

They took Bucky to some place with strong metal ironing. Like a prison. They strapped him in a chair and a machine went on his head and electrocuted him.

A man held a red notebook in his hands and started reading " ржавый, семнадцать, рассвет, печь, девять, доброжелательный, возвращение домой, один, товарный вагон."

(Translation: rusted, seventeen, daybreak, furnace, nine, benign, homecoming, one, freight, car)

These words hypnotized him into becoming the winter soldier again. He forgot y/n's existence.

He was moved to the south wing furthest to y/n's room. His old bedroom was kept ready for him, if he regained their trust.

His bedroom now was cold, moldy and horrible.

That night he walked barefoot over to his bed, his feet getting cut by the broken glass that lay on the floor. They bled as he sat on his bed and then lay down. It was 9:20 he would fall asleep in around ten minutes.

A year passed and it was Y/N's birthday! Three agents led Bucky to her room.

"You have been selected to train her to be a soldier like you."
One of them said.

Bucky started to loose his winter soldier mindset and sort of came back to his normal mind. He couldn't control it completely yet. He nodded to the three agents and they left him and closed the door.

Now they were alone. Bucky quickly went over to y/n's crib to see her. He towered over her.

"oh gosh..." he gasped covering his mouth with his metal hand as he saw the skinny child in the crib.

Her skin had holes from the blood tests and injections. She looked half dead. She saw him and recognised him. She held out her little hand and he took it. He kissed her head and he became Bucky Barns again.

Bucky started crying. "I should have been there for you! I'm so sorry! This is all my fault... I'm sorry." A tear dropped down his cheek and down his normal hand that was holding the baby's. It fell on her pale little hand and and she, with all her strength, changed her body to look fine but she was too weak to use her powers so she had to change back to her true awful state.

"You do have powers!"  Bucky whispered surprised. "oh baby i know you want to hide your pain but you are too weak right now and if anyone finds out you will be killed! please keep it a secret sweetheart." Bucky said not actually expecting her to understand.

Y/N nodded  "okay bucky".

"woah you can talk?" he said and took a step back still holding the little hand.

"mhmm, i can talk like an adult now!" she said and squeezed bucky's hand.

"that's great! now we can communicate. Do you want to go outside? oh and happy birthday!" He said grinning.

"sure! and thanks bucky, you're the only one who has said it" Y/N said sadly.

Bucky carefully picked up Y/N and held her in his arms. He then put her on his shoulders. He held her legs and she held on by his hair pulling it ever so slightly. They walked past guards and doors and got outside.

"Can we go to a park? Once i got to go to one with some older kids... haven't seen them since... hm, where do you think they are?"

"Yes, a park sound great! Y/N" Bucky said "The kids with powers were probably shot and the kids without got the super soldier serum. HYDRA waitS three years to find evidence that the child has powers..." Bucky thought to himself. No way was he going to tell that to Y/N.

Half an hour after walking, Bucky reached the park. He took Y/N off his broad  shoulders and held her hand as she struggled to walk. "I don't get to walk often, they like to put me in my cot so they don't have to worry about me. I hate it. I'm too young to be lazy. They force me to sit in special chairs and keep me underwater until i almost drown. They stick thick needles in my skin leaving scars, they take blood and do tests. They drop acids on my skin to see the reaction. They make me eat weird foods and see how my stomach reacts!"

"Oh Y/N! I know you hate it. I also had to go through that all. But I'm older. The trauma will haunt you more then it has  me. Now that they have put me in charge of you, you will be happier i promise." Bucky said letting go of her hand allowing her to walk on her own. She trotted next to him. He took small steps so she could keep up.

Bucky helped Y/N onto the swings and pushed her. Next they went to the seesaw. Bucky put Y/N on the one side and he pushed up and down the other side. Then they went to the merry go round. Y/N held on tight as Bucky pushed.

"STOPPPP! " Y/N screamed. Bucky immediately stopped the merry go round and picked up Y/N.

"You okay Y/N?"

"Yeah but they used to spin me around until i would vomit" y/n said tears in her eyes.

"Oh, okay I'm not putting you on that again" he answered scared of hurting her.

They spent the day there. When Y/N got hungry Bucky found a pear tree and picked one for her and got down on his knee and gave it to her.

"Thank you Bucky, I love you" she looking him in his blue ocean eyes.

" I love you too baby" Bucky said. Y/N then wrapped her short arms as much as she could around him. He then wrapped his strong arms around the little one year old and picked her up. He then threw her in the air and she giggled like mad.

When they got back Bucky decided that Y/N would now live in his bedroom. The HYDRA boss was fine with it and so it happened. Y/N had her own bed in Bucky's room. And Bucky had his own bed.
