The night of Y/N's second birthday the agents took Y/N and put her in a special room with a slightly cold temperature. Over the hours of the night it got colder and colder. Y/N shivered all night and her body went blue from the cold.

In the morning an agent came into her room, cuffed her and took her to the underground freezer room. Her limbs were so frozen that the agent after a bit of arguing with Y/N he eventually just picked her up and carried her to the special room.

Bucky had gotten up extra early and stayed close to the room Y/N was in to follow her to the room. He wasn't seen by anyone though.

"Am I going to die if i get frozen?" Y/N asked the agent through chattering teeth.

"Possibly..." he replied. He looked at the child in his arms with slight sympathy. "I actually don't want you to die Y/N... You are my favorite kid here! Don't tell anyone please."

"I won't, I promise. So how did you become a HYDRA agent?"

"Well, my family had alwys been in deep dept and they all saw me as their provider. My first job was as a personal trainer for Howard Stark. After he fired me for steeling a very important file my best friend told me he was going to work as an agent for a secret company for the next forty years. He was my best friend and I could't just let him go like that so i asked him for information so i could join. He still hadn't worked as an agent yet so he didn't know what he was risking. I got the information i needed, signed over my life to HYDRA and became an agent. The pay is incredibly high so i can provide for my family. They all encouraged me to take the job. Eight years into the job, my best friend gets shot on a mission. I'm left alone. I talked to Boss and asked if i could resign but he threaded my life and said no. Basically all the other agents will give you a similar reply about why they joined. We also get a light brainwashing every Saturday night. Some get affected less than others, like me. Some though get it really bad." he finished and he walked down the last flight of stairs leading into a room filled with Cryostasis Chambers.

"We're here unfortunately." the agent said sounding rather sad.

He sat Y/N in a chair and Boss came out from behind a Cryostasis Chamber. He had been examining the person inside's vitals.

Bucky watched from a distance.

"Victor, dress the kid in these," boss handed victor a white shirt and pants. "and strap the child to that standing bed over there after the serum" Boss said to an agent pointing to a chamber.

"Sir, she is a lot smaller than everyone else we have frozen... will she survive a decade in there?" Victor asked as he dressed Y/N into the white outfit.

"Theirs only one way to find out!" Boss said.

Next he have her the super soldier serum. Y/N cried as the serum burned. "It feels like my veins are on fire!" She complained.

"Should I give her a second dose? She might not make it..." victor asked Boss.

"Do whatever you want." Boss said. He was further away now and was looking at another person's vitals.

"Noo please don't! Please!" Y/N begged. In went the second shot in her other arm this time.

They waited for ten minutes and then Victor gave Y/N a hand size rock.

"What do you want me to do with this now?!" She said taking the rock. She was sitting on the chair again.

"I want you to crush it." Victor said. Y/N closed her hand over the rock and squeezed. She opened her hand to reveal lots of small pieces of the rock. Victor wrote it down.

"Okay then, we're ready!" He said.

Bucky then, by some chance, appeared. He came over to Y/N and got on his knees in front of her.

"Oh Bucky! I thought I wouldn't see you for the next ten years! I'm so glad you're here!" She put out her arms and hugged Bucky around the neck.

"I couldn't leave you without saying goodbye!" He said hugging the little girl. He then moved closer and kissed her forehead. "I love you!".

"I love you too!" They hugged one more time. Y/N planted a kiss on Bucky's cheek.

The three other people in the room stared
at the two of them but didn't say anything.

Victor picked up Y/N and put her in a pod. He then put some monitors on her body. He strapped her up so she wouldn't fall and then closed the door. Y/N then gave a final wave to Bucky and the freezing began.

Two minutes later the pod was at absolute zero and Y/N was frozen. Her eyes though had remained open and over the years she observed what was happening around her.

Bucky then asked if he could be frozen too for a decade. They agreed and put his pod close to Y/N's.

And so he was frozen too.
