On their way to Castelia City , Y/n and the others run into a newly-opened Pokemart . Excited, Iris runs in, followed by the others. 

As Y/n looks around at all the goods on offer, he saw that there's items such as evolution stones, different types of Pokeballs, vitamins , etc. He ended up buying them along with some choice items and a set of flutes.  After placing away his new purchases, Y/n heard a loud commotion from outside.

Checking it out, he saw Ash arguing with someone. Asking Coco what's going on, she explains that girl was named Burgundy, a Pokemon Connaisseuse. She had "evaluated" Ash's Pokemon and deemed them unfit for him and he was to change his entire team which angers him. 

But before things can escalate, Palutena decided to step in. It didn't take her long to get Burgundy to confess she has a C ranked Connaisseuse, which are beginners and are typically only assistants of an A-Class or above Connoisseurs. Ash is furious upon hearing this, and questions her so-called expert opinion. Burgundy boldly proclaims any other Connoisseur would say the same thing. Cilan soon appeared, and Burgundy reveals there's history between them.

Long story short, she had challenged him to a gym battle and lost, but her dramatic mind caused her to think Cilan to say things he clearly would never say.

Burgundy challenges Cilan to a revenge battle, saying that if she wins, Ash has to give up all of his Pokemon. Ash is very worried, but Cilan accepts anyway, and in the process of defeating Burgundy, gently attempts to teach her the value of open-mindedness when evaluating Pokemon and Trainer compatibility. Angrily, she vows to come back again to beat Cilan before stomping away, causing many to sigh at her dramatic attitude.

Our heroes decided to continue shopping, but as Y/n looked over a set of gems, he was approached by Palutena.

"We'll take it." She said as she paid for it. After Y/n placed away the set of 18 gems, she pulled him aside.

"Y/n, we're needed for a mission in the Paldea region."

"Paldea? I only hard of it, and what mission?"

"You see, in the Paldea region lies four powerful legendary Pokemon that's been sealed away." She said. 

" Once special treasures found in the east, they been corrupted by negative human emotions to become Pokemon. Long ago, a king that once ruled Pladea gained possession of them from merchants in his greed for riches. His greed awakened the Pokemon, causing them to go berserk and cause disasters that would destroy the kingdom. They were soon sealed away."

"That's... quite the story, but what does it have to do with our mission?" 

"We're going to unseal and capture them."

"What?! Is that wise after what you told me?!"

"Rumors speak of Team Rocket is after them, we'll need to capture the treasures of ruin before they do."

"I see.... understood, but i'll need you to help me on calming the rage they undoubtedly still hold."

"Of course Y/n, i would have helped even if you didn't ask me."

Soon, they were at Paldea's Grasswither Shrine. They had to remove eight purple stakes to break the seal, but as they were about to open the shrines door, many team rocket members appeared.

"Hold it right there, the tablets of ruin is ours!" A high ranked member said.

Both student and teacher look at each other for a second before both rolling their eyes, a aura barrier then suddenly surrounded the rocket members."

"What the?!"

"Are all team rocket members idiots? What makes you think you can sneak up on a aura guardian?" Y/n asked sarcastic. "Your punks aren't as cracked up to be if you don't know that little detail." He deadpanned.

"We sensed you following us from the beginning, so we set up a trap for you." Palutena said. "Now be good and wait for others to arrest you."

Before the rocket members could complain, Palutena made the barrier soundproof. They then turned to the shrine door,  it soon burst open and releasing the Pokemon within it.

Y/n pulled out his new Rotomdex Palutena gave him before coming to Paldea.

"Wo-Chien, the Ruinous Pokemon. A Grass and Dark Type. The grudge of a person punished for writing the king's evil deeds upon wooden tablets has clad itself in dead leaves to become a Pokemon." 

"Kommo-o battle time!"

A pressure suddenly caused Kommo-o's attack to be lowered.

"If i'm right, this is it's ability tablets of ruin, which lowers the attack of all Pokemon other then itself." Palutena hummed. "The others has similar abilities, but each lowers a different stat."

"Kommo-o, X Scissor!"

Kommo-o's claws glow light green. It then slashes at Wo-Chien with its claws in an 'X' formation, knocking it back, the Ruinous Pokemon tried to counter with power whip but Kommo-o managed to dodge by jumping back.

 Wo-Chien creates a dome of green energy that surrounds it and Kommo-o, it then was surrounded by a red and black aura before tackling Kommo-o.

"That was Ruination, their signature move, it always cuts the targets health in half." Paluetna informed Y/n. "You must end this quickly, as with Grassy Terrain, this could go on for hours"

"Understood, lets do this Kommo-o!" Y/n said causing the scaly Pokemon roared in agreement.

Striking a series of synchronized poses, both Y/n and Kommo-o began to build up z power.  Kommo-o then created a purple ball of energy before firing it, the ball then  changes into the shape of a dragon and is headed to Wo-Chien.

"Go Devastating Drake!"

The Z move hit it's mark, causing a large explosion. When it died down  Wo-Chien was greatly weakened, taking the chance, Y/n quickly threw a dusk ball.

1...2...3 and Ping. And with that,  Wo-Chien was caught.

After sending the captured rocket members to the international police to be arrested, Y/n and Palutena searched for and removed eight yellow stakes, they then found the Icerend Shrine. But before they can interact with the gate, a another squad of rocket members appeared, but didn't even get a chance to say anything as a barrier quickly trapped them before they can even speak.

The shrine door soon burst open, releasing the Pokemon within it, causing Y/n to scan it with his Rotom phone.

"Chien-Pao, the Ruinous Pokemon. A Ice and Dark Type. This Pokemon can control 100 tons of fallen snow. It plays around innocently by leaping in and out of avalanches it has caused."

"Lucario battle time!"

"It's ability sword of ruins, causing other Pokemon's defense to be lowered." Palutena informed her student. "It's also interesting their also called by their abilities."

"Aura sphere!"

Lucario created a sphere of aura before he can fire it, Chien-Pao hit him with a sucker punch. Lucario glowed slightly as his justified ability was activated, he then fired the aura sphere, the attack hit it's mark and sent the Ruinous Pokemon crashing to the wall.

Taking a chance, Y/n quickly threw a dusk ball.

1...2...3 and Ping. And with that, Chien-Pao was caught.

After sending the rocket members to the international police to be arrested, they searched for eight green stakes , they then found the Groundblight Shrine. Surprisingly, no rocket members appeared when they interacted with the door. 

The shrine door soon burst open, releasing the Pokemon within it, causing Y/n to scan it with his Rotom phone.

"Ting-Lu, The Ruinous Pokemon. A Ground and Dark Type. It slowly brings its exceedingly heavy head down upon the ground, splitting the earth open with huge fissures that run over 160 feet deep."

"Milotic battle time!"

"Vessel of ruin lowers Special Attack, normally a problem, however..." Palutena told Y/n.

Y/n nodded, he saw Milotic glow as her Competitive ability was activated.

"Use surf!"

Milotic creates a big wave, which she rides until the wave crashes into Ting-Lu, the Ruinous Pokemon tried to attack with Ruination but MIlotic managed to dodge.

"Hydro pump!"

MIlotic fired a powerful blast at Ting-Lu knocking it back, Y/n then took the chance to threw a dusk ball .

1...2...3 and Ping. And with that, Ting-Lu was caught.

The guardians then searched for eight blue stakes before they found the Firescourge Shrine, when they interacted with the gate, it burst open, releasing the Pokemon within it, causing Y/n to scan it with his Rotom phone.

"Chi-Yu, The Ruinous Pokemon. A Fire and Dark Type. It controls flames burning at over 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit. It casually swims through the sea of lava it creates by melting rock and sand."

But before Y/n could send out a Pokemon, a net captured and electrocuted Chi-Yu, the guardians could sense a invisible ship above them. Knowing it belongs to team rocket and tried of their antics, both guardians fired a aura sphere at the , forcing it to release the beads of ruins and try to flee. Pity they won't get the chance.

Palutena created aura chains before sending them at the ship, the tips of the chain managing to pierce the armored layer, and with brute strength alone, she pulled the whole ship down, causing the ship to crash to the ground.

As Palutena handled the rocket members, Y/n sent out Gyarados to handle Chi-Yu.

"Waterfall!"

Gyarados surrounded himself with water before charging at Chi-Yu, the Ruinous Pokemon Pokemon managed to avoid the attack using  inferno.

"Counter with hydro pump!"

Gyarados fired a blast of water that canceled out the attack, Chi-Yu  used the smoke created to move around Gyarados quickly and fired dark pulses from all directions.

Reading his Rotomphone, he learned Chi-Yu's ability beads of ruin lowers the Special Defense of Pokemon around it. Deciding toact quickly, Y/n called out. "Earthquake!"

Gyarados slammed his tail on the ground, causing it to shake violently, this caused Chi-Yu to stop in it's tracks for Gyarados to send it crashing to the wall with aqua tail.

Y/n then took the chance to threw a dusk ball.

1...2...3 and Ping. And with that, Chi-Yu was caught.

After Palutena dealt with the rocket members, she helped Y/n with the rage that's within the treasures of ruin. They soon calmed down, but the guardians decided to send them to the guardian school so other master guardians could keep their powers under control.

They decided to have lunch before returning to the others, as Y/n talked with Palutena about the long they day had, he could only wonder what the future holds as the journey continues.
