After our heroes reached Lavender town, they headed to the ghost tower for both Y/n and Ash to catch a ghost Pokemon.

When they were at the tower's entrance, Y/n and Iseult had to convince the the scared Brock and Misty to enter. 

After convincing the scared duo to enter, they saw Pikachu deciding to take a quick nap; Ash follows suit and gets his sleeping bag, but Misty wakes them up by smacking a gong that she got from no where.

After entering the tower, the guardians began leading the group to the sources of aura they can sense. Though they had to avoid traps the ghost Pokemon that live there placed as pranks.

"You know Y/n, i'm surprised that you and Iseult are not scared at all." Ash said. "Are all aura guardians fearless like that?"

"Well Kind off. An aura guardian are trained to face any fears they have." Y/n said after a thought.

"But it's not always perfect, at most one was to swallow their fear."  Iseult explained. " It's a necessary training so they don't look like fools when faced with there fears." She continued shooting a look at Misty. Said water trainer grumbled, knowing the female guardian was talking about her fear of bug Pokemon.

"Well at lest you guys are not as bad as one of my cousins in the past...." Y/n grumbled under his breath, though everyone still heard him.

"What do you mean Y/n?" Misty asked. The others was also curious, even Bea was curious, 

"My cousin used to be terrified of ghost types." Y/n explained. " I warned him not to watch that scary movie marathon, but he ignored my warning and gained his fear." The male guardian grumbled." My uncle's ghost Pokemon didn't help ether when they would playfully chase him around"

"It go so bad that Y/n brought him to guardian school to help cure him." Iseult giggled. " He's still afraid, but he won't scream his lungs out when he sees a ghost type." 

"Maybe Misty can go though that training , to cure her fear of bug types." Ash said while looking at said trainer.

Before Misty can snap at Ash and spark an argument, a Pokemon cry caught their attention.

"Slash!"

Turning  to the cry, they were greeted by the sight of a shiny Aegislash.

"Who's that Pokemon?" Ash asked

"A shiny Aegislash? What's one doing in Kanto?" Bea asked.

"Aegislash, the Royal Sword Pokemon, A steel and Ghost type and the evolved form of Doublade. Stories say Aegislash can detect the natural qualities of leadership, recognizing a true king." Y/n's Pokedex beeped.

The royal sword Pokemon was looking at Y/n specifically, before letting out a battle cry.

Seeing he's being challenged, Y/n sent out his Nidoking.

"Flamethrower!"

Aegislash dodged the incoming flames before switching into it's blade form and knocked Nidoking back with sacred sword.

"Stone edge!"

Nidoking fired sharp stone spikes at Aegislash, who quickly switched to it's shield from to use king's shield to block it.

"I need to find a way around it's defenses" Y/n thought before calling out."Flamethrower!"

The royal sword Pokemon once again once again dodged and prepared to strike with sacred sword.

"Intercept it with fire punch!"

Nidoking fists becomes surrounded by red-yellow flames then punches the incoming royal sword Pokemon. The attack struck it's mark, knocking Aegislash back and burning it.

"Now flamethrower!"

Nidoking let out a blast of fire that struck it's mark, when the flames died down, Aegislash was barely standing. Y/n took the chance to to throw a dusk ball.

1...2...3 and ping, with that Aegislash was caught.

After picking up the dusk ball containing his new Pokemon, Y/n recalled Nidoking before continuing the search.

Soon our heroes encountered a trio of the Gastly line, a trio of friendly pranksters that set up the pranks earlier. Ash and the Haunter bonded greatly, and the gas Pokemon agreed to help Ash with his gym battle.

A one day later

After reaching Saffron city, they were on their way to the gym. A man tried to warn them to stay way, but they ignored said warning and when ahead anyways.

When they entered the gym, finding it empty at first. They run into a door and look inside, finding several people in the room practicing.  A man confronts them and Ash asks for a match against Sabrina. When Misty asks what the people in the room were doing, he demonstrates his telekinetic abilities by bending a spoon. The man leads them to the arena and bows down in front of a gate, asking Sabrina to come out.

The door opens, revealing the gym leader and a little girl. The latter's eyes glowed red as she sent the man flying.

"Hey! That wasn't very nice!" MIsty snapped.

The suddenly teleported in front of Y/n, who only blinked.

She smiled" Your so bright! Why is that?" 

"Telepathy right" Y/n guessed as he kept his eye one her.

She giggled" I like you, would you like to battle with me?"

"Yeah , both my friend and i would like a battle." Y/n nodded.

"Okay, but i want a one vs two battle, me against the two of you. If you lose, you'll have to play with me." She giggled. never losing her smile, Y/n could tell she's more then meets the eye.

"I accept." Y/n said.

"Same here." Ash nodded.

The door then closes, sealing them inside with Sabrina.

After getting to their side of the battlefield, the girls tosses out a Pokeball that appears in her hand, sending out an Abra.

"Abra, a Psychic Power Pokémon. It sleeps eighteen hours a day, but employs telekinesis even while sleeping. Ash's Pokedex beeped.

"Haunter i choose you!" Ash called out to the gas Pokemon who appeared from his shadow.

"Aegislash battle time!"

"Shadow ball!"

Both ghost Pokemon fired a ball of purple energy at Abra, who teleported behind them.

After the the few attacks missed, Abra suddenly evolved into Kadrabra!"

"Kadabra, a Psychic Pokemon. The evolved form of . Employs powerful telekinetic attacks."
 Ash's Pokedex beeped.

"Shadow sneak!"

Aegislash quickly sunk into her shadow ,  she then struck the evolved psi Pokemon from behind. But much to her and Y/n's annoyance, the damage was undone with recover.

Haunter suddenly appeared in front of Sabrina,  Haunter makes funny faces and even pulls out a bomb, exploding it in front of Sabrina. The effort works as Sabrina cracks a smile, progressing to hysterical laughter.

The man that warned them before appears and reveals himself to them as Sabrina's father,  he notes that Haunter has helped Sabrina. Ash is still angry that they did not win, but Sabrina's father points to Kadabra rolling on the floor laughing, since Sabrina and Kadabra are joined telepathically. 

"No fair!" The girl cried. "You made us lose!" She cried  as she disappeared.

Sabrina's father declared Y/n and Ash the winners, though Y/n and Iseult rolled their eyes when he added  "Even though ones a aura guardian."

"Aura guardians and psychics were once rivals, unable to stand the other like  fire and water." Iseult explained to the others " Though that's supposed to be ancient history. Guess that type of thing still hasn't changed in some"

Sabrina's eyes glowed blue as she lifted her father in the air. "As she explained, that rival ancient history,  so please don't start with this."

Sabrina's mother then appeared, having being freed from a doll house when her daughter was returned to normal, telling her husband to drop it as well.

Sabrina have Y/n and Ash the marsh badge as their prize for "defeating " her. She surprised everyone by kissing the former in the cheek.

While Brock was jealous, Misty was giggling and Ash was clueless, the other two was not was pleased.  Sabrina's father was about to say something, but one look from from his wive shut him up.

Y/n and his friends leave Saffron City, waving goodbye to Sabrina, her parents, and Haunter, who has decided to stay with Sabrina. As Y/n walked, he could only wonder what the future will hold.
