Y/n was the hoenn region, reports of keystones being stolen all over the region by a mysterious girl in a cloak. He was informed that her name is Zinnia, a Draconid Lorekeeper. It was foretold that a meteor would fall from the heavens and they planned to call Rayquaza to prevent it from striking the Pokemon world. The stolen keystones were supposed to be used as a catalyst to summon the sky high Pokemon. Fearing that Rayquaza itself lost it's powers due to lack of use after centuries, Y/n was given a meteorite that was brimming with energy that seems to react to keystones and mega stones. 

Entering the sky pillar, he met with Zinnia who greeted him with a friendly attitude. As they climbed the tower, she explained the history of the Draconids along with her own plan, which was to manipulate team magma and Aqua in the hopes of having Groudon and Kyogre resurrected in order to call Rayquaza back to the world to destroy the meteoroid, despite the fact being fully aware of the fact that her actions would risk the lives of many people and Pokemon.

"Are you crazy?!"

"It was a risk i was willing to take."

"What's the point of having Rayquaza destroy that meteor if there's nothing else to save?! Not to mention, it would be too busy trying to stop those two to even focus on it!"

"Eh, i would have figured something out."

"Would have?! Your awfully calm for someone who's plan nearly risked countless lives!"

"Relax, besides, thanks to you, i was forced to have a change of plans when you captured Groudon and Kyogre."

"Those keystones better be returned to their rightful owners after this."

"Yeah Yeah, i'll return them after this." She shrugs off Y/n's words ." Now step back and let me do my thing."

Y/n growled as she dismissed his words but stood back as requested.

"With jewel bright and borrowed might from the spirits of the departed... Through sacred rite, in thy great sight, my life as well I offer..."" She began to pray "...Ugh...ngh...gh... "I summon thee...to aid...this fight... and save us...from disaster!" Realize them...upon this world...! For this I do summon thee!" "Rayquazaaa!!!"

In a flash of green light, the lord of the skies descended, answering her summons.

"I did it! I...I did it!" She cheered. "Great Rayquaza! Hear my wish! Achieve your Mega Evolution! Take hold of your true power! Show me your true face! The Rayquaza that will save this planet!" She tried to mega evolve Rayquaza but failed.

"Huh?! H-how can this be?! I gathered all of the Key Stones that could withstand your great power... and summoned you here... You came... And yet... Why?!" She tried again but nothing.

"Come on! Do it! Mega Evolve! Why?! Why won't you..."

"It's just as master Palutena feared, it's most likely Rayquaza that's lacking power due to centuries of no use. Luckily... " Y/n pulled out the meteorite he had and it began to glow. 

"That's—?! What? That Meteorite?! It's just like...a Mega Stone?!"

Rayquaza let out a roar before suddenly snatching the meteorite and swallowing it in one motion, causing them to jump in surprise. They soon felt Rayquaza's energy began to spike sharply as it let out a roar.

"Swallowing meteorites allows it to store as much power as a Mega Stone. Your Meteorite summoned forth the power needed for Rayquaza to Mega Evolve! Hah! It's amazing!"

"Y/n, Rayquaza wants to test you, the one who gave it power! Use everything you've got and win over Rayquaza! You have to master it! This is the Legendary Pokemon that all Hoenn views as our great protector! And the only one who can direct it now... It's you! You have to do this!"

Y/n got ready as Rayquaza roared a challenge. 

"Ninetales, battle time!"

"Ice beam!"

Ninetales fired three light blue lightning bolts from her mouth at Rayquaza who dodged it with fly, it then dove at Ninetales.

"Dodge and use hail!"

Ninetales barely dodged it and let out a cry, causing clouds to form and hail to form.

"Blizzard!" 

Ninetales cries out, summoning a powerful blizzard to hit a charging Rayquaza, slowing it down. 

"Now moon blast!

Ninetales gathers energy from the moon then forms an orb of pink energy in front of her mouth and fires it at sky high Pokemon, knocking it back.

Seeing his chance, Y/n threw a Luxury ball.

1...2...3 and Ping. And with that, Rayquaza was caught.

"Is it...over?" Zinnia asked. "... Congratulations, Y/n. And...thank you."
"History has chosen you... The truth remains that Rayquaza chose you and not me... But... While I don't know how to put it into words exactly... I think I understand why... ...You will be successor to our long history now. And I pass to you the final key to Rayquaza's true power. The move that only it can learn: Dragon Ascent..." Zinnia said before Y/n sent out the sky high Pokemon, who learned it quickly.

"...That's it, then. I guess...it's time that I do my last task as Lorekeeper. You have obtained Rayquaza's power for your own... Now I will have you prove to me that you can master that power... in battle! That is my final... The final duty of the last Lorekeeper of the Draconid people! Show me that you can exceed it—the entirety of history that we have clung to until today!"

She sent out her Salamance while Y/n went for Rayquaza. Due to the lack of time before the meteor strike, they agreed to a one on one.

"Now Salamance, lets show them what we can do, now mega evolve!" Zinnia declared as her mega Anklet and her Salamance's Salamencite let out four streams of light that connected together, Salamace's body began to change, and once it finished, the mega evolution symbol flashed before fading.

"Rayquaza, respond to my wish and transcend! Show your true self to us, now mega evolve!"  Y/n said as his keystone and the markings on Rayquaza's head let out four streams of light that connected together, Rayquaza's body began to change, and once it finished, the mega evolution symbol flashed before fading.  Soon, strong winds appeared on the battlefield.

"So this is Rayquaza's true face, it's true form.." Zinnia said it amazement. "Now let's see what it can really do!"

"Dragon pulse!

Mega Salamance and Mega Rayquaza fires a giant multicolored dragon-shaped energy from their mouth and clashed, but it didn't last long before Mega Rayquaza overpowered Mega Salamance, knocking it to the ground.

"Dragon ascent !"

Mega Rayquaza flies high into the air. Its body then becomes outlined in a green aura, and it dives into Mega Salamance at high speeds, kicking up a cloud of dust. when it died down, Salamance turned back to normal as it was down and out.

Zinnia was silent for a bit before she spoke. "...I guess...it falls to you now... That settles it, then..." "Y/n, you should even be able to beat that meteoroid that's approaching the planet. You and Rayquaza...together. I am leaving this task to you, our new Successor. Successor Y/n. You and Rayquaza must protect nature...Pokemon...the people..."

Y/n nodded before wearing a special suit he obtained from Palutena before coming to hoenn, he then got on Rayquaza, Zinnia wished him luck before Rayquaza took off.

It took Rayquaza almost three minutes to reach the meteor, the sky high Pokemon mega evolved used Dragon ascent to break though the meteor with ease.

Y/n watched has the pieces of the meteor harmlessly float away, and any pieces that entered the atmosphere was ether burned away or fell to earth harmlessly.

"Alright Rayquaza, mission accomplished now let's head back to huh?" Y/n said before seeing something among the remains of the meteor.

It was a triangle? It then moved in pattern before stopping at the center, it then exploded revealing A Deoxys?

Y/n pulled out his Pokedex to scan it.

"Deoxys, the DNA Pokemon. A Psychic type, The DNA of a space virus underwent a sudden mutation upon exposure to a laser beam and resulted in Deoxys. The crystalline organ on this Pokemon's chest appears to be its brain."

Y/n was pulled out of his thoughts when Rayquaza dodged a night shade from Deoxys.

"Dragon ascent!"

Mega Rayquaza flies high into the air. Its body then becomes outlined in a green aura, and it dives into Deoxys who switched into it's defense mode to block it but it was pushed back. It then switched to it's attack mode and fired a hyper beam which Rayquaza easily dodged. It then switched to it's speed form before it sped around Y/n and Rayquaza to confuse them.

Knowing he was running out of time, Y/n knew he needed to make this quick. "Rayquaza, charge out a dragon pulse and fire in my signal."

Rayquaza nodded and changed up a dragon pulse, waiting for it's new trainers signal.

"Now!"

Rayquaza launched the attack, which managed to nail the DNA Pokemon on the crystalline organ on it's chest, stunning it.

Taking the chance, Y/n infused a Cherish ball with aura before throwing it at the DNA Pokemon. The aura stuck to the ball and a rope of aura still connected to Y/n's hand.

The ball sucked the DNA Pokemon in before Y/n used the aura rope that was still connected to his hand to pull it back.

1...2...3 and Ping with that Deoxys was caught.

Y/n and Rayquaza flew back to Sky pillar, when he landed he shook his head, reentry felt very weird.

Y/n noticed Zinnia was gone, he saw her Whismur named Aster with a note, after taking the note Aster left as well.

"I was finally able to bring everything to an end. I thank you for that. I think I'll spend some time now trying to find out if it's also possible to forge a new beginning for something once lost. Until we meet again, Zinnia."

Y/n sent Rayquaza to Pneuma, as a precaution in case Groudon and Kyogre began to fight. He  looked at the blue skies, he wonders what the future holds as the journey continues.
