Our heroes come to a prairie where the Laramies, a family of Pokemon Ranchers live. They learn from a daughter of the Laramie family that a race is held at the ranch once a year to measure the growth of everyone's Pokemon. However when said daughter, Lara was practicing, something spooked the Tauros, causing Lara to be injured. 

Suspicious of what happened, both Y/n and Iseult investigated what happened. Turns out, team rocket was the cause, they were hired by Lara's main opposition is Dario, a Dodrio Trainer who  intends to win the competition by any means necessary.

This angered them and they wanted to give him a piece of their minds, but they decided against it, knowing it's better to beat him in his own game.

  Back with the others, with her injured arm, Lara would not be able to ride Ponyta, but after seeing Ash try to rein in Ponyta, she tries to convince Ash to take her place. At first, Ponyta is reluctant and burns Ash , but Lara insists that both stand to gain from winning, with Ash improving his Trainer skills and Ponyta from its upbringing. Ash and Ponyta use the entire night to prepare for the race.

The next day, Ash, Misty and Brock along with Ash's Pikachu and Squirtle joined the race. Bea and the guardians didn't join, Y/n and Iseult had told the others about Dario so the three was on standby in case he tried something again.

After the racers reached the halfway point, Dario revealed  his alliance with Team Rocket, causing Bea and the guardians to step in. With Misty, they told Ash to win the race while they handled the trio of buffons. A combined aura sphere from both guardian's Lucario managed to send them flying.

They then watched as Ash and Dario race to the finish, despite the latter's attempted to cheat , Ponyta evolves through sheer will to win into the much-faster Rapidash. Ash and Rapidash catch up to Dario and by a nostril manage to overtake him to claim the victory in a photo finish.

Believing that he had been cheated, Dario orders Dodrio to attack Rapidash, but is sent flying by a kick from its powerful hooves. Ash and Lara proudly hold the winner's flag and Rapidash nuzzles Ash.

After our heroes bid farewell to the Laramie Ranch and continue on their way to the Safari Zone, Y/n received a call on his Xtransceiver, he picked up to see Palutena on the line.

"Y/n, is Iseult with you?" Palutena asked.

"I'm here master Palutena, is there something the matter?" Iseult asked.

"I'll need you in Alola while Y/n is need in Hoenn where another master guardian awaits."

"May we ask why?" Y/n asked.

"You'll see when you reach your destinations. I'll be sending my Gardervoir and Gallade to send pick you up."

Soon both Pokemon arrived, with Gallade taking Y/n and Gardervoir taking Iseult.  Y/n soon found himself inside a cave and saw the other master Palutena spoke off named Pneuma.

"Master Pneuma, what seems to be the problem?" 

"Y/n, welcome to the Terra Cave." Pneuma said as she led Y/n deeper. "The resting place of the legendary Pokemon Groudon."

"And why are we here?"

"Rumors speak of two organizations that seeks to use the power of the ancient Pokemon to reshape the world." Pneuma explained. "They say it's for a good cause, but you know the old saying."

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions..." 

"Indeed, as Mythra once said, "if nature wants to show us who's boss, it will."  We humans cannot fully control nature, if one tries, it'll only lead to devastating consequences." She explained. "With the help of the Weather Institute, we managed tracked down both ancient Pokemon."

They soon reached a large lava pool, at the center was the slumbering form of the legendary Pokemon that created the land.

"Groudon, the Continent Pokemon. A Ground Type. Groudon is said to be the personification of the land itself. Legends tell of its many clashes against Kyogre, as each sought to gain the power of nature." Y/n's Pokedex beeped.

" Both Groudon and Kyogre had a different form in the past, said forms are the ones said to created the lands and sea in the ancient past with something known as Primal Reversion." Pneuma explained as she searched for something in a bag she brought with her.

"For them to undergo Primal Reversion, they each require a item, the Red orb for Groudon and the blue orb for Kyogre." She said before pulling a interesting item out.

"Master Pneuma, is that...."

"The red orb? Yes. "The item that allows Groudon to undergo Primal Reversion, it also allows slight control of said Pokemon." Pneuma said as the orb began to glow, soon the Continent Pokemon awakened before it approached them, drawn by the power of the orb.

"Master Pneuma...., what's the plan here?"

"Your going to catch it ,along with Kyogre."

"Say what?!"

"I noticed you have a talent for catching Pokemon, once you do, i'll aid them on controlling their powers so they don't dry out or flood the world."

Before Y/n could respond, Groudon fired a stone edge ,causing Y/n to dodge.

"Flygon, battle time!"

"Solar beam!"

Flygon gathered energy in his mouth before firing it at Groudon, the attack hit it's mark , causing it to roar in pain, it then fired it's own solar beam.

"Dodge and keep using solar beam!"

While dodging Groudon's attack, Flygon fired solar beams at all directions, the sun helped the Mystic Pokemon fire multiple solar beams in a short time. When one forced Groudon to it's knees, Y/n took a chance to throw a heavy ball a it.

1...2...3 and ping. And with that, Groudon was caught.

After retrieving his heavy ball with a aura arm,  he handed it to Pneuma. Palutena's Gallade then sent them to a place known as the Marine cave.  Going deeper, they found a large lake , at the center lies the sleeping form of the sea basin Pokemon.

"Kyogre, The Sea Basin Pokemon. A Water Type. Kyogre is said to be the personification of the sea itself. Legends tell of its many clashes against Groudon, as each sought to gain the power of nature." Y/n's Pokedex beeped.

Pneuma then pulled out the blue orb before it began to glow, waking the legendary from it's slumber.

Soon Kyogre woke from it's slumber before approaching them, drawn by the orbs power. Y/n then got ready.

"Zapdos battle time!"

"Thunder!"

Zapdos lets out a screech before a large bolt of lighting struck Kyogre, causing it to roar it in pain. Kyogre forms multiple blue orbs all around its body. It then fires a beam of blue energy from each orb at Zapdos who dodged without command.

"Zap cannon!"

Zapdos releases a yellow orb of electricity with a red center in front of its mouth and fires it at the sea basin Pokemon. The attack hit it's mark , paralyzing it.

Y/n then took a chance and threw a diva ball at it.

1...2...3 and ping. And with that, Kyogre is caught.

Y/n then handed Kyogre's Pokeball to Pneuma, both guardians then met at a Pokemon center where Iseult and Palutena were waiting for them, the former revealing she has a Z powered ring like him with a Fightinium Z attached to it. 

They decided to have some snacks before returning to the other, as they ate, Y/n could only wonder what the future will hold as the journey continues.

Done and done, next time our heroes will meet a kid living with a group of Kangaskhan and Y/n's next trail will begin, meeting a fellow guardian during it. What to i mean?
