After making it out of Petalburg Woods, the group finds themselves in the urban center of Rinshin Town. May is keen to do some window shopping, Ash wants to get something to eat, Brock needs to stock up on supplies and Max is all for Pokemon hunting. The group decides to split up for the afternoon - May and Brock will go to the shops while Ash and Max find somewhere to eat while Y/n and Xenovia were in a mission given to them by Palutena.

"So we're supposed to meet her here?" Xenovia asked. They were at the town of Freezington at the Galar region's crown tundra with the aid of Palutena's Gardervoir. They were waiting for another guardian that was sent to join them.

"Yeah, we should at least sense her soon."

Soon they saw said guardian talking with a man wearing mostly orange, this was Pyra, a old friend classmate of Y/n's.

"Hello you Y/n, Xenovia." Pyra greeted once she noticed them. "This is Peony , he has some missions for us, they seem legit enough and master Palutena wants us to complete one."

Nodding, they all entered Peony's house to warm up a bit. Noticing something, Y/n asked Peony about the wooden piece on his table, he claims it was a pillow, which caused them to sweatdrop. He agreed to let them have it, and when Y/n saw a statue that looked incomplete, he then noticed the wooden piece look like it would fit.

After he attached the wooden piece to the statue, he saw the Pokemon that looked like the statue behind it, before it went behind some bushes and Y/n had a feeling it wants him to follow it. 

After calling the others, they recognized it's as the Pokemon of the statue. He pulled out his Pokedex to scan it.

"Calyrex, The King Pokemon. A Psychic and Grass type. Calyrex is known in legend as a king that ruled over Galar in ancient times. It has the power to cause hearts to mend and plants to spring forth."

The king Pokemon then explained that ever since people started to forget about him, his two loyal steeds Glastrier and Spectrier had abandoned it. Feeling sorry for the king Pokemon, they decided to help him regain the two steeds loyalty.

They managed to find some carrot seeds, they planted then them at two locations , the Old cemetery and the Snowslide slope. Once planted, the guardians gave their aura to Calyrex to help the seeds grow,once grown they obtained both a Iceroot Carrot and Shaderoot Carrot. 

Once they brought the carrots to freezington, it didn't take long before a racket was heard at the village. The horse like Pokemon was causing trouble, on white the other black.

 "Glastrier and Spectrier, my loyal steeds could it be really you?" Calyrex said telepathically.

" Glastrier the wild horse Pokemon. And ice type. Glastrier emits intense cold from its hooves. It's also a belligerent Pokemon—anything it wants, it takes by force."

 "Spectrier the swift horse Pokemon. A ghost type. It probes its surroundings with all its senses save one—it doesn't use its sense of sight. Spectrier's kicks are said to separate soul from body." Y/n's Pokedex beeped.

Both of them charged at Xenovia saw the Iceroot and Shaderoot carrot she was holding, Y/n and Pyra quickly jumped on their back and attached aura ropes to them like reins.

The wild and swift horse Pokemon trashed and bucked, trying remove the young guardians off their back.

"Children! Pour your energy into them! This will allow you both to earn their loyalty!" Calyrex called out from the sidelines.

Listening to the King Pokemon, Y/n and Pyra poured their aura though the reins. It took a minute, but both steeds soon calmed down.

Soon Palutena appeared, she used a petal of a flower that Calyrex grew and a piece of Spectrier's hair to make the reins of unity, the item Calyrex needs to unite the king with his steeds.

Using them, Calyrex regained the loyalty of his steeds. The three Pokemon thanked them for their help. The three decided to join Y/n as they wish to explore outside the tundra.

After Y/n captured them, he and Xenovia bid Pyra farewell as they and Palutena returned to Hoenn, there, before returning to the others, Paluetna brought them to a construction site where Y/n's next trail is.

The trail was simple, reach the top of the construction site to face the totem Pokemon. Y/n began to climb it, avoiding swinging steel pillars and jumping gaps. Soon Y/n reached the top, there he saw a pedestal with the steel type Z crystal, the Steelium Z.

Suddenly, something then landed between Y/n and the pedestal, it was a totem Metagross !

"Regigigas battle time!" Y/n said out the master titan.

Metagross's body becomes covered in a blue aura. It then sticks its arms forwards and charges full speed.

"Block it!"

Regigigas crossed it's arm and manage to block it and push it back.

The totem then summoned it's ally Pokemon, a Metang.

"Focus blast!"

One of Metagross's arms glowed before striking Regigigas making it take a step back, Metang then charged in and struck the continent Pokemon. Regigas puts its hands together in front of it and creates a light blue ball of energy. It then fires the orb at Metang, knocking it out.

Metagross tried for another hammer arm, but Regigigas manages to block it. 

Y/n played defensive for a bit before Regigigas let out a roar, causing him to smirk.

"Earthquake!"

Regigigas stomped on the ground hard, causing it to shake violently, damaging the Iron leg Pokemon greatly.

"Now Earthquake once more!"

Regigigas once again stomped on the ground, causing it to shake violently and damaging it enough to knock it out.

Y/n sighed in relive as he recalled Regigigas, the totem Pokemon woke up soon after. It let out a cry of congratulations before leaving. Y/n then went to the pedestal and attached the Steelium z to his Z powered ring.

After he got down, Palutena dropped him and Xenovia off at the Rinshin Town Pokemon center. As Y/n ordered something to eat, he could only wonder what the future holds as the journey continues.

Done and done, next time our heroes will encounter a mysterious gym that claims that boast that has the worlds most powerful Pokemon and Y/n will encounter a Pokemon he never seem before.
