Ash prepares to run ahead, while May, a new Trainer, lags behind. He explains that he simply wants to reach Oldale Town before nightfall. While Y/n was walking between them with a sigh and a shake of his head.

As the trio continue to walk along Route 101, May asks why Ash doesn't keep Pikachu in a PokeBall. Ash simply says it is because Pikachu is his best friend. Y/n explained further that some Pokemon dislike being in a Pokeball, which Pikachu nodded.

Soon the trio encountered an Azuril, quickly enchanted by the adorable Pokemon and  wanted to catch it. She was about to throw a Pokeball until Y/n stopped her.

"Woah there May, you can't just throw a Pokeball at it." Y/n said while holding her hand back. "You'll need to weaken it first, or it'll just break out." He explained.

A bush shook and out came an Elekid, and what caught Y/n's attention was it's shiny.

"Elekid  the Electric Pokemon. Elekid waves its arms to produce a strong electrical charge and gains strength" May's Pokedex beeped.

"Alright May, pay attention." Y/n said while pulling out on of his Pokeballs." I'll give you a demonstration."

"Scorbunny battle time!"

"Scor!" The rabbit Pokemon cried out ready.

The Electric Pokemon surprised Y/n when it charged with a dynamic punch.

"Dodge and use ember!"

Scorbunny dodged before running in place to build friction. She then kicks a pebble, setting it on fire as it flies towards the opponent.

The attack struck it's mark and knocked it back, the tried to use focus punch but winced when the ember burned it.

"Flame charge!"

Scorbunny surrounded herself with flames from charging at Elekid at full speed, the attack hit it's mark and sent the Electric Pokemon flying. When it landed, it was struggling to get back up.

Seeing his chance, Y/n threw a nest ball.

1...2...3 and with that, Elekid was caught.

After  seeing Y/n catch Elekid, May tried to catch the Azuril. But because of type disadvantage and lack of experience , May failed to catch the Polka dot Pokemon. To make matters worst, it's evolved forms Marill  and Azumarill showed up. Luckily, one thunderbolt from Pikachu was enough to scare them off.

May feels absolutely useless as she cradles her injured Torchic. Though Ash reassures her that a visit to the will help it heal up. While they run the rest of the route, May hopes that her Torchic will make it. Along the way they come across a ruin on top of a hill, where they meet Professor Alden,  an archaeologist who explains that these are the  Oldale Ruins.

Ash asks if he knows the way to the nearest Pokemon Center, and Professor Alden points them to Oldale Town, just over the hill. The trio thanked him and head on down. At the Pokemon Center, May gives Torchic to Nurse Joy and hopes for the best. After a quick examination, Joy says Torchic is fine, but it'll need to rest overnight.

Y/n split from Ash and May after leaving Elekid and Scorbunny to Nurse Joy, he had received a call from his twin brother B/n about something important.

After meeting with his ranger twin, the latter explained that there's a duo of teams called Team magma and team aqua hiding in the shadows of Hoenn, and reports of a few magma grunts were around, so he asked Y/n to help capture them, which Y/n agrees to.

The two then went to the Pokemon center where Ash and May was at, to find a group of wearing red kidnapping Professor Alden. They were about to jump in and help, but they were beaten to the punch by their twin sister S/n. Her Dusknoir had them trapped with psychic. 

Y/n then met up with Ash and May who explained what happened while he was away, the grunts was after the secrets of the Oldale ruins, so they tried to kidnapped him to uncover them.  Professor Alden then told them that the four spheres that unlocks the ruins that he found are missing,

Y/n then sensed the auras of an annoying trio, leading the group outside, they found team rocket with the missing spheres. S/n had Dusknoir take them back with  psychic before Ash sent them flying with Pikachu's thunderbolt.

Professor Alden recovers the orbs and the group all head inside the ruin chamber. The sun suddenly rises, shedding beaming sunlight into the stone room. Alden places the orbs back into an internal door and the combination begins to glow. The light trails throughout marked lines in the room. The giant block moves, revealing a hidden staircase leading to a basement area. The trio's curiosity leads them down the stairs and they come across an underground lake. Soon enough, a Relicanth  jumps out of the water, followed by several other Relicanth. Satisfied, Professor Alden thanks the group for their work.

"Relicanth, the Longevity Pokemon. Relicanth is covered in stone-like scales, which allow it to withstand the pressure of the deep ocean." Ash's Pokedex beeped.

"Y/n, your first trail will be up ahead." B/n told him."Mom and dad got permission to make trails for you from the Kahunas, you expect one to pop up once in a while."

"It's the reason why we came to Hoenn, to support you." S/n explained.

"Got it, just let me and May get our Pokemon from Nurse Joy." Y/n said.

After Y/n and May received their Pokemon from Nurse Joy, Y/n and the others  headed the trail sight that was near the ruins. 

The trail sight looks like an unfinished construction site, with moving panels to move up and across.  Y/n headed to the to the beginning panel, his siblings and his traveling companions watched from a screen nearby. (The Siblings had already explained what a trail is) 

After slowly making his may up, oddly not encountering any Pokemon along the way. As Y/n reached the top, he saw the the fighting type Z crystal, fightinium z at the pedestal at the other end of the roof. Y/n kept his guard up, knowing a totem Pokemon wouldn't have it with out a fight.

Suddenly something landed between Y/n and the pedestal, when the dust died down, it revealed a totem Magnazone!

"Woah! Who's that Pokemon? " Ash asked never seen it before.

"It's a Magnazone, the evolved form of Magneton." B/n explained.

"Lucario battle time!" Y/n sent out his aura Pokemon.

The magnet area Pokemon fired a thunderbolt at Lucario

"Dodge and use aura sphere!"

Lucario dodged the thunderbolt before charging up a blue sphere, he then fired it at Magnazone which hit it's mark.

Magnazone then called it's ally Pokemon, a Magnaton.

"That's a ally Pokemon, a totem can call out up to two ally Pokemon in a battle." B/n explained.

"Earthquake!"

Lucario stomped hard, the caused the trail sight shake violently. The attack struck it's mark, and knocked out Magnaton  but Magnazone was able to hold on.

"Quick! Before it recovers, bone rush!"

Lucario quickly created a energy bone before striking Magnazone multiple times,the magnet area Pokemon couldn't react quick enough and took  all the strikes head on knocking it back and kicking up a cloud of dust.

When the cloud died down, it revealed Magnazone down and out.

Y/n let out a sigh of relive as he recalled Lucario, Magnazone  awoke and congratulated  with a buzz  Y/n before leaving.

After attaching the  fightinium z to his Z powered ring, Y/n took a panel that took him all the way down. After congratulated Y/n, the siblings went  their separate ways. B/n returned to the Oblivia region and S/n return to Kalos.

As the trio made their way to Petalburg city, Y/n could only what the future holds as the journey continues.
