Y/n was getting ready for his gym battle with Opal, he was talking to his rivals about the battle ahead. Opal seems to ask questions in battle, if answered correctly, the challengers Pokemon stats will be raised, dropped if answered incorrectly. And the questions are different every time.

Hop was first, he was still unsure of himself and answered two of the questions wrong. He managed to pull out a win, though just barely. 

Marnie had a bit of a tough as her Pokemon were all dark types, which has a type disadvantage against Opal's fairy type Pokemon. She managed to answer all of the questions correctly, which she admit's the stat increase helped her to win.

Next it was Y/n's turn, he took a deep breath before talking to the battlefield.

After shaking hands, they when to their sides of the battlefield and got ready.

"Drapion, battle time!"

"Weezing, do your best."

The Weezing Opal sent out is very different from it's kanto counterpart, Y/n's Rotomdex scanned the Poison gas Pokemon.

"Weezing the Poison gas Pokemon. Galarain form.  A poison and fairy type. This Pokemon consumes particles that contaminate the air. Instead of leaving droppings, it expels clean air." Rotom beeped before shutting off.

Y/n raised a eyebrow at that, it purifies the air instead of polluting it? That's different.

"Cross poison!"

"Dazzling gleam!"

The two attacks clashed and canceled each other out. 

"First question, do you know my nickname?" Opal asked. "The magic user or The wizard?"  

"The wizard." Y/n said. Guessing from the rumors he heard.

"Ding ding ding! Congratulations, you're correct." Opal said.

A red light shines one Drapion, increasing his speed sharply .

"Earthquake!"

Drapion slammed his tail on the ground, the attack (somehow) hit it's mark damaging it greatly.

"Now Fire fang!" 

Using the speed boost, Drapion got close and chomped down with fangs of fire.

The attack was too much for Weezing to handle so it was down and out.

Opal recalled the poison gas Pokemon before sending out a Mawile.

Y/n recalled Drapion before sending out Cinderace.

"Pyro ball!"

"Fairy wind!"

Cinderace ignites a small stone and launching it as a fiery ball at the target, it broke though the fairy wind and hit Mawile head on, knocking it out.

Recalling Mawile, she then sent out a Togekiss.

 Y/n recalled Cinderace and sent out Toxtricity.

"Second question, What is my favorite color? Pink for purple?" Opal asked.

Y/n first thought it was pink, since it was everywhere. But it seem a bit to obvious, so Y/n decided to choose ..."

"Purple." Was Y/n's answer.

"Yes, a nice, deep purple.... Truly grand , don't you think?" Opal said.

A red light shined down on Toxtricity, increasing his defence and special defence.

"Sludge bomb!"

"Psychic!"

Toxtricity threw a ball of poison at Jubilee Pokemon, before he was sent flying back by a wave of psychic energy.

The sludge bomb hit it's mark at the same time as Toxtricity hit the ground. kicking up two clouds of dust. 

When they died down, it showed both Pokemon down and out.

Both recalled their Pokemon. Y/n sent out Drapion while Opal sent out a Alcremie.

 "Well i can see you're the Alolan champion for a reason young man." Opal said. "But now the true battle begins now, Alcremie it's time to Gigantamax."

"Y/n and Drapion got ready, knowing one mistaking can cost them the battle.

Opal recalled Alcremie  before charging the Pokeball with energy causing it to grow into a beach ball sized premier ball, she then threw it behind her, letting out a Gigantamaxed Alcremie.

Y/n decided to follow her example and Dyanamax as well, he recalled Drapion before charging the net ball with energy, causing it to grow into a beach ball sized premier ball, he then threw it behind him letting out a Dyanamaxed Drapion.

"Final question, How old am i? Opal asked. "16 or 88?"

Y/n sweatdropped at the question, while the answer was obvious Y/n knew that age can be a very touchy subject for the opposite gender.

Deciding to bite the bullet , he lied though his teeth,"16" was his answer. 

"Ha! I like your answer!" Opal said as Drapion's attack and special attack rose.

"Max ooze!"

"G Max Finale!"

The two G moves clashed, the explosion shook the stadium . When the massive dust cloud died down, it showed Alcremie back to normal size and knocked out.

Drapion returned to normal size panting, the battle was harder then it looks. 

"Great job Drapion, you were amazing." Y/n said while petting the ogre scorpion Pokemon.

"Dra!" Drapion let out a short but proud cry.

Y/n and Opal shook hands before the latter gave the former the fairy badge, which Y/n then attached to the ring. 

A few minutes later

The three guardians were having a walk as they wait for Y/n's Pokemon to heal, they then saw Bede just walking around. 

When he saw them, he blamed Y/n for getting him pulled out of the gym challenge.

Opal, who was have having a walk nearby, saw Bede. He got her attention with his choice of colors. She then rushed to him faster then someone her age should and started to examine him, much to his and the guardians surprise.

She then offered him to be her successor as the fairy type gym leader, he accepted, but Y/n can't help but think Bede may have bitten of more then he can chew.

F/n's Alakazam appeared before them, Y/n read the letter that came with him. 

"Dear Y/n, S/n had taken the island challenge while you were away, while she has no interest of challenging you  or Hop for the champion title , she at least wants to gather all 18 main type Z crystals. So we hope you can help her with that since you managed to . Love  mom and dad.  

P/s:" She's managed to gather all the one you get from the trails."

Y/n agreed to help his twin sister, Iseult and Igraine agreed to wait. Alakazam then teleported Y/n back to Alola.

First the siblings with to Po town, Y/n remembered a chest full of Bugnium Z the last time he was there battling team skull.

They went to the shady house and went to Guzma's old room, S/n then picked a Bugnium Z from  the chest.

They then went to Ten carat hill, Y/n lead S/n to the highest part of it , where she got a Flyium Z like he did.

They then went to mount Lanakila, deep in the caves S/n got the Icuim Z.

They then met with Plumeria around Poni, she gave S/n a Poisonium Z after a battle.

Finally they reached Ula ula island, they travel to the northeast part of Haina desert to get the psychium Z.

With that S/n has obtained all 18 Z crystals, seeing it was getting late, the siblings shared a hug before Y/n went back to Galar.
