The day for Dawn's contest has come,and she was understandably nervous. When she showed her outfit for the contest, she realized she was missing a piece of it. A choker.

As she panicked, a Glameow walked over with the missing choker hanging from it's tail.

"Glameow, the Catty Pokemon. When angry, it flashes its claws, but it also can purr quite affectionately." Ash's Pokedex beeped.

Soon her trainer appeared, who introduced herself as Zoey. She explained that Dawn had left it at the dressing room, and she knew it was Dawn's as she's the only one that wore an outfit that matches it . 

Dawn then went to get some last minute practice, Ash 's Aipom decided to come out of her Pokeball and perform some tricks herself. Zoey convinced Ash to join the contest, which the two agreed.

Y/n then got a call from his Xtransceiver, he picked up to see B/n calling him.

"Hey B/n, what's up?" Y/n asked his brother.

"Hey bro, we have a visitor from the guardian school at the ranger union . " B/n said .

"Oh? Who is it?" Y/n asked, curious if he knew the visitor.

"It's your teacher, Palutena." B/n said.

This caused Y/n raise an eyebrow, wondering what his teacher wants with the Pokemon rangers.

Don't get him wrong, he has nothing but respect for the master guardian. But the last time they sparred, he had all but gotten his rear handed to him. She had not gone easy on him, he winced at the memory, he still felt phantom pains from it.

The other reason is his teacher can be quite the teaser, she even playful teased him with his fellow apprentices about somethings in the past . Something Y/n would rather not remember.

"She said that she was looking for you." B/n said. " I told her and she's on the way to Jubilife city, and asked Iseult to be there to."

"Got it." Y/n nodded before informing the others of the call. While disappointed the guardians will miss the contest, Dawn can tell this is important.

They waited for their teacher at the tv station, Y/n decided to try his luck with the lottery, and he surprisingly hit the jackpot, the first place prize? A Master ball.

"Your luck never seizes to amaze me Y/n." Iseult said. Looking at the Master ball in Y/n's hands.

"Yeah, i wonder if i'll ever have the chance to use it. " Y/n said while looking at the Master ball in his hand.

"Knowing your luck Y/n, something tells me that you will one day." A voice said from the entrance said with a chuckle.

They turned to the entrance to see a green haired women in her early twenties, she had a Aegislash and Gallade by her side.

"Master Palutena." Y/n and Iseult said in union.

"Good to see you both again, do you both mind coming with me?" Palutena said causing them to raise an eyebrow. "It's important, trust me."

Two hours later

Palutena had taken them to a place called the Orre region, a region with no wild Pokemon and  has only a few starting to pop up in specific locations, known as Pokestops. Trainers use Pokemon imported from regions, mainly Johto and Hoenn. And most battles are fought as double battles. There is no form of a Pokemon League in Orre, but rather, a variety of facilities which offer consecutive battles.

Orre was plagued by several crime syndicates, such as Team Snagem and Cipher. Both criminal organizations allied themselves as part of their plan to rule the world through Shadow Pokemon.

 Shadow Pokemon are created through an undisclosed process that removes the Pokemon's emotions, turning it into a soulless fighting machine.

This horrified Y/n and Iseult, wondering who can be this heartless. But she calmed them down by saying the two teams that made them is disbanded and the machines use to create the shadow Pokemon are destroyed. But some shadow Pokemon is still on the lose, and it's there job to find and snag them.

"This snag machine will turn any Pokeball in to a snag ball." Palutena explained to Y/n who was done attaching the device to his right arm. "They're able to capture Pokemon belonging to trainers, but other then that their the same as normal Pokeballs."

The guardians then sensed four corrupted auras nearby, they then was confronted by two former grunts that plan to bring the teams back.

"Salamence/ Nidoqueen! Crush them!" The former grunts called out , and the guardian sensed a dark aura from them.

"Lucario/ Metagross! Battle time!" The younger guardians called out.

"Hyper beam!" The grunts called out.

"Iseult, if you will?" Y/n asked with a smirk.

"Gladly, Metagross! Psychic!" She smirked back before calling out.

Metagross's eye glowed, to the grunts surprise the hyper beams were held in place.

"These doesn't belong to us, we should return them to their proper owners don't you think?" Y/n said smirking.

"Agreed, Metagross you heard Y/n." Iseult agreed.  

Metagross sent the Hyper beams back at the shadow Pokemon, the grunts were too stunned to react.

Y/n then charged up a Ultra and Moon ball, before giving the latter to his partner. They then threw them at the shadow Pokemon. Salamence for Y/n and Nidoqueen for Iseult.

Both Pokeballs managed to suck in the shadow Pokemon. 1...2...3 and with that Salamence and Nidoqueen was caught. 

The Pokeballs that once held the two shadow Pokemon exploded, then grunts then sent out a Tyranitar and Nidoking.

Before the grunts could call out an order, the shadow Pokemon attacked their trainers. This surprised the younger guardians, but they quickly shook it off.

"Aura sphere barrage!" Y/n called out.

Lucario created a large aura sphere, he then tossed it the two shadow Pokemon, it then broke into a large amount of normal sized aura spheres that rained down on the two shadow Pokemon, kicking up a large cloud of dust.

When it died down, the two were greatly weaken. Y/n the charged another Ultra and Moon balls, giving the latter to Iseult, both tossed them to the downed shadow Pokemon. Tyranitar for Y/n and Nidoking for Iseult.

1...2..3 and with that Tyranitar and Nidoking was caught.

The Pokeballs that once held the shadow Pokemon exploded, this caused the grunts to panic as they only had two shadow Pokemon each.

Before they could escape, Palutena trapped them in a aura cage, they tried to break out of it, but the younger guardians mere knocked them out with a marble sized aura sphere to the head.

One hour later

After handing the grunts to the police, the guardians took the shadow Pokemon to be purifyed. Luckly the grunts were unknowingly opening the door to their hearts, which is why they could use a normal move like hyper beam.

After the purification was complete, they were allow to keep them. 

After saying their goodbyes, Y/n and Iseult returned to Jubilife. And after meeting with their friends, they learned that Zoey had won the contest but Dawn is more fired up to win the next one.

The guardians then told them what happened, and they were glad that the former shadow Pokemon is back to normal and there no way of make more.

Done and done, next time our heroes will be helping out with some flying type  Pokemon and Y/n's trail begin.
