The Missing Link: Mirio × Soul Mate Male reader (A03 request #5) part 5 fin

You started working on your ship, and with Mirio's help and some other people who made suits for a living, you managed to finish your spacecraft. You still needed to build the wormhole, which would take longer than the ship you built, but at least it was there. You were hoping that maybe somehow they had one, but of course, you weren't that lucky.

"Hey, Y/n! Do you want to go out to eat today?" Mirio asked as you smiled.

"Sure, anyone joining us?" You asked as he came in to look at the ship.

"No, just us. You finished it, huh?" He asked.

"Yeah, we did; now we just got to make a wormhole. I was going to add it to the ship, but that's too dangerous and nearly impossible. The calculations alone are crazy," you said as Mirio smiled slightly.

"Well, at least you can stay a little bit longer," he said as he noticed you added things to your spaceship.

"Going to war?" He asked, seeing a large automatic armor-piercing gun and a smaller spacecraft on the bottom.

"No, I was thinking about the shark tooth-looking thing again," you said as he chuckled.

"You worry too much, you know that?" He asked as you smiled.

"Can't help it. I'm used to being picked on; where do you want to go? I'll buy it. They finally gave me a job here to work on suits for them," you said as he looked around your ship.

"You aren't upset, are you? I have to leave soon, are you?" You asked.

"Yeah, but it's okay. I know you have to leave. I just like being friends with you. Maybe you could come and visit sometime," he said as you sighed.

"I wish it were just that easy," you said as you wrapped an arm around him, "come on, let's go get something to eat. I can show off my pen sword and my twin pen knives."

"You made those things?" Mirio asked as you smiled.

"Heck yeah, I did," you smiled as you walked out of the cave you were working out of that wasn't that from the school and went to town with him.

"I know this sounds weird, but do you have any strange markings on your hands? Here, we get them because here we have soul mates," he said as you looked at him oddly.

"I am just hearing about this now because?" You asked.

"I didn't want you to feel the need to stay. I just wanted to see if you had one. You are from a different planet, so it might not be on you now that I think about it," Mirio said as you looked at his hands.

"You don't have one," you said as he smiled slightly.

"I do. I just have been covering it up with makeup because I didn't want you to ask questions about it, honestly," Mirio said.

"Is this a joke or something? Did you figure out that I'm gay?" You asked.

"It's not a joke, and I had no idea you were gay," he said as he rubbed the makeup up, revealing a fox print with a small rose in the most significant part of the fox print.

"That's cool; I can't believe I told you I was gay. I'm sorry; I didn't want to make things weird. It's why I didn't have a lot of friends at work because they were afraid to be hit on," you explained as he looked at you, shocked.

"Seriously?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's not like here. It's 2007, and it's 2024 here; being gay isn't acceptable yet on my planet," you explained.

"That's crazy. That is a huge difference, so technically speaking, I'm with a very odd man right now," he laughed as you chuckled.

"I guess so. I would be pushing forty right now. Thirty-five years old is how old I would be if I aged when I time traveled," you laughed.

"You would be so old!" He said as you both went to grab something to eat.

You both went to a restaurant and started laughing and talking more. But as you both were eating, to your shock, things started floating in mid-air. The ground started shaking, and you stopped eating.

"Wormhole activity?" You asked as you looked out the window, and to your horror, a wormhole opened up.

"Mirio, call everyone! A wormhole opened up!  is bad. I thought we had more time before stupid people on my planet opened it up here again!" You said as you went outside and took out your pen sword.

Marilo went after you and stood where you stood as people ran away in terror. You heard a roar that shook the whole ground. You froze, seeing two massive human-looking hands with nails as long as an entire grown person grab each side of the portal, and small bat-like creatures with spider legs and scorpion rails flew out of the portal, making you freeze in terror as the mother head came out of the portal. She looked like she had a T-Rex head and had twelve eyes on each side of her head. She had shark-like teeth and looked like she was decomposing even though she was very much alive. She screamed, and more of her young, who were in different stages of growth, came flying out of the portal. Worst of all, she was missing a single tooth in the apparent front, making you regret all your life choices that led up to this very moment.

"Holly fucking shit! That has to be the thing that bit my ship!" You yelled as you cut one of her smaller babies in half.

They started coming out in droves, making you grab Mirio and run away.

"Y/n go. I'll buy you some time to figure out how to close that wormhole!" Mirio yelled.

"What? You can't fight these things by yourself; there are too many of them!" You yelled.

"Yes, you can; you are brilliant, Y/n. I know you can figure it out," Mirio smiled as he gave you a thumbs up and started fighting the monsters.

"Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!" You yelled as heroes were coming out of the woodwork, trying to stop these things from hurting people.

You went to an empty school where, on the ground, desks were turned over. Windows were broken, and bags were lying on the ground.

"What the hell did I do?! Come on, think of something!" You said as you went to where they made suits and saw it was empty.

You started gathering things and then realized there was nothing you could have done. You did some quick calculations and realized due to the rotation of the earth; the wormhole shifted into the middle of the city.

You needed something big to close the wormhole, like an explosion. You looked down at all the gear you had made and then started taking off your clothes to put ìt on. You had to do something; anything was better than nothing. You put on the invisible suit prototype you made and some weapons. You gathered your pen swords and knives, electric gloves, your slime ball that kicked you out of the room for several hours, explosives, your automatic crossbow, and several other random things. You removed the bandages around your hands to put the gloves on when you noticed a mark on your hand. Due to your hands being cut up all the time from working on your aircraft and from training with Mirio, you kept them on. To your shock, you had the same mark Mirio had on his hand.

He was telling you about the stupid marks because he liked you. He didn't even know you were gay; he didn't care if you were gay or not; he loved you. He always helped you and gave you ideas on how to make your things better or even to work. He stayed up countless nights with you so you could work on your spaceship. That was it; you needed to blow up your spacecraft.

It was a massive hydergine bomb capable of taking out the city. You ensured there was no way for it to blow up, but there was a weak spot you could damage enough to make it go off. You just need the suitable explosives. After grabbing a duffle bag full of weapons and other things, you went to your ship and put some of your little gadgets on you as you prepared for takeoff.

Richard sighed, looking at the now-empty research lab. Tomorrow was the last day he was going to be allowed to be in here due to the failed experiment you made. Richard got out the Xbox he got to teach you how to be a kid and plugged it into one of the stations. It made the large flat-screen TV turn on, and he started playing a Mario game. Suddenly, the screen went black. He stood up as soon as the screen turned to static. He immediately got up and went to one of the other stations and tuned into the signal the TV was getting.

"Richard!" You yelled, seeing the lights on your speaker, and the camera started turning on.

"What the fucking hell, kid! Do you understand how long you have been gone?" He yelled as you smiled.

"I need your help; you remember you told me one day I would save the world? Well, I need your help. In the wormhole, there was a monster of some sort, and I mean bigger than anything on Earth," you explained.

"You idiot! I told you and told you not to go through the wormhole and disturb the balance of nature!" He yelled.

"I know, I know! Look, you want to be a pilot again or not?!" You asked.

"How am I supposed to fly your ship?" He asked.

"Not my ship! I made you a special spacecraft that connects to your Xbox; I was going to let you fly it around when I got back and shoot things, but it looks like I need it now," you said as you took off and started backing out of the cave.

"You made me a ship that connects to the Xbox! Fuck yeah, I'm in! I'll show those alien bitches who the king of the castle is, USA! USA! USA!" He chanted.

"Remember, you are in Japan on a work visa!" You said.

"Not anymore. I am a certified resident now, kid!" He said as you started flying your ship.

"Put your headset in from one of the controls. You will be able to talk to people and play your music too," you said as he plugged his headset and then his iPod and started playing Free Bird as loud as the volume would let him.

"Disengaging Baby bird!" You said as Richard's mouth dropped.

"This is better than any video game! Let's beat some bitches!" He yelled as he saw the controls pop up on his screen and he broke off and started flying beside you.

You started shooting down aliens and flying around to get them to come to you, but they were all going to Richard since he was blasting his music as loud as possible.

"Do what you must, kid. I'll catch the stragglers!" He said as everyone on the ground looked at you like you were crazy.

"What is he doing he's going to get himself killed!" Bakugo yelled as Richard started shooting down the flying creatures and laughing like a lunatic as they blew up after getting hit.

"Here's my plan. I need to blow up my ship; when I do, we will lose our connection. But don't worry, I have a copy of your Xbox drive I plugged into the bird you're flying so I can find you again as long as you keep that Xbox on and running," you explained.

"Got it, captain. I will clear the area and make sure that big cow stays stuck in that wormhole!" He said as you were shooting aliens down and avoiding falling buildings while the mother of all monsters was trying to escape the wormhole.

"Listen up, you superhuman animals! My son has a plan, and to avoid any injuries, I suggest you all take cover. As a retired USA Air Force Vet, I'll do my best to cover you before I run out of bullets and lose connection. Stay away from Big Mama over there; she's the target! USA Retired Airforce General out!" Richard said as he went straight to the portal and started shooting her babies that were coming out while everyone else was handling the ones below.

"Come on, you maggots!!! You think I'm scared of you! You are all going to hell!" He yelled as you were going full speed his way.

"Richard, I need to kill the mother, or she will come back. Keep her mouth open. I'm going to crash the ship into her!" You said as Richard smiled.

"Got it! When you get within one hundred feet, bail!" He said.

"Got it; hopefully, those fencing lessons paid off, Dad!"'you said as he smiled.

"Get boy! I'm proud of you! You better call me!" He said as you unbuckled the seat belt and planted some bombs on the floor while Richard made the ship get vertical into the monster's mouth and shut her up.

You quickly opened the door and bailed while your ship crashed into the monster, making her go backward and blowing her up. The wormhole closed. But the babies were still very active. You pulled the parashot string and hit the ground harder than you wanted to, but then you took out your pen sword backup you made and started cutting down babies like there was no tomorrow. You threw your sword to save a hero from a different school. His quirk made an earthquake, but now he was stuck, probably from using his quirk. You turned your suit invisible, making only your gloves and shoes visible. You removed your pen knives and quickly went over to him and covered him, then threw the blades to protect Mirio.

"Sorry in advance," you say as you pick him up and sling him over your shoulder.

You take off running through the battlefield and put him in a nearby building, passing him off, but he will live. You removed your crossbow and started shooting them down as fast as possible. You almost hit Bakugo, but he grabbed your arrow from the monster and started stabbing another one.

"Damn, nerd almost killed me!" Bakugo yelled as you ran out of arrows, so now you had to rely on nothing but explosives, your electric gloves, and the webs you made.

You quickly started pulling people out of the way of falling buildings and pulling people to you who couldn't get a monster off of them and started shocking them off. A guy started falling from the sky, and you took a deep breath.

"Okay, antigravity boots work!" You said as you started running as fast as you could, then hit the button on the button on the shoes and started running up the building.

You made yourself visible and caught the guy barely from falling to his death.

"Nice catch," Hawks said as you smiled.

"Thanks, I never tested these boots before," you said as you started to feel them slipping, making you both look at each other.

"Shit!" You yelled as you fell off the building, but Tamaki caught both of you.

"If Mirio is looking for you! Stay out of the battlefield.. please,' he said as he put you both down, and you sighed.

"You aren't a hero?" Hawks asked.

"No, I'm just a lab nerd. Anyway, I'm going to save my future boyfriend, I moved one guy into that empty diner over there. If you can make it go there," you said as you got out some explosives and started throwing them at the large groups of monsters. You continued to save people by using the webs you made to pull them out of the way and snare some monsters. You didn't see Mirio at all in the fight, but what you did see was Bakugo about to be crushed. You quickly ran to him and got out of that stupid jelly thing you made that kicked you out of the lab. You quickly crushed its container in your hand and covered Bakugo with your body as the building fell on him.

"Y/n!" Mirio yelled as all the monsters lay down on the ground dead.

"Where's Bakugo?! Bakugo!" Kirishima yelled, making Izuku worried.

"Y/n!" Mirio yelled as he saw he heard a building rumbling behind him.

He turned around, and a web was shot at him, making him grab it. The green blood was expanding fast, and finally, it expanded enough that he could see both you and Bakugo.

"Y/n!" Mirio yelled as everyone looked at you, shocked you had a very angry Bakugo under one of your arms Mirio pulled you both out.

"I'm going to kill you!"Bakugo yelled as you looked at him.

"At least I didn't kiss you. I just covered you!" You yelled back then smiled.

"Y/n what you did was so dangerous!" Mirio yelled as you took off the face mask and went over to him and kissed him.

"I had to do something. I was a freaking idiot; I didn't catch up that you were flirting with me and wanting to be more than friends. Wait, am I reading it wrong?" You asked as he kissed you back, making people shocked.

Your suit was ruined, and you had cuts and bruises all over you, but you helped save the day, at least.

Six months later.

Richard was playing a Mario game on his Xbox in his home out in the middle of the woods when suddenly the screen went blank. He sighed and went to go fix it but then a picture of you and Mirio came up on his screen.

"Will you be my best man?" He read out loud, grabbed the controller, and hit the x as it said to if he wanted to.

"Weirdo," he said as the screen went blank again, and his game came up.

He started playing his game again when he felt the ground shake. Things started floating up, making him grab his shotgun and go outside to see a wormhole pop up.

"Ah, hell no! This is America! I mean Japan, I don't know where the fuck I am. I had too much beer!" He growled as he saw a spaceship come and land peacefully on the ground, and you and Mirio came out.

"So this is your planet. This is awesome. This is the first and last time I visited this planet," Mirio smiled as Richard sighed.

"You moron don't you know what happened last time?" Richard yelled as he walked over to you in his boxers and a tank top.

"Yeah, I know, but it didn't happen this time. Look, I want you to come to my new planet. I'm getting married in like five years, but I can't just leave you here. You are my dad," you said as he crossed his arms.

"You know that is incredibly irresponsible of you making another one of these," he said.

"Yeah, but I'm dismantling everything and burning my work so no one can come here. Please, I only have enough juice to go back, and that's it," you explain.

"Fine, I don't like it here anyway. Plus, your parents would never forgive me," he sighed.

"Yes!" You said as he went to his house and started packing his things.

He had only a suitcase and a gun with him and your parents ashes in a box he had stored for you.

"You're lucky I still have your parents' ashes. I was going to send them off down the river tomorrow," he said.

"Thanks, Richard. Oh, um Richard, this is my boyfriend, I mean, fiancée Mirio," you said.

"I can see why he likes you. You must eat a lot of beef, kid. I respect that. I must warn you I am heavily intoxicated, so if I throw up or start yelling at you when I'm solber, I'm sorry in advance. I had twelve beers," he said.

"That's why it wasn't hard to convince him to come with us. Should we wait, then?" Mirio asked as you took his suitcase and looked in it.

"Nope, he has everything that's important to him, and he even put on some fresh clothes. He may be drunk, but he will be just fine," you said as you took him on to your ship.

"Can we have a quick one on this planet?" Mirio asked, making you shocked.

"Why?!" You asked.

"No one else can say they did it on another planet!" He said as you sighed.

"Fine, but it can't be long. We have an hour before I have recalibrated the device," you said.

"I only need five minutes!" He said as he picked you up and carried you off the ship while Richard sat on the ship, confused.

"Boys. I will never understand them," he muttered.
