The Healer: Rock Lee part 4
You ate breakfast with all your new friends and even nursed an injured crow you randomly found on your way home. It was sitting in a shoe box next to you while you were eating with your friends. After a couple of days and around-the-clock care, you released the crow with Lee back out into the world. You all went swimming from time to time and went fishing. Lee went on missions, and you always check on him and his team once they get back, likewise for Naruto.
You were slowly growing on Neji and Sasuke, but it was very much a work in progress that you weren't aware of because you were being kind to them. Right now, you were thigh-high in water with fishing while Kakashi was watching you guys.
"How can you catch them like that?! You make it so easy!" Naruto said as you caught one again in your bare hand and put it in a bucket on the shore.
"Oh, um, I just reach in and get it. I got like five fish if you guys want to take a break," you said as they looked at you confused.
"I don't even have one!" Sakura yelled.
"Speed is key!" You said as you grabbed another one without even looking at it.
"Hi, fishy! We have enough. Thank you, though," you said as you set it free.
"You have entered a whole new level of weirdness," Sasuke said as you smiled.
"It was cute. I can't help it. We should get out the current is getting stronger," you said.
"No way am I leaving until I get me the biggest fish in this river!" Naruto said.
"She already got five fish. We don't need more than that. They are also pretty big," Sasuke said as he had a fish and was getting out since he was twice the size of three of your fish.
"I need a break," Sakura said as she got out of the water as well as Sasuke.
"You quiters! I will catch the biggest fish you will see!" Naruto said as he was frantically trying to catch a fish.
"Naruto patience is key," you said as he slipped into the river, making you panic as the current started taking him away.
"Naruto, you idiot!" Sakura yelled as you did some hand signs.
"Water style, water bending jutsu," you said as Naruto fell off the cliff but was caught by the water.
Kakashi looked up from his book and froze in shock seeing the river wasn't moving as it should. The water stopped going down the waterfall, and the water that was thigh high was getting lower and lower as you were bringing Naruto back while you were holding the rest of the river back.
"Normally, I'm not in the water doing this, so I'm going to go over the waterfall. It's fine, though. It's not that far of a drop," you said as you were dangling Naruto upside down on land.
The water started pushing you, making you slide.
"Release," you said as Naruto dropped to the ground as the water plowed you down.
You were going fast down the river and the mercy at its waves. You took a deep breath and waited until you felt like you were falling to do some jutsu, but someone caught you.
"Got any fish for me?" Lee asked as you smiled and opened your eyes.
"Hi, Lee! I wasn't expecting you for two or three days," you said as he smiled.
"It was an easy mission, Tenten did most of the leg work," he said as he bounced from tree to tree and brought you to the others.
"Why did you drop me on my head?! That hurt!" Naruto growled.
"Be lucky she was able to control it like she did. Ninjitsu like that is extremely difficult to do, let alone on a moving water source," Kakashi said as you smiled.
"Not it takes practice, that's all," you said with an awkward smile.
Over the last two months, you have impressed Kakashi a lot with your understanding of Manu styles and how versatile you were. He was considering asking your parents for you to become a ninja, and of course, you would have to go through tests like everyone else, but your skill set at your young age was amazing.
You were like Lee and Naruto with their endless training, and you had their fighting spirit. But you also had a kind and humble heart. You never called anyone names, even if they called you names first, and instead of being impatient with them for not being able to do what you could do, you were patient and showed them several times over how to do what you could do. When they got angry or upset, you sat with them and tried to help them the best you could.
You had been studying since you did ninjitsu by accident at the age of two when you saw one of your maids do it. Some were difficult for you to learn, and some were not so much, but you practiced so you wouldn't hurt yourself or others around you.
You were helping Lee get stronger, and you two were becoming very close friends, something you never really had before. It was nice since he didn't care about your family's name or riches. He taught you how to make some spicy food, which you were still struggling to get used to.
"Fish?" Lee asked as you smiled.
"Yeah, want some? There are six, so one for each of us should be fine," you smiled as your new crow friend flew on your shoulder.
"Hi, Ash!" You said as you petted him.
"Ash, huh?" Kakashi asked.
"Yeah, he just won't leave, and I don't know why, so I gave him a name. He can deliver messages to people if I wanted, I guess, but I'm just happy he's okay. He hit that sign pretty hard. Didn't you, little buddy? Want some seeds?" You asked as you put some on the ground for him even though your clothes were soaked.
"Are you wanting to do some training tonight?" Lee asked.
"I don't know, I really shouldn't have held that river back as long as I did," you said as he looked at you worried.
"Tired?" He asked.
"A little, but I will get over it so we can train tonight," you said.
"We can miss a day we have been doing a lot of night training. It might be getting too hard on your body," Lee said.
"Says the man that pushes himself every day," you said.
"You train harder than I do," he said as you heard rustling. Guys, get down!" You said as you punched a massive snake away from Lee.
"Ahhh! That thing is bus size!!" Lee yelled as you quickly started to do some unconventional Genjutsu.
"Snake charmer Genjutsu!" You said that you made several copies with various heat signatures.
The snake hissed and showed off its fangs to you, but you weren't impressed.
"You want to dance, then let's dance. NSYNC style," you said as you started singing Bye Bye Bye instead of beating up the snake.
"Just beat it up!" Naruto yelled.
"It's hungry, that's all. She's buying time so she can feed it, and it will be on its way," one of your clones said.
"Why are you being nice to a snake?!" Sakura asked.
"I used to have a bet snake named Charlie he was a small boy when I found him. Then he may have gotten this big," you said as one of your clones was fishing and grabbing up fish.
The snake was visibly confused and didn't know which one to attack since they were all dancing in perfect sync, and it was focusing on you, but with all the extra heat signatures dancing around you, it didn't know which one to eat and due to the vibrations it was sensing a group of you.
You stopped dancing once the song was over, breaking it from your unconventional snake charming, and quickly handed over twenty fish you caught.
"There is this better?" You asked as it ate them all hole in a single bite.
"Oh, poor baby was so hungry," you said.
"Baby?! That isn't a baby!" Naruto yelled as he was in Sasuke's arms.
"Get off of me!" He said as he pushed Naruto off.
The snake went on its way, and everyone looked at you like you just died.
"I was testing a theory. It's used to being fed, so that means it was recently released. Someone released giant snakes here, which isn't good. worst of all, they are used to humans. So that means they are probably going to head to the village soon," you said.
"What?!" Lee asked.
"It smells people they go to where the food is," you said.
"We need to find the culprit and make him or her take the snakes out of the woods," Lee said.
"They are probably in the village. The snakes are just going to be harmless to us until they come to the village," you said as you started cooking the fish.
After the fish, you went back home with Rock Lee. You were staying with him for a couple of days, then you were going to be staying with whoever next. You ended up practicing with Rock Lee until you both were too tired to practice anymore. You both lay on the grass next to each other as you both were breathing hard.
"I'm glad we got some practice in," you said as he nodded.
"Me too! I will sleep well tonight and train some more tomorrow!" He said.
"Me too; the stars are pretty out tonight," you said as he looked up at the stars.
"So that one is the big dipper, and that one just below it is the little dipper," you said as you traced the outline of the consolations.
"Oh, I see them now," he said with a smile.
"You know Lee, I hope I can come back here," you said as he smiled.
"So do I you have become a really good friend," he said as you smiled.
"I don't know if the next time you see me, I'll be married or not. My parents have been trying to marry me off because I don't have any interest in the family business, and I do Ninjitsu. They keep telling me that no guy would be a scared-up wife, but it doesn't bother me because it does bother me. My forbidden jutsu can kill me any time I use it, and it saved my brother's life, so I practice hard so I can take it," you explained.
"Take what?" He asked.
"The pain of using it. You, um, my forbidden jutsu is I can fully heal someone as long as they aren't dead. No matter how bad, I can fix anything, but if you, let's say, you break your legs, get stabbed, or have a life-threatening illness, I'll feel all that pain but three hundred times worse throughout my body, not just in a specific part of my body but everywhere. Depending on the severity of it, the more or less I feel," you said as he looked at you shocked.
"What?! No wonder you are being targeted. With that power, even the worst enemies can be healed and ready for battle in an instant," Lee said.
"Yeah, it also costs me all my Chakra at once. I hadn't done it in a while, but the last time I did it, my twin fell off the roof, trying to get my younger sister while I was studying my family's business. I barely saved him, and since then, I want aloud to leave the house or anything like that because they didn't want anyone to know I had that sort of power. But of course, they were telling people, and you get the rest. The reason they want to marry me off so bad is so they can use my powers as leverage," you said.
"You don't have to be a pawn in their game! You can marry whoever you want, and if they try to force you, you can leave. You can marry anyone you want," he said.
"I might not live long enough to find the person I love. If I have to use it, I have to use it. I'm not going to stand back and watch any of you die," you said.
"Y/n, you don't have to use that jutsu ever! I know it sucks watching people die, but the thing is, people die. Sometimes, you can't fix that or save everyone. I know why you do it, but you have a life, too. It sounds selfish, and I would do anything to make sure none of my friends suffer and die, but you aren't a ninja. You don't have to die like one," he said.
"I know, but as you said, you would do anything to make sure your friends wouldn't die or suffer, and I would do the same," you said as you looked at him.
"Promise me no matter what. You won't use your Jutsu on us," he said.
"I can't promise you that. I may be your mission, but people fail sometimes. Especially when the target values something more than their own life," you said.
At that very moment, he saw how beautiful you were on the inside you were. You were living each day like it was your last day being alive, and you weren't taking anything for granted. You weren't just pretty but strong and had a strong will. He saw the mud and dirt that was on your face and the sweat from working hard. Your hair wasn't neat anymore and was all over the place.
He fell in love with you and didn't even know he did. This was going to compromise his mission, and he now didn't know if he should be part of your protection detail anymore. He was going to have to talk to Guy Sensei about it, and hopefully, he could be taken off this mission without you being too upset about it.
