The Girl next door: Mezou Shoji × Reader part 8

It had been an exciting week since you turned into a monster to save people's lives. No one died at the fair, and the fact your family put their lives at risk to save people who hated them spoke volumes. Your family weren't heroes. Your brother was an EMT; Your sister was a gym owner; your mother a hairstylist and a volunteer firefighter; and your dad was a baker and a bodybuilder. Jake taught college-level math to high-school students, and Nova was a mechanic, only you became a hero not because you wanted to but because you needed to learn how to control your red side.

The wars seemed to go silent after that; the protests and vandalism slowed down to almost nothing. You got burned due to being at the heart of the explosion, but thanks to your red side, they weren't that bad at all. You had put everything back in your room overnight and were waiting to tell Mezo you were back. You missed him the most and maybe was developing a crush on him. You weren't sure, though. You just really liked him as a person. Samuel was now helping your school to figure out what happened during the sports festival. He wasn't supposed to fight you at all, yet it was supposed to be a kid from a completely different school. You and Samuel were now friends to many people's disapproval, but Samuel saved you and Mezo. He didn't have to do it; he could have let you die, but he didn't.

"Mezou!" You yelled as you ran down the hallway. He turned around and saw you disappear, and then you were right there before him.

He caught you, and your other friends looked shocked seeing you back.

"I missed you so much!" You said as you nearly strangled him with a hug.

"I missed you too," he said as he hugged you back.

He missed you more than you could even imagine. The guilt of you being gone and almost losing you in that accident was a lot. He always tried to think with a clear head, but you drove him crazy.

"What about the rest of us, you ungrateful idiot?!" Bakugo asked as you disappeared and hugged him from behind.

"Don't touch me, you freak!" He screamed as you laughed.

"Your clothes are touching my clothes, so you are touching me, you bonehead!" You smiled as Bakugo began raging in your arms and trying to get away from you.

Bakugo was not one for hugs, but he didn't mind yours. He just couldn't show that he missed them. You hugged your friends, and everything seemed to go back to normal, more or less. You practiced turning red, but you couldn't do it on command like you did at the fair for some reason. You also started gaining weight because your red side was done flowing for now. It was weird being able to grow out of your clothes for once.

But things started getting strange. You started hearing random scratching in the walls and whispering, making you sleep-deprived. Your clothes began to go missing randomly, and you had no idea where they were going. This happened for a month, but you didn't say anything, not because you didn't want to but because you were probably tired, and it only happened at night. At one point, all of your small belongings were stacked on your bed, which you didn't do.

You were getting out of the shower after a long day of school. Only you were in there, and you placed your clothes on top of one of the sinks next to a mirror. You only did this when you were alone because you were now checking to see if your skin was turning blue in some places. You didn't know if you lost your ability to turn red, and if you did, it was worth it saving all those people.

The mirror was steamy, so you cleared it off, but once you cleared it and looked back into it, a blood-covered, scary face was in the mirror. You screamed bloody murder, and it screamed, and you felt something grab your leg, making you disappear. Your clothes got scattered on the bathroom floor as you teleported out and started running away.

Everyone heard you scream, but the first one to get to you was Mezo, who stopped you from running. You were so scared you couldn't breathe or hardly speak.

"What happened?" Mezou asked as he saw your arm was turning red, so he rubbed your arms.

He took off his shirt and put it on you to cover you up since you were only in a towel.

"What the fuck is going on?" Bakugo growled, annoyed.

"You need to breathe," Kirishima said as the girls ran to you.

"I thought I was just sleep-deprived. I haven't been sleeping well for a month. My clothes and other stuff have been missing and turning up in weird places or stacked on my bed. I have been hearing voices and scratching in my room, and now there was something in the mirror, and something grabbed me," you cried

"Watch her," Mezo said, annoyed.

He wasn't mad at you, but mad someone was messing with you, and he knew it wasn't Samuel doing it because he was at his school. Plus, now he cared about you enough to help you figure out what happened that day you turned red the first time.

He went into the bathroom and saw your clothes scattered on the floor, so he picked them up and then went to the mirror you stood at. Suddenly, a face appeared in it, and he screamed, making him punch the mirror harder than he meant to. He felt something grab his leg, and he grabbed it and ripped it out from one of the back tiles under the sink. He wasn't going to lie; that scared him, too.

He ripped the mirror off the wall a d grabbed the arm, and came out of the bathroom with it.

"Who knew you were showering tonight?" Mezou said as you looked at him, confused.

"No one knew; I was just taking it to take it. I haven't been sleeping well, so I thought it would help me sleep," you said softly.

"What's that?" Kirishima asked.

"It's one of those scare mirrors you use at a fair. The arm took more planning; it's sound activated," he said as he put the stuff he got from the bathroom on the table.

"Found this in her room," Kyoka said as she dropped the radio on the table as well.

"It was in her vent; someone had been messing with her. Have any enemies at your old school?" She asked.

"Everyone but Samuel now," you said as you pulled up some of the recordings Samuel sent you he had taken.

Teachers, students, a lot of them still hated you.

"He just wanted to ensure I knew so I wouldn't go near them. The principal even has it out for me," you said softly.

"Just fucking great," Bakugo said.

"That's too many suspects; wait, those mirrors are motion-activated. So someone knew you were going to be in there and put it in while you were showering," Izuku said.

"Someone was in there with her?!" Momo asked.

"It could just be a harmless prank Hanta said.

"It's not harmless, especially because her red side has the possibility of killing people. It only appears when she is feeling extreme emotions. The only reason she could control it at the fair was because she wasn't angry; she was scared for other people. Plus, she couldn't hold that form for long. Seven minutes at the most before she turned back to normal," Mezou said.

"I haven't been able to use it since," you said.

"You weren't scared enough at the fair. Someone wants you to turn red and possibly kill someone," Fumikage said.

"Who would do that?" Mina said as Momo grabbed your arm lightly.

"Come on, you are staying in my room until we can figure this out," she said as you went with her.

"We need to let the teachers know tomorrow," Denki said as he yawned.

"Once I get a hold of his guy, he's dead!" Bakugo growled as they all went to bed.

It was three in the morning, and you still couldn't sleep. You were worried you were going to turn red while you were sleeping, which you did a couple of times as a child. You got up and went to Mezo's room primarily because if you threw anyone else through a wall, they might die. You knocked on his door, and at first, there wasn't an answer, and you were just going to stay up the rest of the night, but then the door opened. Mezou had bedhead and looked tired because he had to wake up twice in the middle of the night to figure out what was happening to you.

"Sorry, I... I didn't want to turn red in Momo's room. I was going to wake Bakugo up, but I didn't want him to freak out when I turned red, and he blew me up and caused me to freak out more. I wasn't going to wake him up. I just didn't want you to think I was weird for just wanting to ask you first," you said, trying not to be weird

"You can stay in my bed while I sleep on the floor," he said.

"What? No, I can't do that!" You said, shocked.

"Come on, it's too late for this," he said as your arm turned red, making you cover it.

"Your body is too stressed. You haven't slept well, and you are stressed. Don't worry about us; we are worried about you. Someone did this to make you red; something has stopped you from doing it, so they are trying to induce it with fear and stress. Come on; I'll stay in bed with you until you sleep," Mezou said as he grabbed your arm and pulled you into his room.

He closed the door, making you nervous, not because you were afraid of what he would do to you but what others would think of him.

"Shouldn't we sleep with the door open?" You asked.

"Not when a crazy person is trying to hurt you," Mezou said.

He got into bed, and you lay beside him, trying not to blush awkwardly.

"It's all going to be okay; we always figure it out. Do you know why your red side is-" Mezou paused as he looked at you, and you were dead asleep.

You fell asleep instantly on his bed; you must have been tired of trying to keep yourself from turning red. Mezou had no idea you were this tired and wished you told him sooner before it got this far. He was going to move but noticed you were turning red again. He didn't know if you normally did this or not so he put one of his arms under your neck and pulled you close to him. He wrapped his other arm around you and made one of his tentacles turn into an arm to put the blanket over the both of you.

"I love you," he said softly as he went to sleep next to you.

Momo woke up and noticed you were gone making her panic. She started knocking on all the doors.

"She's gone! She's not in my room anymore!" Momo panicked as she checked almost every place you could have gone.

"She could just have gotten something to eat," Tsuyu said tiredly.

"We got to check the boy's rooms," she said as they started knocking. Some of the guys were already awake and they hadn't seen you.

"Hey, Mezou, are you awake?" Kirishima said as he knocked on the door but there was no answer.

"He should be; he's probably reading or working out," Fumikage said, knowing his friend.

He opened the door to Mezou's room, and both of them were shocked to see Mezou had engulfed you in a hug. One of his legs was even over yours.

"We found her," Fumikage said as Momo went to the doorway and was shocked to see Mezou cuddling you while you were sleeping.

"Awww," Ochako said as Minoru crossed his arms.

"Why can he have a girl in his room, but I can't?" He asked.

"He is stopping her from turning red," Momo pointed out as she took a picture and closed the door.

A couple of hours later, you started waking up. You felt something poking you, and you turned a little to see Mezou. He had you engulfed in a hug but you saw his mask he wore all the time was coming off. You could see some of the scars on his face, and you sighed weakly and fixed his mask so he wouldn't be self-conscious about them. You turned back around and put one of your hands on his tentacles.

He started moving, and you felt something hard poking you, making you realize what it was. Your brother explained to you something about guys and gave you several boxes of condoms. You didn't see why you needed them because you weren't interested in guys but you were interested in Mezou now. Your face turned red as he groaned and rubbed up against you a bit.

He started waking up, and you didn't know he could get even harder than he already was. He yawa bit and looked down at you. He didn't mean to fall asleep next to you. He sure did like having you there, though.

"Morning," you said nearly scaring him off the bed.

"Sorry!" You said as he looked a bit shocked.

"It's okay, we overslept; it's nearly 10:30," he said as you laid in the bed with him.

"We needed it, I guess," you said as you fixed his hair and smiled.

You hugged and cuddled him, making him a bit shy, but he liked it. Suddenly, there was a loud knocking on the door.

"Wake up! Stop being lazy!" Bakugo yelled angrily.

"Guess we have to leave," you said as he was about to say something, but he was lucky he was wearing a mask.

His body was going wild for seemingly no reason. Seeing you get up and wearing an oversized shirt, and by the way, it looked like no shorts. He wanted to say what you were wearing under your shirt. He was trying to hide how needy he was, mainly because he liked you so much but couldn't put it into words. He didn't know if you wanted him, mainly because he had scars that scared people. He saw your shorts a little and wished you weren't wearing them. He tried to clear his head, but then he saw you adjusting your bra a bit. He liked how your hair was and wished he was the one who made it messy, not you sleeping.

"Are you getting up?" You asked as I had to think fast.

"Yeah, I'll be up in a minute," he said as you exited his bedroom.

"See you at breakfast," you said as he nodded.

"See you at breakfast," he said, even though he thought you could have breakfast in his bed.

He needed to get away from you not because you bothered him but because he wanted you, and he would do something stupid or say something dumb. You left the room, and now he was alone; he was usually level-headed, but now he couldn't be. You were doing things to him, and he loved it.
