Present day, you are both twenty years old.

Your freedom was very short-lived. It was only two weeks long when you got recaptured and beaten for as long as you could remember. Your father now threatened to kill Lee. You couldn't run anymore or do anything. You took everything that was thrown at you and worse. You were treated like an animal and forced to even act like one occasionally. Your middle brother was killed after he got rejected by a girl. He killed her for it, and your youngest brother got your father into smuggling. Your mother killed herself, and you wished it was you, but her suffering lasted longer than yours.

Your father married another girl and had boys with her, too, and was doing the same thing to her that he did to your mother. You were in an arranged marriage now with a smuggler's son who liked to beat girls. You would marry him two years from now, but after a business deal, you two would be married in a month. Your soul was crushed to nothing. You had nothing to live for or to fight for. You were nothing but a shell of your former self. You couldn't even remember Lee or his smile or anything about him. All you could remember was getting captured and getting hurt. You stopped fighting after two years of everyday violence and training. You forgot how to cry and scream. You forgot what an option was and that you had a choice. You were just gone. Your eyes were even dead now.

Your future husband Mark was doing a legitimate business in the Leaf village and hiding behind his smuggling business. All you needed was a license that you and he were planning on getting right now. You were dressed modestly to not draw any attention to yourself. Your clothes were dull, which matched your eyes. The day was warm and sunny, with no clouds in sight. The flowers were blooming, but you had no interest in them. You had never felt anymore and hadn't felt anything for a while. You didn't speak unless spoken to, and you didn't have opinions or honest thoughts for five years. Two years before you fought, you did everything to keep who you were, but finally, you snapped.

"Then boom! The guy was down just like that!" Lee said as Naruto laughed.

"Can't believe a drunk guy tried to pick a fight with you," Naruto laughed as Lee smiled.

"I know, but hey, it was worth it, though. Nice day, isn't it?" Lee asked as both passed them.

Neither you nor your future husband said anything as you passed. But then Lee saw you dropped something.

"Miss!" Lee called as you ignored him.

"I don't think she heard you," Naruto said as he approached you and your husband.

"Will you stop harassing my fiance?!" Mark yelled as you didn't say anything, but then you noticed the bandages on his hands.

"Sir, she dropped something," he said as he handed you your handkerchief you never used due to not being able to show any real emotion at all.

"What is wrong with you? Leave her alone!" Mark growled, and you saw he would punch the man you seemed to remember vaguely.

"Don't touch him," you said as you caught your husband's wrist before he could punch Lee.

"What did you just say?!" Mark asked as you let him go.

"He's a strong ninja. It was just a misunderstanding. I was careless; don't take it out on him, please. You are already stressed. There is no reason to add more to it or broken bones," you said as you turned to Lee.

"Thank you," you said as you took it from him, but your face showed no emotion.

"Stay out of this! This is a man's business. Know your place!" Mark said.

"Hey, don't talk to her that way," Lee said as Naruto approached them.

"What's going on?" Naruto asked as Mark was going to fight Lee.

"Your stupid friend here is bothering me and my fiancée," Mark said as you kept looking at Lee.

"I'm not harassing them," Lee said as he returned to Naruto.

"Let's go get some food," Naruto said.

"You will let a woman tell you what you want to do? How pathetic! You are nothing but a coward," Mark said.

"I'm not going to fight you because you call me a coward," he said, annoyed.

"Let it go, Mark," you said as Mark faced you.

"Let it go? I have my dignity, unlike you. You can't even form a proper thought. You also spoke out of turn!" He growled as he was about to hit you.

You were used to it, and it didn't bother you. You enjoyed being hit because that was all you were good for before you could get hit; Lee was there catching his hand.

"Now I'll fight you," Lee said as anger coursed through his body.

"Pick and place and time, kid, because I was going to hit a bug," he said as Lee was burning with rage.

"Guys!" Naruto said as you looked at Lee, confused.

Why did he stop him? It was usually to you for him to hit you. It was customary for him to take anything and everything from you without asking or giving you a reason why.

"Practice gym at five o'clock," he said as he let Mark go.

You two were late to the licensing office, and it was now closed, so you had to stay in a hotel room where you were severely beaten and scolded. You didn't cry or scream at all. Mark even forced you to sleep with him, which you were also too used to. Nothing bothered you anymore. It was a sad fact that nothing bothered you anymore. You were conditioned to be this way, just like your mother was, but it was worse for you because you wanted to fight. Not anymore. Fighting for yourself now never crossed your mind. Fighting strictly because your husband said so was burned into your memory, like how a hot iron burned cattle.

"He was going to hit her. I know he was," Lee said as Naruto sighed.

"You can't prove that he is just an ass, and by the way they act. I'm sure it's arranged. She didn't have a choice, and there is nothing we can do unless he lays hands on her," Naruto said as Lee crossed his arms.

"Something is wrong. She looks familiar to me, and I don't know why. Naruto believed me he was hurting her. The way she looked at me was like there was nothing there," Lee said.

"Lee, there are bad people out there, but we can't do anything about it if she doesn't want anything to happen. If he hits her in public, we can do something. But if.. he's hurting her. We need proof of hard proof facts," he said as Lee sighed.

"You are right; I can ask Tenten to investigate," Lee asked.

"Is Neji busy?" Naruto asked.

"Yeah, he's with a girl now," Lee said as Naruto smiled.

"Finally, I thought that idiot would never meet a girl that would put up with him," he chuckled.

"Naruto, if he is beating her. I can't promise he won't be seriously hurt," Lee said.

"Lee, you can't. The court will decide what to do with him. Sure, you can hurt him. I would, too, but just don't kill him. Scare him," Naruto said.

"I will let the others know what's going on. Maybe they can help her get away," Lee said.

"That's if she wants to. I'm not sure if she can. Arranged marriages are hard to go through and break," Naruto said.

Five came quickly, and your husband and Lee, as well as several other ninjas, were in the area. You were sitting away, and everyone but Kakashi came over to talk to you.

"May I sit with you?" Kakashi asked as you didn't answer or even acknowledge he even existed.

Kakashi sat down next to you while you stayed in your spot, watching Lee and Mark in the ring with Naruto in the center of both of them, talking about something.

"What does your husband do for work?" Kakashi asked as you ignored him again.

Kakashi's hand bandages wrapped around his hand from a previous fight he was in, and once you noticed out of the corner of your eye, you looked at him. You looked at his bandages but noticed how they were wrapped. They weren't like Lee's, so you looked away again.

"My bandages are what she looked at?" Kakashi thought as he looked at Lee. He took his bandages off and wrapped them like his, making you look at him again.

"Do you know Lee?" Kakashi asked as you looked at the bandages and didn't answer him.

As soon as you looked at him once, he realized you were following his hand with your eyes for some reason. He pretended to stretch and got a good look at your face. He froze in shock and horror, realizing it was you from seven years ago who had a mental breakdown in the stadium after Lee got hurt. He never knew your name, but he was there and watched you fight as your life depended on it.

"What happened to you?" Kakashi asked, seeing your soulless eyes.

The way Lee described your interaction with him, he could tell something terrible happened to you. He couldn't pinpoint what, but just by looking at you, he knew you needed help. You were just staring at his bandages like there was a piece of you still there trying to make its way out, but it was stuck by whatever happened to you.

"Begin!" Naruto said as Kakashi took off the bandages, making you look away to watch the fight.

"Thank you for your time," Kakashi said as he walked away from you and went to Naruto quickly.

"Naruto, remember that girl that fought her father during the Chunin exams?" Kakashi asked.

"How can I forget? Her father lost his business here and was threatened to leave or be arrested for abuse. She lost her mind seeing Lee hurt for some reason," Naruto said as Kakashi sighed.

"That girl is the same girl that fought her father in the area. I don't think she got away very long," Kakashi said as Naruto looked at you.

"She fought all those guys at once; she was more than capable back then to get out of that situation," Naruto said.

"She wouldn't acknowledge me, but I noticed she was staring at Lee's bandages. I wrapped my hand like his, and she just followed my hand with her eyes. She said nothing, but I don't think she went back willingly. Lee got badly hurt, remember? If her father threatened to kill Lee, then -" Kakashi paused.

Naruto looked at you as you remained motionless, sitting away from everyone.

"She has been programmed to be an obedient wife then. No wonder she didn't flinch when Lee said her husband was about to hit her," Naruto said.

"We need her to talk, and the only person that I think will be able to make her say anything is Lee. She talked without being told to when Lee was there. If he talks to her, she might open up to him," Kakashi said.

"I just don't understand why she remembers Lee. What did he do to her?" Naruto asked as Mark was laughing at Lee.

"You think you can win against me?" Mark laughed as Lee smiled.

"I haven't even started yet," Lee said.

"I'm going to break every bone in your body and kill you! I'll mount your skull on my mantle!" Mark yelled as they went after each other.

One second, you were there sitting, then the next moment, you were between them, catching their legs in midair. Everyone froze in shock while you stopped the fight just like that.

"Y/n, you idiot! What's wrong with you? Actually, you know what. Kill him for me; I don't have time for this," Mark said as you were just standing there holding their legs.

"Y/n?!" Lee asked, horrified.

You didn't say anything, but you started feeling horrific pain in your stomach.

"That's right! She does everything I tell her to do, so now you are going to die! The moon family is hazardous, you know," he chuckled.

"Y/n! It's me, Lee! We were friends once! Y/n, look at me, please!" Lee begged as a pool of blood started forming on the ground.

"She doesn't have any. Kill him now!" He ordered as you let go of both of them and passed out on the ground, revealing the blood.

"Naruto, get a doctor!" Lee screamed in panic.

"She's fine; she is being dramatic!" Mark growled as he was going to make you stand up, but Lee punched him in the face and picked you up.

"She's pregnant, you idiot! Her catching our attacks hurt her; she might lose her baby now!" Lee yelled.

Lee didn't wait for any doctors to show up. He took you to the nearest hospital while Mark was planning on having Lee arrested for kidnapping you. Lee was a nervous wreck while Mark had grabbed his suitcase and was writing letters to his business partners.

"Stop pacing; it's annoying," Mark growled as Lee couldn't believe it was you.

You changed so much and not in a good way. Lee just wanted your baby and you to be okay. He didn't care about anything else and was stressing out because he couldn't do anything to help you.

"Any news?" Sakura asked as Lee shook his head.

"Nothing, it's been two hours!" Lee said, horrified.

"Lee, calm down. My friends are the best in this field. They will do what they can, okay? Do you know that girl?" She asked.

"She.. we met when we were seven; she was watching me train, and I caught her. She couldn't form her own opinions then and was terrified of it. I taught her how to make her own opinions while I trained. I was the first friend she ever had, probably. She told me the things they did to her for training purposes, but it wasn't that it was torture. She told me I was the only one ever nice to her. We met at the Chuinn exams again she was the girl that fought her father... she didn't get away like I thought she did. I have a rock at my house with my name on it that she made me. I had to whip  lipstick off my face because she kissed me twice... I thought maybe she was happy. Not... not this.... anything but this..." Lee said as he tried not to cry Sakura looked at him, shocked.

"The girl that had a mental breakdown after seeing you hurt," Sakura said as Lee sighed.

"Yeah, she tried to stop the fight but didn't make it in time. Her father must have followed her," he said as Sasuke and Shikamaru came by.

"Mr. Mark Houlton?" Shikamaru asked.

"If it's business, yes," he said as he reviewed the paperwork.

"You are under arrest for beating your wife," Sasuke said coldly.

"What? I would never do that. She got in a fight between me and that bowl-cut idiot over there. Her injuries are from that," he explained as Sasuke picked him up by his throat.

"She caught the kicks. We have evidence you have been beating her. So come with us, or we will make you," Sasuke said as he dropped Mark.

"Wait until my father hears about this; he will have your heads on spikes!" He growled as Shikamaru quickly grabbed him and started walking out with him.

"That idiot hurt her! I can prove it! He was the one who did it with his jutsu!" I would never hurt her! She will say so!" Mark yelled as they took him out.

"Excuse me, are you the man who brought her in?" The nurse asked.

"Yes, is she going to be okay? How is the baby? Is it okay?" Lee asked.

"Mr. Lee, I'm sorry, but due to the beating she sustained, she lost her baby. She wasn't far along. It seemed she was only two months along," the nurse said as Lee started crying.

"He beat her that badly? Why would he beat her? She was pregnant! Oh my god," he cried.

"She will be okay, though; we have been trying to get her to talk, but she hasn't spoken or even cried. We told her the news, and she didn't seem bothered by it. She needs a good therapist," the nurse said as Lee tried to stop crying.

"Can we see her?" Lee asked.

"Yes, you can, but I don't think she will talk to you," the nurse said.

"Hey," Naruto said as he brought Hinata.

Sasuke came back with Tenten and Neji, who he was going to place as your guards now.

"I'll stand by and watch her too, not just these yeo," Sasuke said.

"So the girl that got away didn't get away after all. You had been looking for her for a while, Lee," Neji said.

"Are you ready?" Sakura asked as Lee nodded.

"Hey, Y/n, can we come in? You have visitors," Sakura said as she opened the door to your room, and you were just staring at the wall with no expression on your face.

"Y/n, it's me, Rock Lee. You remember me, right?" He asked. As you didn't answer or move from your spot, you just sat there waiting to be told what to do.

"I used to have long hair; remember you told me I should get it cut? Y/n, you are safe; you can say or do whatever you want. If you want to hit me or something, please do something," he said as you just sat there.

"What did they do to her?" Sakura asked as Lee got in front of you and saw how dead your eyes were.

"Is the room too cold?" He asked, trying to get you to say anything at all.

"What's your favorite color? Come on, Y/n, please no. Come on, you have to be in there somewhere," he said as you said nothing and had no visible reaction.

"Please don't make me say those words to you. Come on, please, something. Give me something, please," Lee begged as he waved his hand in front of your face, only to get you to blink.

"What words?" Naruto asked.

"You.... may speak, the day I fought you and Sasuke, her father, said those words to her. He said she was adopted, but I knew better. He beat you so badly you can't talk without those words, can you?" He asked as you had no reaction to him crying.

Sakura was close to crying because you weren't responding to anything, not even to him crying in front of you.

"You may speak about the last seven years," he said as you looked at him finally, but you were eyeing his bandages.

"It's all a bit of a blur, and I was trained until I couldn't stand. I was waterboarded, and I hated the dark cage, but you like it eventually, and the muzzle, too, with the spikes. I miss the dark cage and the well. It's nice, and there is quite nothing there but you. My mother killed herself, and I don't know why, but my dad made sure she was dead. He cut her up and spread her body in the front yard. I liked that. My little brother beat a woman to death after she rejected him. He's dead now, too. My dad remarried, and she has two boys. She was not as obedient as my other mom was. So he electrocutes her if she's not behaving. I like that too. It feels like you're dying, but you aren't. I'm getting married soon, and Mark treats me better. He beats me more often. He makes sure I do everything right, and if I don't, he hits me. I don't mind it, I like it. Obedient wives should always listen to their husband's requests. No matter what it is. You say yes; you have no options or thoughts; you just do it. It's nice not having thoughts or options; they are too loud," you said as they all were horrified.

"I used to know a boy once. He never hit me like everyone else does. He hated me the most. It's why he never hit me. He used... I gave him a rock before I went away. I couldn't get away. They were going to kill him. He's dead now, though," you said.

"What do you mean He's dead now?" Lee asked.

"If I ran away even once, he died. I ran away twenty times. I don't know why. I think it was because I didn't want to be loved. At least my father killed him, so now I will have no distractions from my training. He was too nice... I wanted to protect him so he didn't end up like me. I was already too far gone when I saw him last. I didn't want to be loved by my family; that's why I ran away," you said.

"Y/n, it's me! It's Lee. I'm fine! Please look at me and remember me! You made me the rock, and you carved my name into it for me!" He cried.

"Ninjas protect the people that are precious to them; it's why I fought so hard. It's why I stayed and never left... ninjas are supposed to protect those precious to them..," you said as Lee started sobbing and hugged you, but you stopped talking and didn't have any expression on your face.

"We will take care of you, okay? I promise we will fix this and get you all better. We will get you all better, and you will be safe. You have to believe that, okay?" He asked, as you were not responsive.

"Come on, please! Y/n, please, you have to be in there still. I told you that! I told you that's one of the things ninjas did! Please be in there, please!" He cried as you showed no emotion at all.

"There is nothing left of her..." Neji whispered while trying to get a reading from you, but there was nothing at all.
