You're not what you think you are Y/n

Y/n's POV

----------------

I woke up to my alarm screaming. Or at least, as much as it can being an alarm clock.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

I slammed my hand down to turn it off. Gosh, I hate those dam things. I looked up at the clock.

8:58

School starts in about... HOLY CRAP School started 8 minutes ago!

"Y/N! Hurry up! You're late!" I heard my mom yell downstairs from the kitchen.

Great. Second day of high school and I'm late.

"Well isn't life just great" I mutter sarcastically.

I throw on a pair of ripped jeans and a f/c t-shirt. I tie my hair back, not even bothering to run a brush through it.

'At least it couldn't get any worse' I thought to myself.

But as most of you know, the stories tend to take a turn for the worst here.

A/n's POV

-----------------

I sit in geography waiting for Y/n. I worry about her. Most half-bloods have to be sent to camp by now. But Y/n hasn't been attacked as much as the others. But she's not here, that could mean one of two things, either she's been attacked, or she stayed up late reading. I hoped the second one was right.

Being a satyr isn't easy with a demi-god like Y/n.

I was starting to panic and was worried I would eat the desk, when the door slammed open.

Y/n stood in the doorway, binder in hand, bags under her eyes, and her h/c hair pulled back into a messy ponytail. "Sorry I'm late Mr. G" she said still half asleep.

She definitely stayed up late last night. And by the looks of her hair, that was worse than being attacked by monsters.

She sat down in the desk in front of me, tearing open her binder.

I swear I could hear her whisper something about what a good book she was reading. Looks like I was right.

I scribble down a note on a piece of paper and toss it to her.

'How was the book?' it read.

She writes back quickly so the teacher won't notice.

She hands it over to me.

The note said 'Is it that obvious? Ha! But yes it was a good book'.

She drew a small smiley face underneath the words.

I roll my eyes. Oh Y/n.

Her e/c eyes follow my fingers as I point to the teacher.

'Listen' I mouth.

She turns back around and looks up at the screen.

'Enjoy this life while you can Y/n L/n' I think to myself sadly.

Y/n's POV

-----------------

I run up to A/n when I see him in the hallway.

"Watcha got second period?" I ask trying to remember what he said yesterday.

"Gym, same as you, we went over this five times yesterday. Y/n you've got to be kidding me."

I laugh quietly, causing a few people to look over in my direction.

"Oh yeah" I said.  A/n had the same schedule as me.

He rolls his eyes teasingly. "Okay goldfish brain."

The warning bell rings.

"See you in gym, dear solider" I say saluting him.

He plays along. "Fare well, I shall meet you in the battlefield" He jokes.

I role my eyes and run to my locker before heading to the gym.

But somehow, deep down I knew that we were only partly joking.

-time skip-

We were playing volleyball, and I was on a team with A/n. He walked funny yes, but he was still a good player, he just can't run for the ball. But with a serve like his, nobody complains.

"Nice serving Y/n"

I turned around. It was A/n. "Coming from you, that must mean I'm either really good, or so bad you feel bad and need to say something."

He rolls his eyes. "I was just trying to be nice"

I grab my gym bag and sling it over my shoulder.

"So what was the book about?"

I raise my eye brows teasingly.  "Wouldn't you like to know."

I heard a loud bang from being us. "Holy shit what was tha-"

A/n grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the room, running.

"What's going on A/n?" I demanded.

I could tell he was nervous. He was pale and jittery.

I stopped him in the hallway. I needed answers.

"The Minotaur, It's back."

"The WHAT? A/n, that's a myth you idiot!"

"I know you won't believe me but it's after you. We need to get you out of here Y/n!"

He was panicking full blown now. It was creeping me out.

"What are you talking about? Why me? I'm just a normal kid!"

A/n bit his lip.

"You're not what you think you are Y/n."

"I'm sorry what?" A/n was acting really weird now. This wasn't like him.

He was staring behind me. 'What now' I thought. 'Did someone get beat up again?'

I turned around to see the monster behind me.

No one got beat up yet, but If I'm correct, I'm gonna get worse than Carter Mino got from Jake the bully. If I don't die in fear first that is.

A/n POV

----------------

I grab her wrist and pull her out of the gym. Oh gods I can't let her die. I should've brought her to camp sooner!

I run, dragging her along.

"What's going on A/n?" She demanded.

Gods not now, maybe she can still not believe it! I have to try. But that's what got us here. The lies went on too long. I took it too far.

"The Minotaur. It's back."

I was terrified. Now wasn't the time for questions, but I knew Y/n wouldn't move without the truth. And even then she wouldn't believe it.

"The WHAT? A/n that's a myth you idiot!"

I knew we didn't have much time. I had to hurry.

"I know you won't believe me but it's after you. We need to get out of here Y/n!"

She must have thought I was going crazy. She wouldn't have been too far off. I was pretty scared.

"What are you talking about? Why me? I'm just a normal kid!"

I bite my lip. How much do I tell her?

"You're not what you think you are Y/n"

"I'm sorry WHAT?"

She looked at me confused. I mean, I don't blame her.

I looked behind her. Gods no. We ran out of time. I grab her arm and start running.

"Hurry Y/n" She tore her arm out of my grip.

"What are you DOING!"

"I'm gonna stop that thing before it hurts someone"

Let's face it. We all are weird. But Y/n was also crazy. Even for a half-blood. And that was saying a lot.

Y/n ran and slide under the minotaur. She climbed onto it's back and dug a pair of scissors out of her purse. She stabbed it and it immediately turned to dust. Y/n was left holding it's horn

"How did yo-"

She cut me off shrugging. "I like crafting."

I stared at her, the at the horn. "I think we should take you to camp."

"Wait that summer camp your family always goes to?"

I shake my head. "Y/n, I think you and I should have a little..." I hesitated. "We should probably have a little talk."

Author's Note
