Y/n and the rangers were patrolling the Alola region on the former's Rayquaza,  they were currently patrolling mount Lanakila on Ula Ula island.

Deciding to patrol the insides of mount Lanakila, they landed near the top before Y/n recalled Rayquaza. The rangers uniform can help them withstand the cold weather while Y/n had a jacket and a thin layer of aura around him to keep him warm.

While they were exploring , they found a pack of wild Alolan Sandshrew and Alolan Sandslash.

Using the Rotom phone that was given to him by Palutena, Y/n looked the two Pokemon up.

"Sandshrew, Alola Form. The Mouse Pokemon. An Ice and Steel type. Their outer armor is like steel, which prevents them from rolling up into a ball."

"Sandslash, Alola Form. The Mouse Pokemon. An Ice and Steel Type.  A long, long time ago, it lived in the desert. With its sharp claws fully extended, it can climb right up an iceberg without slipping"

Seeing a Sandslash that's larger then the others, our heroes guessed it was a totem Pokemon. But when it saw them, it flared it's aura as it prepared to face them.

"It must think we're intruders , doesn't look like we're leaving without a fight." Y/n said as he pulled out a Pokeball .

"Victini battle time!"

"Flamethrower!"

Victini fired a stream of flames at Sandslash who dodged and used ice beam.

"Dodge and use flame charge!"

 Victini dodged before surrounding herself in flames before charging at the totem, the attack struck it's mark and sent the mouse Pokemon back.

One of the Sandshrew  tried to attack Victini with metal claw, but the victory Pokemon  dodged and striking flamethrower, knocking it out.

The totem struck back with ice ball, knocking Victini back, it tried to use ice ball again but Y/n and Victini didn't plan to let the attack build up. 

"Counter with flame charge!"

After surrounding herself with flames, Victini clashed with the totem. Few clashes later Victini finally knocked the mouse Pokemon back. 

"Fire blast!"

Victini fired a star shaped blast that struck it's mark causing an explosion,  when the dust died down, it revealed the totem was down and out.

Our heroes quickly rushed to the totem to heal it, the pack, while tense at first, relaxed when the trio helped the totem recover. Realizing the misunderstanding, after the totem was healed, the pack all apologized to the humans. While the trio understood the pack's reaction, the totem insisted Y/n take a ice type Z crystal, the Icium z for their troubles. Accepting the crystal, our heroes continued their patrol.

A few hours later

After finishing their patrol, Y/n got a call from his teacher. She wanted him and the rangers to help her to find a mythical Pokemon in the Kalos region. She also mention that an old friend of his will be joining them.

This caused Y/n to raise an eyebrow, old friend? He could only wonder who since he has a few.  

After reaching the Pokemon school, Palutena appeared in a flash of light. Beside her was Iseult and Igraine along with a Pokemon the trio have never seen before. Y/n pulled out his Pokedex to find out.

"Zeraora, the thunderclap Pokemon. An Electric Type. It electrifies its claws and tears its opponents apart with them. Even if they dodge its attack, they'll be electrocuted by the flying sparks."

Zeraora walked up to Y/n with a glare, growling  and sparking as if to Intimidate him. But Y/n glared back, even flaring his aura to make the thunderclap Pokemon back off. It did with a smirk, making Y/n realize that the mythical Pokemon was testing him.

Y/n then was hugged from behind from someone , he looked to see his old friend Akeno Himejima.

"Hi Y/n." She greeted with a giggle.

"Akeno!?" Y/n cried out shocked.

"What's wrong? You don't seem happy to see me." Akeno said while getting in Y/n's face. Which caused the male guardian to take a few steps back.

Deciding to help Y/n, she introduced the newcomer to the rangers.

"Rangers, this is Akeno Himejima, an aura guardian that specializes with electric type Pokemon." Palutena introduced.

"It's nice to meet you all." Akeno greeted with a smile.

Akeno seemed to get along with the rangers, though Y/n can't help but whisper to his fellow apprentices . "If only they knew her real personality is like."  They could only nod in agreement, knowing the lighting priestess as many called her, was really like in battle.

Palutena then teleported them to a mountain near the guardian school, everyone was quick to noticed the large amount of steam in the air.

"Rumors speak of the mythical Pokemon Volcanion has made this mountain it's home." Palutena explained. "While the other teachers and myself can handle it, but we wanted  if the "master of legendaries" can handle it." She said teasingly to Y/n who grumbled. "Your friends are here as backup, i'll only step in if it proofs to much to handle."

The seven then heard footsteps, they turned to find the mythical itself  had appeared. Most likely to confront what it considers intruders.

Y/n brought out his Rotom phone to scan Volcanion.

"Volcanion, the steam Pokemon. A Fire and Water Type. It lets out billows of steam and disappears into the dense fog. It's said to live in mountains where humans do not tread." It beeped.

Before Y/n could  reach for a Pokeball, Zeraora jumped in front of Y/n, calling for him to use to battle instead.

"Zeraora has been looking for a worthy partner for a while now." Palutena told Y/n." He found one in you, now proof him right of choosing you by leading him to victory."

Y/n used his Rotom phone to scan Zeraora's moves. "Electro ball!"

Zeraora created a sphere of electricity  before firing it at Volcanion, it attack knocked Volcanion back a bit before it's ring on it's back detached to reveal they're two arm like cannons, it then fired an hydro pump.

"Double team!"

Zeraora glows before surrounding  Volcanion with clones, the hydro pump hit a clone and missed. Volcanion's eyes and body glow light blue. An orb of water then forms in between the two cannons on its back and explodes, creating a massive blast around Volcanion. 

The blast knocked Zeraora back, but the thunderclap Pokemon was still ready to go. They then heard what sounds like a bell, they saw the blue lines and dots on the cannons of Volcanion were now red.

"Y/n! When the rings on it's cannons are red, it means it ran out of water! It won't be able to use water type moves now, here's  your chance!" Palutena called out.

"Plasma fist!" 

"Zeraora's fists become surrounded in light blue electricity and then he slams his fists onto the ground, sending a stream of light blue electricity through the ground and towards the steam Pokemon.

The attack struck it's mark and and casued an large explosion, when it died down, it revealed Volcanion greatly weakened.

Y/n threw a ultra ball at the downed mythical. 1...2...3 and ping. And with that Volcanion was caught.

After picking up the Ultra ball containing Volcanion, Akeno hugs Y/n from behind.

"My, my Y/n~ you really gotten strong haven't you? Mind showing me how much in bed?" Akeno whispered in Y/n ear.

"Akeno!!" The rangers and and the younger guardians cried in anger.

Palutena giggled has the younger girls got into a heated argument, she then clapped loudly  to get their attention. "Alright everyone, let's head to a Pokemon center for dinner before Y/n and the rangers return to Alola."

"Yes ma'am." The guardians and rangers said in union.

"And apprentice L/n?" Palutena said in a serious tone.

"Yes!?" Y/n said while going ramrod straight.

"Here's Zeraora's Pokeball, take good care of it." She said giving Y/n a Cherish ball. She had already caught Zeraora, she was only holding on to it until the thunderclap Pokemon found it partner it was looking for.

"Of course ma'am." Y/n said while taking it.

After Palutena teleported them to a Pokemon center, Y/n could only wonder what the future will hold as the journey continues.
