Right now, everyone was watching Ash as he tried his second time at catching an Alola Pokemon.

"Grubbin, the Larva Pokemon. A Bug type, Grubbin scrapes trees with its large jaws and drinks their sap. It makes its home underground. Ash! Did you hear that?" Rotom asked him.

" Sure did. Got it covered, Rotom!" Ash assured as Gubbin used string shot. " Pikachu jump up!" Pikachu jumped, missing the string shot that almost hit Ash. "Alright, use thunderbolt!" The attack hit the Gurbbin directly. The Gurbbin was heavily damaged as Ash threw a Pokeball at it. Gurbbin went into the Pokeball  as everyone waited to see if Grubbin would stay in there.

" Will he catch it?" Kaiwe asked while watching.

" Who knows?" Y/n said as Grubbin popped out of the Pokeball and dug straight into the ground. " That's disappointing."

 " Too bad." Mallow said in disappointment.

"He was so close." Lana said as she slumped her shoulders. The wild Gurbbin then started digging around until coming to a stop.

" Quick Pikachu, aim where Grubbin is about to come out and then use quick attack!" Pikachu got ready when Grubbin would come out of the ground. Everyone watched intently for that moment when all of the sudden the ground behind Y/n and the others exploded.  The wild Grubbin jumped out of the hole causing Lilie to scream in fear as she hid behind Y/n and Mallow.

"You sure know how to get scared." Mallow said with a sheepish smile.

"I'm not scared." Lilie said trying to put on a brave act.

 "You could've fooled me." Y/n said sarcastically.

"I'm not!" Lilie restated. " I love to research Pokemon! It's just i..." She's inteupted by thr battle continuing  as Pikachu used quick attack to get closer to Grubbin. Grubbin used string shot, forcing all of them to dodge them or be hit. Grubbin eventually caught Pikachu by the leg.

"Pikachu!" Ash called out worried.

"Watch out for it's powerful jaws!" Rotom warns as Grubbin closes in on Pikachu. Pikachu dodges getting clamped down by turning its body to the side. Grubbin instead hit Pikachu in the face with on of its pincers. Grubbin then flew pass Pikachu then buried itself back underground and escaping.

"Pikachu! Are you okay?" Ash asked while rushing to Pikachu's side. Ash picks up Pikachu while everyone looks worried about him.

"I'm so sorry." Lilie apologizes about what happend.

" I'll take you to the Pokemon center now!" Mallow offers.

" A Pokemon center would me great, so lead the way Mallow." Ash said, accepting Mallow's offer. And don't you worry Lillie."

"And Ash, we'll go back to school and tell Professor Kukui what happened all right?" Kaiwe told him.

" Thanks Kaiwe ." Ash said as he and Mallow ran to the nearest Pokemon center.

"Actually, i need to meet up with a old friend of mine at Poni island." Y/n said surprising the others.

" At Poni island? Who and why?" Kaiwe asked.

" This friend of mine is a Pokemon ranger, who says there's something in Poni that's a little off." Y/n explained. " She's also the one who gave me Manaphy's egg. 

Y/n called out Genesect who changes into his  fleet mode before getting on. " Tell the others i won't be back for a few hours." Y/n said as Genesect get's ready to leave.

" We will, be careful." Lilie said as Genesect took off.

  One hour later

Y/n reached Poni island's Pokemon center in about a hour, he then got off Genesect before returning him.

Y/n entered the Pokemon center and looked around for his ranger friend.

"Hey Y/n long time no see." A voice said near the counter. Y/n turned to the voice and sees  his old friend.

 "Hey Coco it's been a while." Y/n said with a smile .

After the two friends reunites, they went to one of Poni islands many routes. When they reached their  destination, they both found something odd.

"A ring? What's a giant ring doing here?" Y/n asked with a raised eyebrow.

A giant gold ring was infront of them, the hollow part of the ring looks like a purple portal.

" I don't know, but i have a bad feeling about this." Coco said as she got her styler ready.

Y/n got ready as well, knowing Coco has a sense for danger that helps her with her job as a Pokemon ranger, he also senses something powerful from the ring.

Y/n called out Diancie, who noticed Coco and was happy to see her.

" Good to see you to Diancie, but we have a problem. Coco said although she was happy to see the Diamond Pokemon.

Suddenly the portal shined as something came out of it.

Whatever it was it kicked up i large cloud of dust, after it died down revealing a shiny Rayquaza?!

" What in the? What's a shiny Rayquaza doing in Alola , how is it here?" Coco said in disbelief before looking at Y/n.

" Looks like your luck strikes again." Y/n had a tick mark on his head knowing what she was talking about. His response? " Shut it you."

"Real mature Y/n,real mature." Coco giggled.

The two slowly walked over to Rayquaza to show they mean no harm.

 Rayquaza however was too angry and confused to listen, as it attacked with outrage.

The two humans jumped back before Y/n slammed his hands on the ground, aura chains erupted from the ground and constricted the sky high Pokemon.

Coco activated her styler and quickly captured the sky high Pokemon, she knew Y/n's aura chains can hold down most Pokemon, she also knew Rayquaza will break free if she's not fast enough.

Rayquaza calmed down, it was interested of the human that was able to hold it down although temporarily.

The two humans heard a cry from above, they looked  up to see a Pokemon that looks like Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele.

 " I've heard of that Pokemon before, it's Poni islands guardian deity , Tapu Fini". Coco said in awe of the land spirit Pokemon.

 "I wish Rotom was here tell me more about it." Y/n said.

" I've heard Tapu Fini can water that can purify anything it touches. " Coco explained.

It was obvious to the duo that Tapu Fini came to see what's happening. Tapu Fini flew closer to them before circling them. 

Seemingly satisfied, Tapu Fini floated to the side. Rayquaza then roared a challenge to Y/n, Y/n sighed while Coco giggled, both knowing what's next.

Rayquaza used dragon pulse, luckily Diancie's fairy typing stopped any damage, seeing it's opponent is a fairy type, Rayquaza then's files high into the air. Its body then becomes outlined in a green aura, and it dives into Diancie with great speed.

"Quick protect!" Y/n yelled out in alarm. Diancie put up a barrier, however the barrier couldn't handle the force and started cracking. " Move out of the way, then use moon blast!" Diancie jumped out of the way at the last moment causing Rayquaza to fly past her, taking the chance Diancie fired a pink ball of energy at Rayquaza, the attack hit its mark dealing a good amount of damage. But Rayquaza made a u turn while using aerial ace.

" Diancie use diamond storm!" Diancie fired a large amount of pink diamonds at Rayquaza who dodged them and hit its target. DAI!! Diancie cried in pain. "Diancie are you okay?" Y/n called out worried.

Knowing they were capable of more, Rayquaza did something that made things worst for Y/n.

Rayquaza started to glow and change, Y/n gulped knowing what's going on. When Rayquaza finished, the mega evolution symbol appeared before fading, Rayquaza mega evolved!

  " Great just great, just what i needed." Y/n grumbled while faceplaming.

Coco looked worried, knowing how powerful mega evolution is, seeing Y/n and Diancie in action a few times herself.

" If that's the case let's fight fire with fire." Y/n said as he held his keystone. "Dian!" Diancie shouted ready.  " You who have the strength to evolve even further, Y/n began. If you lend me your heart and trust, I shall lend you my strength and will. The mega stone on Diancie and Y/n's keystone let out four streams of light that started to connect together as Diancie's body glowed and began to change. Transcend through the boundaries that keep your true strength hidden away! Beyond evolution, Mega evolve! As Y/n finished his chant, Diancie has finished changing, her new form shined as the mega evolution symbol appeared for a second before fading.  

Rayquaza got ready knowing it was for the battle of its life, Coco was in awe, no matter how many times she sees Diancie's mega evolution she just can't help it. Tapu Fini was watching with interest, clearly feeling the power of their bond.

" Alright Diancie let's finish this! Moon blast full power!" Diancie created and fired a moon blast that's the size of her own body. Rayquaza tried to charge though it with dragon ascent. The clash of the two moves caused a powerful explosion. When it died down it revealed Rayquaza has turned back to normal, it weakly raised its head and gave Y/n a look of approval. 

"Y/n, i think Rayquaza wants you to catch it." Coco said has she walked to him.

"Is that true Rayquaza?" Y/n asked. " You don't have to."

" The fact that it's letting you catch it without any further complaints means yes." Coco giggles.

Y/n walks over to the sky high Pokemon with a ultra ball and tapped Rayquaza with it, Rayquaza went in and stayed it.

When they looked where the ring is ,but they found it gone. The decided to return to the Pokemon center.

Y/n was waiting for his Pokemon to heal while also waiting  for Coco who was sending her report.

After he picked up his Pokemon, Coco reveals that she will be joining the Pokemon school with him, just in case something like this happened again.

Coco was also a trainer, she brought her Pokemon with her as a just in case.

Riding on Genesect, the duo went to the Pokemon school where Y/n introduced her to the rest of his class.

Ash was excited to meet other Pokemon ranger and so was the others, when the two told them what happened at Poni island everyone was shocked and a bit disappointed. Shocked at what happened, disappointed at unable to see the battle.

 Rotom was begging with to let out Rayquaza, but they decided to turn in for the day. Kaiwe was also  surprised Y/n saw Tapu Fini. 

Rotom decided to tell everyone about Tapu Fini before they all go home.

"Tapu Fini the land spirit Pokemon. A water and Fairy type. The guardian of Poni island. Tapu Fini creates and controls water that washes anything unclean. It rarely appears infront of humans."

After that they all went home, Coco was living with Y/n during here stay in alola.
