31. Never have I ever.

* Liam Lockwood's POV *

"The next stop is at the Chell garage in Wixfield." Lora opened up the map. Yes, very old-school, it's map out of paper. A big, old paper map. "Are you sure you can read that?" I asked with a grin on my face.

"Yes, Liam. I'm not that young. I've grown up with maps. We also learned to read it in preschooler."

"Of course I know that, the question is if you can remember it?"

"Shut up, wiseguy. It's still thirty miles."

"Hey! You got that very quickly!"

"I thought I've told you before not to underestimate me again."

"Your right. Forgive me,"  I said, very sarcastically. She only shook her head and looked out of the window.

"Wow, it's really pretty down here."

"Yes, it is." It's true. It was very beautiful outside, along the road. The grass was green and there's a whole field covered in purple flowers. You could also smell them in the air. It's just... Just that it wasn't the most beautiful thing I could see. That was sitting in the seat next to me.

* Lora Croffard's POV *

"Wow! Liam this place is amazing."  In front of me laid a deep blue dam. Green fields lead to a cute wooden farmhouse on top of the hill.

We drove up the small path, covered with tiny white rocks. Liam pulled up in front of the front door and after turning off his car, he turned to face me.

"Welcome home, Cinderella. Well, for the weekend."

I started to giggle like a twelve year old girl who saw her first crush. "Why, thank you, sir."

"Come on, let's get out." Did I see a smile on that face? Yes, I think I did. What was he smiling about so suspiciously? Before I could notice, Liam was next to me, holding the door open for me to get out.

"Thank you." I got out, only to find myself staring at the building in front of me. It's really pretty. It looked like one of those houses you see in movies. I could see the wood lining along the house. It's roof was also triangled to the sky and it has small windows in it.

"What are you waiting for? Come in." We grabbed all of our luggage and when I entered the house I froze in my tracks.

Wow.

Thats all I could say. Everything is just... Perfect. Small paintings were hanging against a wall. And there's a staircase in front of me.

"Just put you things here. Let's take a tour first."  I only nodded in response and followed Liam into the next room to our left. We walk into a area that I could see was the living room. It had lovely leather couches and a fireplace in the wall. There's also a big photo frame agains the wall with a family photo. I recognized the Lockwood's, the Evens' and a few others from the family that I've already met along our little journey.

Through a hallway we came to a modern kitchen. The walls were grey and the island in the middle was surround by wooden planks. Round white lanterns were hanging from the roof and wooden shelves were against the wall with a few kitchen tools and bowls.

"Let's go upstairs first, we can go outside later on." We passed a dining room before going up the staircase.

The first room was a lovely room with dark wooden pillars that's holding up the roof. The dubble bed in the centre of the room was covered with white bedsheets and grey pillows and a throw. There's a fluffy carpet on the floor and a white drawer in the corner. Also a black couch stood near the window. Liam told me that this was the room where he would staying.

The next two rooms were quite small but  very cosy. They both had matching bathrooms. I wouldn't mind staying one of those, but Liam kept on telling me that the next room was mine.

I openes the door to the room, and it was  actually pretty heavy for a door. Must be the wood or something, I guess.

Just when I thought the house couldn't any more beautiful. Until now, obviously. The room is spotless. There's a wide, black, round chandelier hanging from the balcony. A dark grey stones formes a fireplace. Above the bed was a block in the wall with a crimson coloured wallpaper, acting as a headboard. The bed was grey and cream. On the nightstands there were lamps and lavender in pretty little vases.

"Wow, Liam. This is amazing." I said, dreamy.

"Yes, it is but we're not done. There's something else I want to show you. This isn't the best yet."

"Nothing can be better than this. Ever."

*********

"Never!" I gasped in the thin air. "I take back my words. Never will I ever say something like that again. This is way better."

"Seriously, Lora. It's only a bookshelf."

"Yes, but... Look at all these books. You've just said this is better than the room and now you don't think so?"

He only sighed and shook his head. He walked over to the books and unexpectedly pulled on something. A door! Out of the bookshelf. What the-

"Come in." As I entered there I saw that there were more books. Books everywhere, up to the very top of the pointy roof. There's also a window where you have a view of the dam and fields outside. There's a comfy couch in front of it with a coffee table.

"Oh. My. Goodness. Just look at this! . Never have I ever seen something like this? Just look at all this books! The view! I-" I'm speechless. There were no words that I could have said which would have  describe it.

"You like it?"

"Yes! This is -"

"Amazing,  I know. You've said it like twelve times already."

* Liam Lockwood's POV *

A while later we took a stroll down to the dam. Hand in hand we walked over the grass. The sun was busy setting and it was starting to get chilly outside. When we breathed out smoke comes out of you mouths.

"Look, the reflection of the sun in the water." She pointed out to where the light landed on the surface. "It reminds me of the days that my father would take me out to the park. After what he had done to me  I would feel dirty and I would go to the fountain. There were always coins in there. I would climb into the water and walk over the money and would imagine they were the clouds. The money was clouds and the sun shines on the water. It would make me feel good again. Of course it didn't heal me, but it gave me hope. Hope that someday everything would be okay again. Well, I think I was right, because now I'm better then I ever was in my entire life. Now I have the kids, friends, my brother, your whole family and the best is that I have you. You're the reason why I stand up every morning, Liam. It just wouldn't be the same without you."  I almost got tears in my eyes. Why on earth could someone this special go through all those pain she has. Yet, she doesn't turn back. She stood up everytime. And now look where it got her.

There's nothing in the world like her. She's also the reason I wake up everyday. She's the song to my ears and the beat of my heart.

I love her. If only I could take the leap and tell her that, myself. It's too hard. Maybe I'm to scared of losing her. I won't manage that... At all.
