*SAPPHIRE* POV

After locking the door of our house, I hailed a cab which took me to Xavier's company. I walked inside and directly to his office, there was no need for formalities at the reception desk and requesting an appointment because everyone knew of our status, which pleased me. All I had to do was walk into the building, into the elevator and into his room, providing he wasn't busy in a meeting. Because everyone knew of our relationship, all of the ladies knew that Xavier was just mine and so their pathetic attempts at wooing him were going to waste.

I walked directly to the reception where Elizabeth was sitting and talking on her phone.

"ELIZABETH I DON'T PAY YOU SO YOU CAN TALK ON YOUR PHONE ALL DAY!" I yelled from behind her, imitating a man's voice which came out funny.

Throwing her phone on the floor in shock and twisting her chair to the location of the voice, she spoke, "Sir I'm sorry- You bitch! You scared me!!" She yelled in a hushed tone, her hand on her chest after she realized it was all a joke.

"So what? You, young lady," I pointed at her, "are sitting here and chatting when you should be working! You should take pride in the fact that I love you so much and I won't tell Xavier about his employee slacking at work" I threatened her in a teasing manner as I folded my arms.

"Yeah right Xavier's princess!" She mocked.

"So let's go! Before Xavier sees me here, if he does then he'll leave all his work for me and will surely get thrashed by his dad. I don't want his dad to think I am a bad influence." I told her. She clearly didn't understand the urgency behind it because she simply giggled.

"Too late," She said, and I gave her a confused look. Suddenly I felt two strong arms snake around my waist from behind. A yelp escaped my mouth as I looked back.

"Isn't it bad to talk about someone behind their back?" Xavier winked at me as I wriggled out of his grip.

"Not as bad as hugging them from behind and scaring the daylights out of them." I laughed triggering both Elizabeth and Xavier to laugh.

"So what brings you here? Don't tell me you missed me so bad?" I rolled my eyes at his ego.

"You wish. No, I didn't miss you, in fact, I'm here for Liz! We're going out." I smirked, two can play at this game.

"You're cheating on me?' Xavier put on a poker face as he tried to act shocked, but that little smirk did not go unnoticed by me.

"No you idiot!" Both of them laughed again.

"Well, then I'm coming with you guys!" He smiled at me, ''I'm all free''.

"No, you're not! You have work to do!" I scolded him, these lies !

"Princess I am not asking you, I'm telling you," He spoke sternly raising an eye brow, which was shaped perfetly.

"Just finished with my meeting, I'm all free now" He smiled proudly.

"Oh really?" I knew he was lying. I keep my purse on Lizzie's desk and crossed my arms over my chest, staring at him, giving him another chance to defy me.

Knowing that his plan failed, he resorted to begging, "Oh come on! Please I wan-"

"No Xavier! No! You're not coming with us and don't try this baby face." I interrupted him before he could use that baby voice because he knows I'm a sucker for it and I can't resist it.

"Xavier, you know Sarah's dad is on his way right? You have to finish your work and don't lie to her, the meeting is still on" This was where I thanked God that Lizzie worked for him and knew his schedule.

"Fine, Go. But I want you to be home early because I'm going home after I am done. I want to give you a surprise." He winked at me.

"OHHHH!!!" Liz squealed but I just rolled my eyes playfully.

"Fine Xavier, I'll come back early today." Sometimes, I hated when he had his way, especially when I knew I would enjoy what he had planned.

"Promise me, you'll be back soon today from this shopping thing and you won't take forever to come home like old ladies?" Xavier playfully mocked, insulting Liz and me in the process.

"Hey!" Liz and I both yelled at the same time once we had clicked on.

"Sorry, sorry!" He held up his hand in surrender which made me laugh.

"I promise you I'll be back soon," I said as I got my purse and Elizabeth got her things ready.

"I love you, Sapphire"

"I love you too Xavier" I got on my toes and gave him a small peck on his lips before turning around and walking out of the office with Liz following behind me.

As soon as we both crossed the road I remembered something. In the midst of kissing Xavier, I must have put my purse back down on the table again and forgot about it. I turned to Elizabeth to see her talking on the phone with someone.

"Liz wait! I forgot my purse inside! Stay here, let me go get it. She simply nodded and got on her phone again, I swear I need to know who she is talking to so much these days!

I was halfway across the road when I saw Xavier leaning against the door of his building holding my purse in one hand and smirking. I crossed the road once there were no cars, and ran to him, "What will you do without me?" He mocked me as he playfully handed my purse to me.

"To know that I have to leave you first, and that's not going to happen in a million years" I giggled and hugged him

"Only a million years?" he questioned

"Xavier!" I grumbled.

"Please let me come with you guys. I'll postpone my meetings, just please let me come." He whined. I swear Xavier is no less than a 5-year-old.

"No Xavier, your dad already thinks it is my fault that you aren't working adequately and I don't like it either. So just go inside! Please! Finish your work and come home. I'll be waiting for you" I kissed his lips started walking towards the road. As I was half way through the road I remember I had to ask him something; there were no cars on the road so I quickly turned around to see Xavier who was already looking at me with a sullen face, it hurt me but he needed to work and earn his money just like the rest of us.

"Xavier, what's the surprise you want to give me tonight?" I wanted to cheer him up, but really the suspense was killing me and I needed to find out and it worked.

He smiles at me before speaking, "Princess, have patience. I promise you it will be the best gift of your life" He smiled at me giving me the warm fuzzy feeling I had grown accustomed to whilst being with him. I turned around to walk again when I heard him shout, "I love you, Sapphire." I turned around to face him again and yelled back, "I love you too Xavier I'll be waiting -"

BOOM.

I feel weird, I don't know what's happening, and all I can see is Xavier running towards me with a worried face. To my left I see a something,I see people gathering around me but I can't make out what is happening because my head began throbbing with pain as my vision becomes blurry. All I see is blood around me, wait blood? Whose blood? What is happening? I black out to see Xavier's face above me... _______________________________________________________________________________

Xavier's POV

"I love you Sapphire" I yelled. She turned around smiling at me. She looked so beautiful and so carefree.

"I love you too Xavier I'll be waiting-"

BOOM

She didn't get to finish her sentence before a speeding car came and hit her. It all happened so quick that I stood there paralyzed. We were just talking and flirting with each other, before a car came out of nowhere and crashed into her, sending her flying onto the road with a thud. I only burst into action once I heard a lady yelling, prompting me to come to my senses and making me run to Sapphire with fear. Stopping just a feet away from her, I got on my knees and was taken aback to see her lying there lifeless.

"SAPPHIRE! SAPPHIRE! WAKE UP!" I yell as I pull her body towards me.

I cried in agony and yelled at her, willing with all my might for her to open her eyes, but she never did.

Red stains littered my shirt with her blood. Her blood. I heard screaming and footsteps as Elizabeth came running towards us. She saw Sapphire in her motionless state and her face went pale as a ghost. She stood there shaken and didn't say a word. Her actions spoke volumes, but I wasn't about to give up.

"CALL A FUCKING AMBULANCE!" I yelled at the people crowding us when suddenly a lady ran towards me and held her wrist, I cursed myself for leaving my phone in my cabin.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!" I yelled at her. How dare she have the audacity to hold my baby girl...This blood it's not stopping, someone please..
I broke down again in tears at the thought of losing her. No! Don't be stupid Xavier. She is alive, she will survive this!

"Keep calm son, I'm a doctor. I need to check if she's alive or no-" She spoke professionally.

"OF COURSE, SHE'S ALIVE!!!!! " I yelled again with tears running down my cheeks. How dare she say this! Why would she say that? Of course, she was alive. She said she would never leave me.

After a minute of desperation and tear-stricken faces waiting in anticipation, she looked at me and then at Sapphire while still holding her wrist. She again looked at me, and then finally spoke.

"Sorry son, she's no more." Confirming the worst.

She was no more. My Sapphire was no longer with us.
