Chapter 34
A/N: Might change ending. I am not happy with it.
~Rissa
Correction: I am happy with what I had written and where I had left it. I am not happy with how it is set up.

My uncle cleared his throat and placed a comforting kiss on the side of my head. He pulled away and smiled as he wiped my eyes. "I am so proud of you," he whispered. "You are so strong."
I smiled at him and nodded my head, staying silent. Relief filled my body, and I had no idea how badly I wanted to hear those words before he said them.
"So... if I am hearing this correctly, if Cass takes off her necklace, we are at liberty to kidnap her and tie her up?" May asked, breaking the moment.
"Fuck you," I said, causing my uncle to chuckle and nod his head at what she said. "What? Why?"
"Because they are able to get there quicker than I can," he said. "And because if you do, then you better be in some deep shit or deep shit is happening around you."
"Or cause shit," Sergio said, causing me to shrug my shoulder. "Where is Her Highness? I thought she would be out here."
"I am standing on the other side of the fucking door waiting for my fatass brother to move out of my way."
Uncle Sebastian rolled his eyes, scowling. "The door opens inwards, Heidi," he said. "So, you can come out now."
"Not with you in the way of my niece. I can't believe that you made her submit fully."
"He didn't," I said, rolling my eyes. "I did that on my own."
"Well he cou- no he couldn't, so move, you Bastard, and let her stand."
"Let her stand," my uncle mocked, rolling his eyes. He stood and helped me stand before moving out of the way, gently pulling me out of the way. "Let h-"
My aunt barged out the door and pulled me into a hug, causing me to chuckle. "My baby," she "sobbed", causing me to roll my eyes. "My, look at you." She pulled away and placed her hands on my cheeks. "So beautiful." She patted them and squished them together. "We're going to need to fatten you a small bit, but I think this weekend will help."
I rolled my eyes.
"Don't stuff her until she throws up is my warning, Your Highness," Dr. Trent said. "She is at a healthy weight right now."
"Yes, but she is a Warrior. She needs more food." She moved it back and forth.
'Can I have my face back,' I asked through our link.
"No, you may not have your face back." She clutched my head close to her bosom. "It is mine. I claim it." She moved my head back and forth.
"You can't," Justin said. "Someone else has already claimed it, and don't you want to meet your great-nephew?"
Aunt Heidi stopped moving and looked to where Justin was holding my son. She took in a deep breath, shoved me to my uncle, and ran towards my son. "Baby!" she exclaimed. "Come to your Auntie!"
"I thought we said we wouldn't be giving her any more sugar," I said, causing my uncle to chuckle.
"My Aunt Heidi, Gentlemen, on a sugar high," Julian said, gesturing dramatically to her where she was cooing at my son.
"This is normal, unfortunately," my uncle said. He patted my shoulder and nodded his head to where Xavier was looking rather tense and shock. 'Go to him,' he said. 'And remember what you said.'
Subtly, I nodded my head as I made my way over to Xavier. I placed my necklace back on while I walked over to him and smiled when he looked at me. 'Did you bring my file?'
'Yes.'
'All of it?'
'Yes,' he replied. 'But, there are parts that he isn't supposed to know for others safety.'
Again, I nodded my head, understanding what he meant. I was sure he had opt-out Camen's name, knowing full well that I wanted to deal with him myself. "How much sugar did you have today?" I asked, tucking myself next to my "lover's" side. "He is safe," I said, barely loud enough for the others to hear. "She won't hurt him."
Xavier didn't say a word but nodded his head. He relaxed slightly, and I was rather happy that I could make him relax.
Aunt Heidi stopped playing with Bryson and looked at me. "Uh... an arm and a turkey?" she asked.
"She means that she had a lot," Sergio said. "Where should we put the bags, Your Majesty, so that you all can catch up?"
"We have all weekend for that," Uncle Sebastian said. "And, since Heidi had a lot of sugar, she has been in the kitchen preparing food."
"Ooh, does that mean I can taste her cookies too?" Clara asked, looking excited.
"Yes, but after we eat dinner," I said, causing her to pout at me. "Don't give me that look," I warned. "It doesn't work on me."
"And this is where I come in and be the bad aunt and give her a cookie." She held her hand, stopping me from talking. "I will only give her one."
"Un huh," I said, narrowing my eyes at her. I didn't trust her. 'Do you two want to be on aunt control?' I asked the twins.
'Ooh, does that mean we get to eat all the cookies we want?' Julian asked.
'Yes,' I replied. I looked at my cousin. "Here is the deal, you eat one cookie before dinner. You can have as many cookies as you want after dinner." I paused.
Clara raised an eyebrow and folded her arms across her chest. "Well, where is it?" she asked.
"Where's what?"
"Where's the 'but?' I know you have one."
"Ok, but you cannot come crying to me if you don't feel so good," I said. "Trust me, eat too many, and you'll feel like throwing up."
"We've done it multiple times before and made Cass get the cookies because she is much stealthier," Julian said. "And much cleaner."
"They took six batches of my cookies once, I was tempted to leave out a crab," Aunt Heidi said, giving me a look.
I didn't reply and shrugged. I squeezed Xavier's hand still feeling that he was rather overwhelmed with being in front of the King and Princess who took over the role of the queen after my uncle's mate died.
"You two look so beautiful together," she said. "I am taking your picture tomorrow, and you can't say no." She wagged her finger. "Also, I am taking a group photo of you all."
"No!" one of the Guardsmen exclaimed. "I am not sitting in front of her."
"I won't be throwing up. That was a one-time thing."
The male, named Bryce, scowled and shook his head. "It doesn't mean that you can't "prank" throw up all over to me to make it "more" authentic."
I held up my right hand. "I give you the Guardsman oath that I will not make the throw-up," I said, feeling the words tighten around me. "And, if I do make it, it will not be directed towards you. And, I swear that I will not tell anyone to make it for me."
Bryce scowled and folded his arms across his chest. He studied me before shrugging his shoulder, looking satisfied. "Ok," he said. He looked at my aunt. "Can we do it early, Your Highness?" he asked. "Before breakfast?"
"Maybe," she replied, winking at me. "It depends on who is awake or not."
"But, for now, you two will be going to Cass's room and looking over the folders." He held his hand, stopping me from talking. "The Guardsmen will get your bags, and I will help settle in the kids. So, now, march." He pointed towards the house.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Balls," I replied before walking towards the house, anxious and nervous about what was in Xavier's folder and why he was holding back from me.

"You really like the color blue," Xavier commented, walking into the bedroom that I called my own. He let go of my hand and walked over to the mirror where I did have some pictures hanging on the mirror.
"Ya," I said, following him to my dresser. "I've always loved the color blue as a little girl. I used to wear these little blue dresses when I was made to wear one."
Xavier hesitated but pulled a photo off of the mirror. "Like this?" he asked, showing me the picture.
I took the photo from him and smiled. It was a picture of Justin, Julian, and I when we were around eight or nine on a swing with me in the middle.
I was wearing a blue dress with these little black shoes and white socks. My hair was pulled into two braided pigtails with ribbons at the ends of the pigtail.
My eyes were closed as I grinned at the person taking the picture showing off a mouth of missing teeth as I started to get my adult teeth in.
Both Julian and Justin were wearing a suit with a blue tie that matched my dress. Their eyes were closed as they grinned, Justin having the least amount of teeth lost.
All three of us were wearing crowns, Uncle Sebastian's mate giving me my first crown then.
"Ya," I said, clearing my throat, and wiped my eyes. I could feel his worried gaze on me and cleared my throat. "Uhh..." I cleared my throat again. "This was taken a couple of months before Aunt Genevieve and Uncle Jack were brutally murdered," I said, my voice cracking.
Xavier placed his arms around me and tucked me close to his side. He didn't say a word as I took in a shuddering breath and calmed my frayed nerves.
"I think there is something said about what happened in my file," I said, clearing my throat. "My uncle wants us to read the files before dinner, and I am sure that Aunt Heidi is almost done preparing the food."
Xavier tensed but nodded his head. He set his jaw as he pulled away from me. "Then let's look at them," he said, coldly. He started to walk towards the bed where two files laid.
"Xavier," I called, causing him to stop. I bit back a sigh as I placed the photo back where it had been and walked over to him. "Look at me, please," I said.
Xavier twisted his head to look at me. His whole body was facing away from me, and I didn't like him not looking at me.
"Turn around," I said. "Please."
Xavier did what I said but didn't look at me. He was stiff and quiet and not the male that I was used to. He looked as if he was trying to hide the fact that he was afraid, that he was afraid of losing me with whatever was written in his file.
I made my way over to him and placed my hand on his cheek causing him to instantly place his hand over mine and moved his face closer to it. "Look at me, please," I whispered, taking a deep breath because his lips were almost touching my hand.
Xavier hesitated but moved his face away from my hand and looked me in the eyes. His eyes were guarded, but I could see the wariness that he was trying to hide.
"No matter what is in that file, whatever you are scared about me finding out, will not change my perspective on you. You gave me a home. You brought me back to my family and helped me find myself again quicker than I would have if I had been stuck with them from the beginning. Ok?"
Xavier hesitated but nodded his head.
I rubbed my thumb across his face, staring at the man that I was falling for, slowly or quickly, I didn't know, but I knew that I was falling for him. "Promise me you will answer any questions that I have when I read your file. Ok?"
Xavier nodded his head again. "Will you do the same?" he asked, rubbing his thumb across my hand.
"Except for my mate's name, yes," I said. I studied him, causing him to look away from. "You know his name, don't you?"
Xavier hesitated but nodded his head. "I do," he confirmed, his voice shaking with slight anger. "But, I won't do anything to him. He will be yours when you are ready."
Relief filled my body, and I nodded my head. I was grateful that he wouldn't attack Camen, and he would let me deal with him.
I had no idea when I would deal with him, but I prayed soon because I wanted to do stuff with Xavier but won't with the fear of harming his Wolf, the side of him that was still bonded to me.
Xavier took my hand and brought it close to his lips. He didn't kiss it like I thought he would but squeezed it and started to lead me to the bed. "I think we should get to reading," he said, sitting down and pulling me until I sat down next to him.
I bit back a smile and nodded, happy that he was willing to sit beside me and not away from me like I thought he would. "I think so," I said, snuggling up next to him and taking his folder when he offered it to me.
Taking a deep breath, I opened the file and looked at the first page that had basic information such as name, age, pack, and mate's name if there was a mate.
For him, he did have a mate, which I kind of figured, but it said that she was deceased. Her name was blotted, causing me to purse my lips because I was curious as to who had been his mate.
But, it was the reason underneath that caught my attention and take a pause. It was the reason as to why my uncle wanted me to read his file before we got into anything serious like maybe a relationship.
The reason why was because Xavier had killed his mate.
