Unknown's POV

"Where is he?" I asked him, polishing my gun.

"I don't know sir"

"What do you mean you don't know?" I replied, looking up at him with a frown.

"W-we lost track becau-"

I instantly took my gun out and shot him.

Useless fucker

Thea's POV

There was exactly a week left. A week until I would finally get back to my sisters.

I was helping the man who kidnapped my sister's to kill the man who killed my mother.

A part of me says that he deserves it but on the other hand, taking part in this murder plan made me no better than him.

I've never felt safe anywhere. The thought of ever coming across my father, made me shudder in fear. And now that I got the chance to grant my wish and send him away for good, I was rethinking my choices.

I went downstairs to talk about the 'plan' with Xander but he wasn't there to be found nor were the faggots.

I stood a few seconds staring at the door. With it's key there dangling from its lock, it looked like it was mocking me.

I could probably make a run for it and get out of here for good but that bastard knew I wouldn't.

Letting out an aggravated sigh, I kicked the door with my foot, repeatedly.
Feeling a bit better, I walked into the living room only to knock my toe on the couch.

I held onto my foot mumbling an incoherent under my breathe.

That hurt.

A lot.

Grumbling, I sat down on the couch and stared at the blank tv in front of me.

Screw it.

I am officially done staying around doing absolutely nothing.

No one was here so that meant it was my place, at least for now. I was not permitted to not go anywhere but the kitchen and living room.

Time to take advantage.

I walked upstairs and went to the end of the hallway and started with the room on the corner.

I opened it slowly with caution. The room was pitch black so I could barely see anything. I moved my hands on the walls trying to find a switch but had no luck.

Inaudibly gulping, I walked further into the room. Suddenly I felt something spiky press against my leg. Yelping, I moved back only to step on another one again.

And each time my foot pressed on it, it gave out a squeak. Curious, I crouched down to grab it and walked out of the room to see what it was.

It was a green ball.

Blake's POV

"Get out of my sight" shouted Xander, pointing towards the door.

"B-but-"

"I said, get out" he repeated louder.

I felt my brother squeeze my shoulder gesturing me to go. Shrugging his hand off, I stormed out of the room angrily.

Once I was outside, I heard footsteps approaching me from behind. All of a sudden I was yanked and turned to see Drake looking very pissed.

"Why the hell did you do that?" he asked me, holding his head in disbelief.

Not like you would understand.

I looked away from his unwavering glance and answered,

"I did what I had to."

"You didn't have to tell her that her that friend was dead, you are messing this whole thin-"

"Oh shut up, Drake. She has food and a roof over her head and those little brats are sa-"

"Don't call them brats," snapped Drake.

I looked at my brother in disbelief.
"Oh so now you're defending them?"

"I-"

"Oh shut it, I'm done with you."

A look of surprise flickered on his face. "You know, you are actually starting to sound a lot like Jen-"

Before he could finish the sentence, I grabbed him by the collar.

"Don't you dare bring mama into this."

"It's all her fault that you are so bitter."

"Mama has done nothing," I fumed, hastily pushing him away from me.

"Then who's fault is it?"

"Everything was good until you came into our lives."

"She die-"

"She's dead because of you"

"She was gonna kill an innocent child, I had no choice," said Drake, looking at me with a hopeless expression.

"You know that night, she promised me, she promised me that she would change for the better. We could've have lived a better life but you ruined that for the both of us."

Drake laughed bitterly.

"You know for a moment you had me, I actually thought you had changed but you're still living in the past," he said with a face held with disappointment and hurt. Shaking his head to himself, he walked back inside.

It's all that girl's fault.

When Lucy had been prying for answers, instantly all I felt was anger at that moment. At least her friend was alive, whereas my mom was six feet under the ground.

So why couldn't she just shut up and be grateful?

Thea's POV

What the hell were rubber squeaking balls doing in this house?

Maybe this is what Xander did in his spare time. You know collect rubber balls and all.

Laughing to myself, I looked at the toy with curiosity. What other things will I possibly find in that room?

Feeling more curious than ever, I went back into the dark room.

I scanned the walls with my hands, desperately to find a switch. Finally finding them I pressed it.

Once the lights were on, I stood still scanning the room in shock.

The room was baby blue and it's walls were painted with bunnies and clouds. There was a cot on the right and boxes filled with toys almost everywhere.

The place was filled with dust and spider webs like it hadn't been used for a long time.

This room, it was a nursery.

From a distant, suddenly I heard the sound of a door being open.

They were back.

Quickly I offed the light and closed the door. The footsteps were coming closer and closer.

Just as I was about to make a run for it, Xander looked me from the other corner of the room and came my way.

Oh god

"What are you doing, haven't I forbid you from coming here ?" he declared pointedly, glaring at me.

"I-"

"I don't want to hear it but if I find out that you've entered any of these rooms I wi-"

"Okay okay, I get it. Can I please go now?" I snapped at him, annoyed.

"Get lost" he scoffed.

Rolling my eyes, I hurried past him.

Prick

"Wait"

I stopped in my tracks and groaned frustratedly.

"What now ?"

In response, all I heard was the familiar squeak of a damn ball.
