Today, is Xabara’s first day in Remus Academy. She woke up early and takes her daily routine. Nang lumabas ito sa kwarta nadatnan niya si Nanay Theresa sa labas ng pinto.

“Handa ka na?”

“Opo nay, excited po ako at marami po akong makakasalamuha roon” parang batang ika ng dalaga sa ginang.

Nanay Theresa laughed and guided her to the hall to eat a breakfast. There, the King and Queen are sitting, waiting for her. When her Dad saw her, he beamed lightly as if he saw a Goddess. She is the resemblance of her mother, the mistake he never regretted.

The King pulled a chair for her.

“Thank you Dad, where’s Xyrene po?”

“She went to school early may gagawin pa raw ito” the Queen answered and she nodded.

Xabara felt uneasy because of the look of the Queen giving her.

“May problema kaya?”

“You look like exactly like your mom”

She can hear a little bit of sarcasm in the Queen’s voice. She just smiled to her in response dahil hindi niya alam ang dapat sabihin. Tinignan nito ang kanyang ama ngunit parang wala lang sa kanya ito at pinagpatuloy ang pagkain.

Matapos nilang magbreakfast, hinatid ng Reyna at Hari si Xabara sa Portal room.

“Uuwi ka muna sa Witcher Alley every weekends so that it won’t look suspicious. May maghahatid sa iyo roon and then you come home the next day, okay?”

"Hindi ko parin pala madalas makasama siya."

“Opo, dad”

The King hug Xabara and whispered in her ear. “I’m sorry, Princess”

“You don’t have to, I understand”

Xabara bid goodbye to the Queen and went inside the portal. She then found herself in a huge gate in front of her. The gate is shinning as if she’s in fairytales, wine grasses covers some of its corners. When the gate opened itself, Xabara went inside to see the three knights waiting for her.

“Bakit kayo nandito?” nakangiting tanong ni Xabara sa kanila.

They look so charming and dashing with their uniforms, in the edge of their long sleeves polo shirt is a brownish collar.

“My bow-tie is red and black, it aint suppose to be black in them”

“Were waiting for you, the King ordered us to protect you here while you are inside the Academy” Theodore said.

Tinignan niya ito mula ulo hanggang paa. Sino ba namang mag-aakala na isang knight ito eh mukhang babagay sa kanya ang maging isang prinsipe.

Xabara smiled to him.

“Thank you, but don’t you think I will gain attention if you keep being with me?”

“We will look at you from afar but we won’t promise to not meddle in your business Xabara. We made oath to your father to protect you while you are here.” Simon said.

“Besides here we aren’t popular, were just knights” malungkot na ika ni Alvin.

“Ang arte mo Alvin” ika ni Simon, and Alvin pouted.

“Di mo na ako love?”

Alvin clings in Simon’s right arm pouting her lips towards him.

“Matigil ka nga” Alvin hissed.

“Tsk”

Natawa na lamang si Xabara sa kanila. She looked at her school map and decided to go first at the Headmistress Office.

“Maiwan ko na kayo”

Tumango na lamang sila sa kanya at pasimpleng sumunod. Xabara knew but she didn’t mind them.

Pagpasok ni Xabara nadatnan niya ang Headmistress na nakaupo habang may binabasa sa lamesa. The old woman is in her 50’s however she looks at her 40’s. The headmistress who’s wearing an eye glass looked at her from head to toe, scanning every single stand of her. Xabara felt unease but she did not let it show.

“You must be Xabara Levines” the Headmistress said as she stood up from her seat.

“Ako nga po”

“You looked like someone I knew.”

“Po?”

Xabara’s heart beats as fast as she felt scared.

“Nevermind. Come here let me explain to you our rules here.”

The Headmistress push a button in her table and said “Call Alice and tell her to see me”. After that she went to a sofa near her table and sat across her.

“Don’t be nervous Xabara, by the way I’m Mrs. Adelman the headmistress of Remus Academy”

Mrs. Adelman extended her hand and Xabara took it.

“I’m Xabara Levines po, a witch”

“I know, your uniform says it and I also read your enrollment papers” nakangiting ika na nang Headmistress.

“My uniform po?”

“Yes, but Alice will explain that to you later. I just want to inform you that while you are here in the Academy you must stick to school’s orders and that’s abide the curfew, 8:00 in the evening. You can’t go outside of our premises without a professors recommendation, without activities or missions. You can communicate with your family but only through letters that will send by our school mailman, once a week. Strictly no violence with other Class, once caught doing so will be suspended, severe punishment or worse expelled. ”

Napalunok si Xabara pagkatapos sinabi iyun ng Headmistress.

“Opo”

A knock in the door made them look in that way. As the door opened a girl in the same uniform with her, walk in and bowed lightly to the headmistress and gaze in her direction. When their eyes meet the girl smiled at her and so she did.

“Alice, this is Xabara Levines the new student. Xabara, that’s Alice Norman the President of Witches and Wizards. She will explain to you more about the school you can now excuse yourself”

Xabara bowed lightly as well to the Headmistress before going out. As they are outside the building, Xabara follows Alice.

“Let’s go first to your dormitory so that you can change. Actually, bukas ka pa pwede pumasok sa klase it’s a compulsory here to know around the school first so that tomorrow when you go to your class you wouldn’t be late. Professors are strict with late students kaya ginawang mandatory ito”

Tumango si Xabara sa kanya. Xabara roamed around her sight and saw students with different colour of bow ties.

“Bakit iba-iba ang uniform natin?” hindi maiwasang matanong ni Xabara.

“Ah iyung tie ba, that’s the classification of the classes. You see, students here are different there are elements bearers, even vampires, werewolves and mortals are also studying here. Though the vampires and werewolves are isolated and they are rare to sight. We, witches and wizards have a black tie with a highlight of dark red, us in the tie while the wizards and the guys in this school has their classification colour at the edge of their long sleeve polo shirt uniform. The elemental bearers has a white tie with the highlight of their element, green for earth, blue for water, maroon for fire, and gray for air. The vampires and werewolves uses logo, you know that they are vampires if the logo has a bloody dripping from the fangs while werewolves has strikes of a paw. Even though they are enemies, they couldn’t hurt each other because once they will be close a meter away both of their body will be electrified automatically. The Headmistress designed it and luckily no such thing ever happened.”

“How about the mortals?”

“Yes there are also mortals here. They were chosen by the school Headmistress. For a short of time, the headmistress is somewhat gone to visit the mortal world and find people like us. Some rumors say that the next Princess of Light Realm is a mortal that’s why mortals here are bullied. Well, if a girl mortals is bullied the Princes of different Kingdoms are to the rescue. Hahaha nakakatawa nga eh, kasi parang nagpapaunahan pa sila kung kaninong mortal nagbabasakali siguro na ito ang susunod na Light Realm Princess. Though, its obvious na si Xyrene Zaxoria iyun but some just can’t accept it.”

“Are you sure that it will be Xyrene?”

Alice looked at her meaningfully then shrugged herself. Magsasalita sana ito ngunit nakarating na sila sa dormitory.

“Anong dorm no. mo?”

“Dorm 138”

“Okay. Let’s go inside”
