What is Love? ~ Male!Belarus
Maybe this wasn't the way to go?
But then again, whose to say any other way would have worked?
Maybe your profession wasn't one that you should have sought after. How can you help others when you can't even help yourself?
The skeletal hands of darkness have places a grip on your heart, and have morphed it into something abnormal.
But,maybe you didn't want it to let go.
Well, there is no maybe. You didn't want it to.
Your mind was filled with melancholy madness, but still a fooling smile was etched onto the skin of your lips. Was your choice of being a psychologist frowned upon by others?
They thought you were brilliant! They thought your mind worked wonders on others.
But if only they knew.
But they won't. You'd make sure of that.
So now heels clanked across the white tiled flooring of the light lavender hall. Sharp (e/c) orbs scanned around the perimeter for any thing out of place. You had a keen eye for just the subtlest of details.
You didn't notice anything different from the usual. A smirk was usually placed upon your lips, and today was no exception. You turned a sharp right,as you nodded at one of your fellow therapist.
You let a sigh escape your lips, letting you tell yourself you were tired, but had to keep on going. In fact, you had a new patient today.
You had heard it through the grapevine that he has been to different specialist, yet no one could change his ways. It turns out someone recommended you to his siblings, whom called you.
Well, one of them called you. The other just quickly shouted 'please fix my brother' and the young man started talking about how important this was for their family.
You sat down in your black leather chair,as you twirled around behind your desk a few times. As a few giggles echoed off the walls, as your (s/c) hand reached for the cream file. The giggles were still protruding from your plump lips, yet they did not give off a happy vibe. Yes, you giggled out of joy. Yet, traces of bad intentions and suppressed emotion could be found laced in your laugh.
It was stated that Nikolai had extreme attachment issues. It was said he had an unhealthy obsession with the object of his affection. It went on to explain how he would not only follow her,but that he would put others lives on the line if he thought they opposed a threat to his 'relationship' with this person.
A defined eyebrow slightly raised at the mention of someone possibly being so dependent on another. You almost laughed again at how no one could cure a really bad case of a clingy crush.
"Tch. It's quite pathetic."
You nodded, almost as to assure yourself. You couldn't believe that this person has been to multiple specialist and still harbors such a problem. You could barely stand to glance upon the faces of those other self proclaimed psychologist. How dare they call themselves that, when they couldn't cure something as simple as this. How dare they. In your eyes, you saw it as a disgrace to your superior skills of digging into the minds of the week and feeble. And again, in your eyes, that was everyone that wasn't you. It's not that you thought you were just completely superior. Your thoughts were that anyone could do this, but your the only one so far to work hard enough to bring this gift to the surface.
Your stare was vacant,as you just looked at the bare wall ahead. There was a harsh knocking on the door. Your mind cleared of its thoughts, quickly alerted you of the pest at your door.
"If you keep knocking so harshly, I will never allow you to open that door. So please...calm down."
The sound of the knocking ceased. Silence was the only thing that could be heard through that specific area of the building.
Your ears picked up on the sharp sigh coming from behind the door. Your brows furrowed at the sound. So far, you did not appreciate the way in which this person was conducting their self. Your lips actually formed a deep scowl, but it was quickly gone as soon as you heard the turning of the knob.
"Dr. (L/n)?"
The person asked before they even fully opened the door. You found this quite odd. Very impatient to get their words across. Then it clicked. What other impatient male would be seeing you at this time unless it was-
"Do take a seat in front of my desk, Mr. Arlofskya."
You moves some documents around on your desk,as you could hear heavy footsteps make their way to the leather seat in front of your desk.
Your (e/c) eyes moved up to see something quite interesting.
You knew the files said he was tall, but they didn't say anything about tall and handsome.
This was something new. You've never been attracted to a patient, but this was only your first glance at the man. You wouldn't get too ahead of yourself.
You placed your (s/c) hands on the desk,so you could prop your chin on them. You looked so casual, yet a cold expression was settled on your features.
"So Nikolai, why don't we start this off by you sharing some things about yourself?"
You let your expression only soften enough to let a warm smile out. You had long perfected every "genuine" expression there is. Yet, it didn't stay long,as you observed violet eyes narrow at your form. This wouldn't be acceptable. Your own eyes narrowed in return. His eyes didn't let up,but you could see the flash of shock run through him. This only brought a smirk to your lips.
You stood up from your chair, only too put yourself in the space between your desk and Nikolai.
You leaned down slightly,so you were eye-to-eye with him. You didn't lose track of your thoughts even though, you were slightly captivated by his exotic looks. You could tell he had some interesting heritage.
"Look, I know you've went to other doctors. But I'll go ahead and enlighten you right now. I know what you do. You go in coming across as some badass. You stare into their souls and try to extract it with an icy stare, but my dear, that won't happen to me. Not only am I too smart for you tricks, but frankly I'm sorry to tell you I highly doubt there is even a soul to take from me."
His expression was blank, but that didn't fool you. You could see the swimming emotions in those gorgeous eyes.
"I know why you play tricks with your looks,or lace malice in your words. I know what you do and why you do it. I know you. I know you're scarred. You hide. But guess what, dear? I've never lost at hide-and-go-seek,and I don't plan on starting to lose any time soon."
"Idiot."
You could feel the slightest shiver go up your spine at his rich voice. It was smooth as black velvet. Yet, you refused to let it show. But it was admittedly hard to not let it show.
"Being right and being at an opposing side to you doesn't make me an idiot."
Nikolai stood too. Any closer and both of your noses would touch. Your eyes lit up before you could suppress the slight feelings you have already acquired for him. This was moving too quickly, and you knew it.
"We have a lot to discuss,Nikolai. I am being paid for very long sessions with you. So, I take it that it would be in your best interest to sit."
You drove a knife straight through the thick atmosphere. That's always a gamble, but it seemed to work,as the light haired male sat down.
"So, it's obvious that you have something bothering you or else you wouldn't be here. So please, do tell."
You leaned back in your seat. You had your recorder ready,so you wouldn't have to take notes as you go. You had already talked it over and Nikolai and his family agreed this would be an okay thing to do.
"Nothings bothering me. It's everyone else who's bothered not me."
A singular eyebrow rose,as you looked over at him. You decided the best way to deal with this man,was to just go mostly unfiltered.
"Let down your guard. I'm not going to attack you. At least, not at this point. Your defending yourself. I hear it in your tone of voice. You're being defensive and angered. I advise you to nip that in the bud at this moment,as that will not fly with me."
Silence.
His lack of talking was starting to itch your nerves.
"So, why would people be bothered by you? What have you done?"
You saw Nikolai sit straighter than he was before.
"I love her. I love her with every piece of my heart. Yet, she doesn't love me. I don't understand."
You could practically feel the anger and sadness radiating off of him.
"I really do love her. I do."
His head dipped down,as his silverish blond bangs slightly hid hid face from your view.
It didn't take a genius to figure out he was very emotional about this topic and to assume he was now crying.
You stood once more from that chair of yours and you knelled in front of him.
You pushed his bangs back from his pale face to see the silent tears.
Nikolai looked up from the sudden feel of your soft skin lightly brushing past his face.
"So tell me, why is everyone bothered by you loving her?"
Nikolai's face looked at the white tiles once again,as he took in a breath of air.
"She's my big sister."
Not even you could hold the shock from reaching your eyes,as you heard these words.
That was some vital information those imbeciles left out.
"Tell me about the love you have for your sister."
You reassuringly placed your hand in his slightly shaking one. You never would have fathomed whoever his crush was, that it would make him so overwhelmed.
You could feel him squeeze your hand, but the tears stopped.
"I want to marry her. I've asked her so many times. Each time, I'm left alone."
"How do you feel about your current situation?"
This roller coaster of a patient was starting to get to you. And in all honesty, you didn't really like it. No, not a bit.
"It..hurts."
This statement piqued your interest.
You slowly retracted your hand from his grip. As you did, it felt like he didn't want to let go. No, it didn't just feel like it. His expression changed to glare at you,as if to say 'don't you dare'. You also could see the sadness encased in his eyes.
Yet, you still retracted your hand, and you sat behind your desk once more.
"Lift your head up. Now."
Your command was sharp like a Sargent. This commanding tone made him bring his eyes up to meet yours.
"Everybody hurts. If you don't believe me, listen to the damn song. But, it depends what you do with that hurt, determines if those wounds make scars. storing your feelings, and waiting to cry on my chair won't do you any good. Look, you are infatuated with th-"
"I love her."
His tone was back to being harsh,as he cut you off.
"Okay, what is love?"
Nikolai looked puzzled,as your words echoed through his head.
"I don't know."
You threw your hands in the air,and let a mocking laugh escape your lips.
"You said you love her so c'mon, tell me!"
"I DON"T KNOW,DAMMIT."
His fingers entwined in his hair, after he screamed his frustrations out.
You walked over to Nikolai and took his hand in yours once more, but this time to lead him out of the chair. Your shorter body stood dangerously close to his own. Something flickered through his eyes,as he stared at your form. Yet, you couldn't tell what it was exactly.
"I would love to chat even more, but your session is over. I'll see you again the day after tomorrow."
~~Time skip because, this is already hella long, man.~~
"How did your session go? Did we finally find the right one? I heard really good things about Dr. (L/n)."
Nikolai looked ahead at the windshield, but nodded his head yes.
He could hear the audible sigh from his brother. He felt like a weight was lifted off of his shoulder. He couldn't find the right person to help Nikolai, until now. Dmitri knew he was running out of options too.
But what he didn't know was, as he was pulling into his drive, thoughts swarmed through Nikolai's head. He was more conflicted than ever. He had never seen someone as magnificent as Dr. (Y/N) (L/n). Intellectually and physically, Nikolai (Y/n) was the spitting image of perfection. His tears were falling for his sister, but now his heart was thumping for his psychiatrist.
He'd never met a woman like her,and he didn't think he could possibly meet another quite like her. In the back of his mind, the words of her were stuck on repeat.
He felt confident he could answer her question now.
'What is love?'
Well, it's what he was feeling for his doctor,of course. What else could it be? He knew these feelings were far stronger than the ones he harbored for his sister. Her would cry for her,but he knew in his heart that he would die for (Y/n).
~~God, this is my longest one-shot so far~~
You watched every unique drop of rain out of your office window. You had another session with Nikolai tomorrow. At first glance, you planned on messing with his brain. You wanted to take it and play your games. Take it and turn it inside out, just like everyone else. You wanted to watch his squirm until, he thought he needed you as a life support. Yes, this was your own sadistic game you were quite fond of. Yet, you couldn't seem to bring yourself to follow through with this plan.
Something about him was so vulnerable. That made him an easy target. His heart was fast to clench on one and not let go. That also made him an easy target. Yet, he had this child like blindness of reality to him. You were quickly starting to feel protective over him,and you've only met him once.
He was dragging you into a territory of emotion that you haven't been in before. And honestly, this is the first time something has really frightened you. He was morphing your mind. You didn't know where your own state of mind was going. You didn't have control, and it scarred you.
One part of you wanted to be like his protective mother, and another part of you wanted to see him on his knees, begging for you to love him,as he does for his sister. His sister. That girl that has suddenly started to make your blood boil.
You were starting to slowly become infatuated with this patient of your, yet he lusts after that girl. You didn't know what you were going to do yet,but nothing was not anywhere on the list of possibilities. You were going to do something. That was certain.
(Right here, I'm going to make a full length story. So, you can go for a full length story, based off of the above. This will be the first chapter)
