Chapter 47
~
~Niyo's POV~
It took me a while to fully register the words that came out of the woman's mouth seconds before she fainted but once they did, well, fuck.
"Give her a nice room, guarded, and make sure she has everything she needs." I ordered Tobirama in a low voice, my eyes glued to the ground watching my feet take a turn as I made to leave the room. I felt nothing at that moment.
"Where are you going?" There was caution in his voice.
"Nowhere." I lied, resuming my departure.
"Go home and rest."
"Fuck rest."
"Stop-" Tobirama moved forward to grab my arm, to stop me, but his movement made things click in my brain. I didn't want to be stopped. I had something to do. I forcibly let out chakra out of every tenketsu – something that made Tobirama back up a little to shield himself, these few seconds were what I needed. "Stop her!" He yelled out and when I stepped out of the interrogation room, everybody was on my tail. I didn't want to hurt them but I was angry and didn't want to be stopped either. Temporary damage was the only option I had available so I opted it.
I summoned my swords and poured chakra in them that would turn into paralyzing needles when I would swing the blade, it was an effective technique against many foes. Anybody who was brave enough to stand in my way fell down the instant I ran past them. I stopped when Hashirama-sama stood at the end of the corridor, just in front of the door, with a frown on his face.
"Move please."
"Stop Niyo-san, where are you going?" He asked, calm. Tobirama appeared some distance behind me, I was stuck.
"I am going to kill my father." I answered truthfully this time, not lowering my swords for a second.
"This is madness, you are in no condition to do so." Tobirama said.
"We will find another way to deal with him." Hashirama-sama said, trying to reason with me.
"Yes-"
"NO! I want him dead, right fucking now!"
"I know you are angry and your anger is rightly placed too, but try and see that it is blinding you from what is logical."
~Tobirama's POV~
"I don't give a shit about logic anymore. So move or you will be moved." Niyo threatened anija now pointing her sword directly towards him. Her chakra was burning so much that it hurt sensing it, this was the most angry I had ever seen her.
In her condition and her anger, I did not want to force her to stop, not like I could, she made clear of that earlier. She was just as strong as the two of us but she never showed her true power to anyone. If she wanted, she could use her kekkei genkai and defeat both us brothers right now. When she stopped me earlier, I was amazed by her ability to summon such an amount of chakra in such a condition.
"You leave me no choice, I can't have you leave the village." Hashirama said and I knew what he was going to do next – he would suck all her chakra out and put a seal on her so she won't be able to go outside the village borders without the whole Konoha shinobi force finding out.
The moment anija lunged forward and Niyo made to dodge, I moved and put her in a deadlock so it would be easier and she won't be able to run away either. She kicked me shin and tried to throw her swords in such a way that I would have to let her go but I decided to sustain a few cuts and bruises than to break the hold. Once anija's hand connected with Niyo's forehead she was calm, slowly sinking to the ground possibly due to the sudden lack of energy.
I felt really guilty and bad for doing this to my wife but it needed to be done. It was all the more difficult because she knew without us telling her what we had done. Her will for revenge was just and fair but it was not OK to do it right now and this specific way.
The way Niyo glared at my brother and me with silent tears filling her eyes, the lump in my throat worsened. I put my hands on her arms to help her stand but she slapped them away and kicked me again on her way up – I was sure my shin was cracked by now.
"Don't follow..."
I didn't.
Anija and I discussed a few things about the matter and I gave him the complete details we got out of the Yamanaka woman. She was placed in a nicer room but she was still being guarded like a prisoner. The few guards who were present while the day's happening were sworn to secrecy because if word got out that Niyo attacked the Hokage, the whole village would riot.
I completed my day's duties in an unnatural silence and my mind was on Niyo the whole day. She told us both to not follow her and it was bothering me, she had no chakra and however much she had, she must have been hiding it because I couldn't sense her anywhere. I was worried she was passed out somewhere.
As much as I wanted to respect her wish, when night fell and Niyo still wasn't back, I left to look for her. She wasn't in her usual spots she went to for solitude and that worried me – if she wasn't there, where else could she...
Oh no.
Ohhh noo.
I rushed to the forbidden forest – Niyo once expressed her interest in that area when I told her that it was filled with beasts and animals of monstrous sizes. She was definitely there, I just knew it. I had the forest guarded and prohibited so nobody would casually happen upon it but Niyo was not in her right mind right now so she would most probably seek it on her own.
As I had suspected when I neared the forest I started picking up very weak trail of Niyo's chakra and the few broken branches here and there with muddy footprints on the tree barks confirmed my suspicion. I carefully followed the traces Niyo was leaving behind until I came upon some blood which had me throw all caution away and hurry to my wife. I was afraid she was injured or worse.
The bloody trail led to a dead snake and some sounds close by. It was Niyo, she was fighting a big centipede but wasn't using her hands for some reason. I analysed the situation and found it best to just grab her and hiraiishin out of here instead of fighting off this creature and maybe many others it would bring. I was fast for Niyo's faded senses as I took her by the waist and teleported in our room. No sooner than our feet met the carpeted floor, Niyo started struggling to get herself free and punched me in the face and it hit since my guard was always down with her.
I took both her wrists and pushed her against the nearby wall, pinning her hands on either side of her head.
"Just stop." She winced at my grip and I unconsciously let her go but she didn't move, just slumped against the wall and slid down it seconds later. Something dripped down my cheek and I put my hand there to see what it was.
It was blood, from where Niyo punched me. I bent down to her level and took her hands in mine to see where the blood was coming from but I didn't have to ponder and search for long because she winced again when I glided my fingers on her knuckles. Her hands were broken.
"The snakeskin was hard..." Niyo's voice was croaked and broken when she said that and even in the dark room I could see her cynical grin in response to my disbelieved stare. I quickly got the medicine kit and led my wife to the bathroom to first give her a bath and then bandage her wounds. I wanted to let anija see her wounds but I doubted she would be civilized if he did. She stumbled and almost fell but I caught her by the arm and found out she had a big cut there as well. "I got some poison in my eyes too, that damned snake..."
"Why were you fighting it in the first place?!" I finally snapped, hearing Niyo telling me of her injuries one after another. She hurt herself and I did not like that one bit.
"I had to take my anger out somewhere." She replied casually. I poured warm water on her and she hissed at me. "Watch it!"
"So water hurts you but your madness doesn't?"
"Everything hurts nowadays."
I went silent after her response filled with sadness, I couldn't bring myself to say anything to her so I just cleaned her up and rubbed her hair dry then applied some salve on her cuts, finally bandaging them. I snuck in anija's medicine room and got out the eye drops he had for when things like dirt, blood or poison were thrown in one's eyes, three drops for each eye clear away most of the infections.
After force-feeding Niyo some meat and potatoes, I tried putting her to bed but for someone so injured, she was putting up a good fight.
"I can't."
"What do you mean you can't? You have to sleep whether you can or cannot." She fidgeted in her place.
"No... I mean...even sitting hurts, laying down would most definitely be hell...I'm tired of pain..."
"I understand. Come here." I opened my arms and she gingerly stepped in the space, since she couldn't see. I hugged her, putting my arms on her lower back, knowing she had no bruises there. She was tired and depleted of energy and chakra, so my guess proved right when she fell asleep standing. I laid her on the bed and stayed up to make sure she won't run off again in the night.
I didn't want her to get hurt like this again. Ever.
