Female N (Pokemon) x Male reader

(Just imagine she has her hat in that picture.)

As per usual only the ideas that gave birth to this chapter belong to me. You have a Weavile as a pokemon.  Only the Weavile because I don't have enough creativity to think of an entire team. You're starting this story with a white shirt and a pair of sweatpants.

Enjoy.

I was a peaceful day up in your mountain cabin, the sun shining brightly through the patchy clouds. I was cold but you were used to that, having lived up here all your life.  You were out in front of the house chopping wood while Weavile took a nap on the front porch.  Ah yes, your partner Weavile, you hatched him from and egg and the two of you have been through the best and worst together (although he's been through some rougher times) and the two of you are still best friends through all of it.  You split the last log and sighed, wiping the sweat from your forehead.

(Y/N): That's the last one. We'll be prepared if it rains.

Weavile: *snoring* Weav. *continues snoring*

(Y/N): Yep.

You started stacking the split wood on your porch as Weavile continued to snore away.

(Y/N): Sure it's lonely up here, but I wouldn't really have it any other way.

When you finished you looked at the fruits of your work with a sense of pride before hearing a loud rumbling.  You looked up and saw dark clouds slowly approaching your home. You gently woke Weavile and he let out a big yawn and rubbed his eye.

Weavile: *sleepily* Weav?

(Y/N): Hey, come inside a storm's rolling in.

The two of you did just that and sat on the sofa, you with a mug of hot chocolate and Weavile daintily sipping away at a cup of tea.  You had begun reading the newspaper you picked up at the store yesterday and were looking through a story about a group called Team Plasma being defeated by an elite trainer.

(Y/N): Interesting to say the least. Headlines like this make me grateful nothing like that happens here.

You flipped to the next page as lightning flashed outside followed by the rumble of thunder.

(Y/N): Even in the act of destruction nature is beautiful. *drinks from mug*

You were halfway through another article about the Sinnoh champion, Cynthia, taking a vacationing here when Weavile started tugging on your sleeve.

(Y/N): Yeah?

Weavile: Weav!  Weav! *pointing out the darkened window*

(Y/N): There's nothing out there bud.  Probably just a shadow from the lightning strikes.

You went back to reading as the storm raged on.  After another lightning strike Weavile's pulling and pointing became more frantic.

(Y/N): *sighs* Fine I'll look out there.

You got out of your comfy chair and went to the window, fully opening the curtains.

(Y/N): See? Nothing out there.

Just as you said that lightning illuminated the darkened exterior, revealing a figure outside that was slowly and shakily approaching your home and causing you to jump in surprise.

Weavile: *crosses arms* "I-told-you-so" Weav.

(Y/N): *looking out the window* You think they're okay?

Weavile: *shrugs*

Worried, you took your flashlight and went outside to see who the stranger was.

[Timeskip]

(Y/N): So, let me get this straight, you tried to hike through the forest without any kind of supplies or Pokemon to help if any harsh weather came along?

Stranger: *nods*

You had the stranger on your couch, all bundled up and shivering.  Apparently she's been hiking through the forest for a while now. Unsuccessfully trying to escape the rain it would seem since she was sopping wet. so you gave her some of Weavile's blankets and an old shirt that didn't fit anymore.

(Y/N): *sighs* Well, the storm doesn't look like it's going to clear up anytime soon, and you're in no shape to go anywhere anyway. Welcome to my home.

Weavile: Weav weav.

Stranger: Th-thank you.

(Y/N): Care to tell me your name?

Stranger: Just call me N. It'll be easier that way.

(Y/N): Alright, interesting nickname.

N: What makes you think that?

(Y/N): Well, either it is in fact your name or, more likely, your actual first name is either too long or embarrassing so it was shortened to the first letter. I'm not gonna try and guess what it is though, you'll tell me if you feel like it.

She nodded and looked around the room a bit before her eyes landed on Weavile.

N: I don't think I've seen anyone have the same kind of friendship with their pokemon that you have with your Weavile.  At least, I assume he's yours.

(Y/N): Yeah, he is. I don't ever put him in his pokeball, aside from when I need to take him to the center for a checkup.  We've been through a lot together and there's no other pokemon I'd trade him for.

N: That was a nice little speech.

(Y/N): Thank you, I try.

You smiled and looked out the window at the storm raging on outside.

(Y/N): It's really coming down out there.

Weavile: Weav Weavile.

N: Yeah, I don't think I've seen anything like it either.

(Y/N): I didn't say that.

N: I was replying to what he said. *pointing at Weavile*

(Y/N): Wait, you can understand him?

N: *nods*

(Y/N): *confused and intrigued* How?

N: *shrugs* I don't know, I've been able to talk to pokemon for as long as I can remember. That's how I can tell you're actually good friends with him.

(Y/N): *lets out a sigh of relief* Oh thank goodness, I thought he secretly hated me.

[Timeskip]

The storm had cleared and N's clothes were dry so you were seeing her out the door.  After the revelation that she could understand pokemon the two of you had a stimulating conversation and got to know each other fairly well.

(Y/N): It was nice meeting you.

N: You too.

(Y/N): Well, you be safe now.

And with that you two shared one more smile before she walked back towards the forest. You stood on your porch for a moment or two before going back inside to start dinner.  While you were chopping onions, the vegetable's scent stinging your nostrils, you couldn't help but feel a pang of sorrow thinking about your guest.  Once the meal was finished you sat down with Weavile and ate, you didn't even try striking a conversation this time.  That night you went to bed feeling a little bit lonelier than before, staring blankly at the ceiling you slowly fell asleep.

[Timeskip]

It's been about a week now and the feelings had all but vanished at this point and now you are hanging up wind chimes out on your front porch while Weavile carved a wooden sculpture with his claws.  While the two of you were admiring your work you heard a familiar voice behind you.

N: Excuse me?

You turned around to see her standing there, with a bit of nervousness in her posture.

(Y/N): Oh, hey there N. How are you?

N: *smiles* I'm fine thank you for asking. S-speaking of, I wanted to ask you something.

(Y/N): Sure.

N: I've been thinking a lot this past week and I was wondering if I could stay with you.

The nervousness you saw in her posture had now seeped into her voice.

(Y/N): Sure, how long do you need to stay?

N: Th-that's not what I mean, I'm asking if you'd let me live with you.

The two of you stood there in silence, you stunned by her question and her waiting for your answer.  After a bit of awkward silence she looked down at her folded hands.

N: *sad* I knew I shouldn't have asked, I'll leave you alone.

As she said that you took a step forward and gently embraced her.

(Y/N): I'd be happy to have you here.

She looked up at you and slowly returned your hug.  Then and there, the love between the two of you was sealed with a kiss.

{Fin}

Wow, that took me WAY longer that it should've, but hey at least it's done and you all know that I'm still alive.  That aside I hope you enjoyed and I'll be seeing you all in the next chapter.
