Fem!Ren x Male gunslinger reader

Ren won the vote and so did the Lich so you all should know what this is. You look like this except you're not a skeleton and don't have bullets in your eye sockets.

None of the source material belongs to me.

Enjoy.

You are known as the immortal master of the Gungeon and the other residents of the mysterious and horrible place knew it. The only way that you could be killed was if a brave soul fought their way to you and could hold their own against you. Unfortunately it wasn't just one soul that braved the Gungeon and vanquished you, it was four and they all managed to fight their way to you and finish you by using the gun to kill your past. This backfired somehow and you were still alive and the Gungeon still remained. However, you were on a different planet than before and when you woke up you were in the breach. The only two that remained after your rebirth were the two ghosts that taught the new gungeoneers methods of defending themselves while in the Gungeon. They looked at you in terror and it was then that you realized how they were able to defeat you. Ser Manuel, the ghost that had been here in the breach the longest, had taught them his dodge roll and they utilized that to avoid the ridiculous attacks that no human could circumvent by walking.

Lich: Do either of you know what's happened here?

You were shocked by the words that came out of your mouth. Before the gungoneers had come along the most that would escape your mouth, if you could even call it that without a bottom jaw, would be a lifetime smoker's death rattle, but now you were speaking full sentences with a voice so deep that it could beat the Marianas trench. You looked at the golden shrine beside you and saw that your skin had returned along with your voice and everything else that came with being human again. You turned back towards the ghosts that continued to quake while looking at you.

Lich: Do either of you know?

Ser Manuel & Blockner: (both shake heads)

You realized that the force that kept you in the Gungeon was gone now.

Lich: I'm free?

Blockner: How funny, I'm not.

You turned around, causing him to start shaking again.

Lich: What was that?

Blockner: Nothing.

Lich: I thought so. I'll bring you both back to life, but now you follow my orders. Got it?

Manuel: (gulps) Y-yes your lordship.

You looked at Blockner and he immediately straightened out.

Blockner: Yes your eternal highness.

You summoned two chests and opened them both, reviving the fallen knights.

Manuel: I forgot what it felt like to have a face.

Blockner: I'm glad being a ghost was only a temporary engagement.

The two of them followed close behind you as you exited the breach. You pulled your hat down to shield your eyes from the sun.

Lich: Where are we?

Manuel: I do not know.

As soon as your eyes finished adjusting to the light you were attacked by some flying creatures. The two knights drew their guns, but they were too slow, in a second you drew your revolver and shot all four in the time they took to blink.

Lich: Too slow. These are primitive creatures.

Manuel: Hey, where'd my helmet go?

Blockner: That rat must've taken it. Only explanation I can think of.

Lich: I wonder what happened to him after the relocation.

As you pondered several tombstoners emerged from the brush surrounding you and stood at your sides.

Lich: Ah, so you all still follow me. I'm glad that I won't have to find new underlings.

And for the next couple of days you continued carving your way through the forest, trying to find out where you were and why you were there. It turned out that you grabbed the attention of certain people. For the first time since you got here you saw actual people other than Manuel and Blockner.

????: You must be the one who's been roaming the forest and killing the Grimm that we were sending hunters after.

Manuel: Hey!

Blockner: We've been helping him!

Lich: (turns to them) A bit of a knock and a scratch here and there doesn't constitute helping. I'm keeping you two around so I don't go insane.

Manuel & Blockner: Oh.

Lich: Is there a reason why you're here to find me?

????: I wanted to extend an offer to you.

The individual had your interest piqued.

Lich: Continue.

????: (smiles)

[timeskip]

She introduced herself as Ozina and she took you and your two companions to attend her school. Currently you were in the library reading about the world you were in, which you found out was called Remnant, with your ammomancy book sitting on the table next to you. You were in your own little world when the cocaine laced squirrel known as Nora Valkyrie started running around. You sighed and closed the history book before picking up your own and walking over to find the tail that usually follows her. Lee Ren, or just Ren as everyone else calls her.

Litch: Could you please do something about her?

She nodded and walked over to Nora.

Ren: Nora, calm down or there won't be any pancakes tomorrow. And if you aren't here to study then please go back to the dorm.

Nora: Okay fine then. (notices you standing where Ren was) Oh, want some time alone with your crush ey? (nudges Ren's arm)

Ren blushed at the comment knowing that Nora was partially true. Thankfully for her you didn't hear the last part nor did you see Ren's blush. Nora went back to the JNPR dorm and Ren returned to the spot next to you.

Ren: What is your name? I don't think any of the teachers have spoken it aloud.

Lich: It's been so long since I last heard my real name, but if you insist on calling me something the gundead call me Lich.

Ren: Then until we find out what your name is I'll call you that.

Lich: Would you like to study with me?

Ren: Sure.

You both sat down and did exactly that, studied. Two hours later you took your hat and the two of you went your separate ways. You returned to the dorm that had been given to you and your two companions, who had actually become useful by the loosest definition of the word from their attendance to this school, to find them holding another after school competition.

Manuel: Can you be the judge here?

Blockner: (confident) Yeah, tell us who won.

Litch: Who won what?

Manuel & Blockner: Our art contest.

Lich: Okay, let me see them.

They then showed you their drawings. Blockner drew the Gorgun Med-uzi and Manuel drew a picture of your previous form.

(credit goes to Deviantart's goodsnake)

Lich: You both did excellent work, but Manuel wins on flattery points.

Manuel: I am victorious!

Lich: We're supposed to be a team here why are the two of you arguing?

Manuel: This was just a friendly competition.

Lich: Okay.

Blockner: I passed by the library when I went to get the paint and saw you studying with Ren. When did you plan to tell us?

Lich: We're not in a relationship.

Blockner: (under breath) You say that now but I bet that'll be a different story.

Lich: (draws gun and aims it at Blockner) You mind repeating that Shield man?

Blockner: (pisses self) I said you two would make a lovely couple.

Lich: (holsters gun) Thought so.

You took off your belt and coat before lying in bed and attempting to fall asleep with the knights whispering behind you.

[In your dreams]

You were standing in the middle of an arena with people in the stands all cheering for the challengers. You turned to see who they were cheering for and when you saw them your mouth hung open in shock before gritting your teeth. The challengers were the four that beat you and sent you to this place. Your (dominant) hand hovered next to your revolver and your other hand held your book close as you glared at them.

Lich: I'm going to enjoy this.

You clenched your fist hard enough to crack your knuckles before drawing your gun and planting a round squarely in the Marine's helmet, causing the thing to break in half and fall to the ground. You took aim and fired again, wounding the Convict and leaving her unable to dodge your bullets. That was where your good fortune ended though, after that every shot you took either grazed your target or missed it entirely. Growling, you holstered your revolver and summoned another weapon, a missile launcher. You fired volley after volley until your ammunition ran dry and you dropped the useless weapon to draw your revolver. After the artillery barrage your foes were weakened and ready to be finished off. An evil grin spread across your face as you took aim and pulled the trigger without hesitation. Only after the hammer had struck did you realize your mistake, your arm had become skeletal once again and the weapon you fired was not your revolver, it was THE gun. Abruptly following that revelation the bullet fired and struck you turning you into a pile of ash once more.

[Welcome back to the real world]

You woke up to Manuel gently shaking you awake.

Manuel: Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey.

Lich: (groans and sits up) Where am I?

Blockner: Still in Beacon like we have been for weeks.

Lich: I had a dream.

Manuel: A dream? What's so special about that?

Lich: It felt so real. I fought those four again. I was about to win and my gun changed. It changed into The Gun.

Manuel and Blockner's eyes widened. The gun that could kill the past, it was the treasure the Gungeon held. And the reason why so many people ventured there, and why wouldn't they? There are very few who would pass up an opportunity to change their past. Most who attempted to reach it failed, except those four. They are part of the few who managed to kill their past, but they all went a step further and went through Bullet Hell to reach you.

Lich: I think it's best not to dwell on it and move on.

The three of you sat down to eat the wonderful breakfast that Manuel had made for you. Despite being a ghost that required no sustenance to exist he had an amazing talent when it came to cooking. Blockner on the other hand had managed to burn water, so it was an easy decision when deciding who would be cooking your meals. Your first class of the day was Professor Port. The teacher that told his personal history instead of the lessons he was supposed to teach the class. (If anyone knows the subject he's supposed to teach, would you mind telling me?)

Lich: (fighting the urge to fall asleep) Please, let it end.

Just as you were about to let the boredom take over and put you to sleep the bell rang, saving you and all the other students from this torture. As you were walking down the hallway to your favorite class, combat training, Nora dragged Ren up to you.

Nora: Hey there tall, dark, and handsome. I have a gift for you.

And with that cryptic as hell sentence she left Ren with you and ran off.

Lich: How do you put up with that?

Ren: I have no idea.

The two of you walked to the next class in relative silence until Ren asked you a very poignant question.

Ren: Why do you still use that revolver? You've been here long enough to make yourself a new weapon.

You smiled as fond memories came to mind.

Lich: This sidearm has served me without fail for as long as I can remember. I feel no need to use anything else.

Ren: That is understandable.

Lich: Also, with my magic I can change the caliber this gun is chambered in on the fly. As a wise man once said "Six bullets, more than enough to kill anything that moves." Although I prefer a double-action magnum to a single-action.

Ren: I guess that can be true. If your aim is good enough.

Lich: Are you questioning my skill?

Ren: I haven't seen any proof to not question it.

Lich: (gasps theatrically) My heart, you wound it deeply. (holds the classroom door open) Ladies first.

Ren: (chuckles) Thank you. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

Lich: I do study from time to time.

She entered the room with you following behind her and the two of you took seats next to each other. Through the class you weren't really paying attention to the lecture, instead you were thinking about Blockner's comment from yesterday. You looked at Ren out of the corner of your eye and really looked at her. Her eyes, her hair, the cute way she blushes when she thinks you don't notice her staring at yo- wait. You scratched your chin for a second before scribbling down a note and discretely passing it to her.

[Another dang timeskip]

You were standing by a tree you occasionally used for target practice with a tombstoner keeping you company while you waited.

Ren: You wanted to meet me here.

Lich: Yeah. I wanted to tell you I've noticed you staring at me.

Ren: That's normal when you don't understand somebody.

Lich: Why do you blush?

Ren: (speechless) I-

Lich: Don't lie.

Ren: Okay. I may have feelings for you.

Lich: Oh. That's completely different than what I was expecting, but I'll gladly be in a relationship with you.

Ren: Really?

Lich: Yeah. You saved me the trouble of confessing to you.

You took her hand in yours and were about to kiss her when the tombstoner tried to get your attention for some reason.

Lich: (looks at the minion) What?

It pointed at the epitaph on its face and you took a closer look.

Lich: Is this my name or something?

Tombstoner: (jumps in a pathetic attempt at nodding)

Lich: I guess my real name is (Y/N).

Ren: Strange that this one out of all the others I've seen follow you had your name on it.

(Y/N): Real 1 in a 100,000,000,000 coincidence there. Picking up where we left off.

You cupped her cheeks in your hands and gave her a romantic kiss, thus cementing your new status as a couple. At the dorms Blockner and Manuel are watching the two of you through scopes.

Manuel: Wow, they're going at it.

Blockner: You think they'll get to doing something steamy?

Manuel: Doubt it. But there's no harm in watching to find out.

{The end}

Wow. How long did this take me? I remember a time when I could write 4 or 5 chapters in a week. I wonder what happened.
